11.21.22 The Bourne Stuntacular in Hollywood
    May A.

Indoor stunt show featuring the Bourne film franchise This was a very cool stunt show combined with a massive LED screen that accurately projects images and moving scenes. I can't really explain it properly but it's a live action performance based on the Bourne franchise that stars Matt Damon as an ex-spy looking to reclaim his lost identity. Combine live performers, high-tech props and this huge screen and you get a stuntacular show. It's even sometimes difficult to tell the screen from the real thing. I'm sure it took a lot of training and rehearsals before the show premiered and went 'live' on stage. There was a glitch in one scene where the prop did not work on cue with the screen. I didn't notice it until they did a "Take 2". A technician came out on stage to explain the effect and how it was supposed to work. The show was about 30 mins long. I was totally engaged and beyond amazed how much I enjoyed this live-action stunt show. It's not a ride but takes place in a theater-like stage. It included effects such as feeling the heat from fire scenes or getting sprayed with water or feeling