When I go to Universal, I have specific experiences in mind. I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I love cutesie rides, like anything in Dr. Seuss Landing or Yoshi's Adventure. But lo and behold, is it possible to think one of the best things at Universal Studios Orlando might be The Bourne Stuntacular? First of all, Matt Damon could never. The actor I saw play Bourne was incredible, fearless, hanging from the sky, and jumping onto the roofs of cars. Yes, cars... they have cars and a motorbike loaded under (SPOILER ALERT) the stage. The stunts and the story were amazing. But honestly? It was the set design and imagination for me. This was a completely compelling, awe-inspiring show that really pays homage to the origins of Universal; a place to celebrate our love for stories and films. If you go to Universal, don't just covet the Butterbeer. Prioritize The Bourne Spectacular. read more

Mind blown! One of the coolest shows I've ever seen in any theme park: they did a great job mixing real actors and real sets with the background movie sets playing! They even have scenes with motor vehicles on the set and it was really seamless! There is a brief "intro" scene to watch to catch you up briefly about Jason Bourne but you don't really need to know anything about the movie franchise to enjoy the show. There will be some loud noises and some neat water and fire effects! It adds to the realism! 10/10 read more

Far exceeded all expectations. Only came in here on a whim because the showtime was convenient and there was no line. This is the future of stagecraft! Don't want to give too many spoilers, but the use of high quality projection, dynamic stage props, and action coordination make this a stunner. Indoor stunt show featuring the Bourne film franchise This was a very cool stunt show combined with a massive LED screen that accurately projects images and moving scenes. I can't really explain it properly but it's a live action performance based on the Bourne franchise that stars Matt Damon as an ex-spy looking to reclaim his lost identity. Combine live performers, high-tech props and this huge screen and you get a stuntacular show. It's even sometimes difficult to tell the screen from the real thing. I'm sure it took a lot of training and rehearsals before the show premiered and went 'live' on stage. There was a glitch in one scene where the prop did not work on cue with the screen. I didn't notice it until they did a "Take 2". A technician came out on stage to explain the effect and how it was supposed to work. The show was about 30 mins long. I was totally engaged and beyond amazed how much I enjoyed this live-action stunt show. It's not a ride but takes place in a theater-like stage. It included effects such as feeling the heat from fire scenes or getting sprayed with water or feeling a gush of air as we followed the character of Bourne as he was relentlessly being pursued by enemy operatives and the bad guys. No lie, but this has to be the coolest "stunt" show I have ever seen. It's a combination of on screen scenes mixed with IRL live action. The effects are out of this world and my mind was completely blown. It's something you need to see for yourself. I sat in the middle near the back of the auditorium. The Bourne Stuntacular is truly a spectacular show! Being that Universal is obviously a theme park and consists primarily of actual rides, I had no idea what to expect when they call the Bourne "ride" a "show". Plus, when covid was it its worst they were really limiting seating because this show takes place in a big indoor theater, so if you didn't show up at least 30-45 minutes early to wait in line you wouldn't get in. It happened to us several times and we eventually gave up. But now, they are allowing more viewers in at a time, and you still sit a few seats apart. So we easily made it in, and I genuinely had no idea how much I would enjoy this show. It was so cool!!! I haven't seen the Bourne movies all the way through- just bits and pieces but I want to now so I can understand this ride even more. But in all seriousness, it was legit! You follow Jason Bourne on an intense adventure, where he fights mobsters and jumps and climbs and does a bunch of crazy things- a lot of STUNTS- all on this one big stage. I was super impressed with how smooth the show was. Like, it was crazy to think about how they even started to create the show and made it into the reality it is, it really took some brilliant brain power. A well done theatrical production. Just like the movies, lots of gun fire and fist fights. Buildings and actors move across the stage, choreographed with background scenery. Pretty cool. Loud music and special affects. Not sure I'd bring a small child or anyone sensitive to noises without ear protection. For anyone who is a fan of the movie you'll probably enjoy the show. read more

The Bourne Stuntacular is a unique show located at Universal Studios Florida. This is a show based on the Bourne series. The location for this show is located near the entrance to Universal Studios, next to the Minion ride and Shrek 4D. This is a must see show if you're visiting Universal Studios Florida for a vacation. I wasn't sure what to expect with the show. The wait queue had different photographs of major characters of the Bourne series. When you're brought into the show, you first wait in a queue area, where you see about 5 minutes worth of background history of Jason Bourne. Inside the theatre, the seat layouts are in a semi-circle towards the stage. The show is a mixture of 3D and live sets. Also, a mix of virtual actors and real actors. It was a interesting way to combine technology for a show. I thought the coolest scene was the desert action sets! It was pretty cool! The wait time wasn't too bad for a mid-summer day, approximately 20 minutes. All of the show times for this is located on the Universal Florida's phone application. read more

This was a pretty cool show and my parents liked it enough to see it twice. We sat in a large theater style room facing the stage. The star had to perform stunts while running from or fighting his pursuers. The main cool part was not really the stunts, but actually the way the show happened. It blended the rotating stage with trap doors, and the screen. Sometimes it was a building on the screen with part of the building on the stage. It matched so well it was hard to tell which was which until he climbed up a portion. There was smoke on stage and other effects too. It was maybe 30 minutes long. read more

I'm so glad Universal got rid of the outdated Terminator Show and put this amazing new show in that building! Even if you aren't familiar with the Bourne series, the show itself is definitely worth a look at least once. Probably 2/3rds of the room said they had seen it previously so definitely a testimony to how good it is. It's a mix of an IMAX theater type screen with some live actors and props as well as some special effects. Lots of different stunts and fight scenes. The actors are very talented. Awesome! Just an awesome, visually interactive and stunning show! It's one of those shows where going in knowing less is better than having high expectations - though I may have just set the bar a little high with my 5 stars...oh well! If you've been to the park before and you're not sure where the attraction is, it's located where the Terminator 3D attraction was. If you didn't know where that attraction was...I just wasted a few seconds of your life reading, but reading is supposed to be fundamental so you're welcome! First of all, there are only so many seats in the auditorium and, since this is a new attraction, it gets full. I advise you to get in line at least 30 minutes before the show, especially during COVID. No need to find a locker for your stuff since this is a sit & watch attraction. The interior wait line is pretty cool. There are TVs with movie clips (this is all Matt Damon - no Jeremy Renner), props, and signs to keep you entertained. The repetitive movie score is a little annoying though since it repeats over and over as the next clips start to play. The inside seating is the same layout as the attraction before - a semicircle of seats facing a stage. What you get next is a mixture of live and virtual actors and set pieces. Other than one moment near the end with a real car and the virtual set, it was all pretty seamless to me - but that could've been an off day for the attraction's engineering team. Several of the actors wore masks due to COVID, but since we were too, it didn't matter much to me. Shoot, it might even help you to not notice that it's NOT Damon's Bourne up there on stage so there's that to consider. Overall, this is probably the best attraction in Universal Studios (not including Islands of Adventure) and second only to Rocket for me. We are big, big fans of the Bourne series of movies, with only the exception of the one starring Jeremy Renner. The others, that Matt Damon has done, are some of our top 10. Having said that, we wanted to experience the Stuntacular several months ago, but it was closed down because of Coronavirus. Now, however, it's opened, so we decided to give it a shot. The Stuntacular is tucked down a side street that we had not seen before. It was a bit difficult to find, until you opened your eyes and saw the sign. The show appears to go on about once an hour or so and we just so happened to wander in at the last minute for the next showing. I'm so glad we did. The crowd was fairly sizable - probably around 200 people. Of course, social distancing and face masks are the order of the day. This is one of the few negatives, honestly. The lines on the ground demarking where you can stand seem to have little thought given to them. At times, you are 20' or more away from the people in front of you and at others, seem to be within 3' of a group. Yet, if you do not stand on those marks, you are subject to some correction from the workers. I get it. Those are their orders, but I think introducing a bit of common sense might help them do their jobs. Regardless, once you are seated, the show begins. No cameras or video equipment are allowed in, so this description will have to suffice. The most apt description is that it is a combination of live stunt acting combined with immersive video, sound and other effects. A large screen is used to project action that the actors and props play along with. It was actually a lot of fun and quite a bit of action. The entire thing lasts about 20 minutes, most of which is consumed with very engaging sets, fun action and entertaining material. You even find yourself looking up as Jason Bourne swings above you from a helicopter. The sounds in this event are very loud. I received a few loud warnings on my Apple Watch as the decibel limit pushed the mid-90's. The only other potential negative is minor and a result of COVID. The actors spend the entire event with masks on. This seems a tad odd, since they are up on stage and many, many feet removed from the audience, near only to each other, where they are going hands-on together. It seems even more odd because the filmed sets and people on them are not masked. I'm sure as this crisis passes, this will flow back into a normal appearance, but for now, be prepared for a bit of disillusionment. read more

I been told by an employee that this show gets max capacity every single time and it's the best show they have. They weren't wrong. So far this was easily the best live show I've seen between Disney and Universal combined. It's a must see show if you love action. This show mixes a 2D screen with real-life objects to make scenes more immersive. Basically giving you a 3D effect without needing any glasses. The show has loud effects and many fight scenes. It feels like you're watching a movie almost. The only flaw is the pre-show while in queue. You have to watch a 8 minute video telling you everything about Bourne. We almost fell asleep. read more

We'll, the show itself was very good. But waiting for the event was very, very long. Maybe it's because there wasn't much of a line. We had express passes and after the walking part of the staging area we were led into a big auditorium. There were about 50 of us at first. We we're told to stand as close together as possible. For about 1/2 hour wee we're left in this hot room packed together in the hot room with cement floors while the auditorium slowly filled up with 600 people (not very Covid friendly). Then the introductory movie stated. Once we finally got into the theater the show itself was good. However the overall experience for that one ride was well over an hour and took away from the opportunity to enj the rest of the park. read more
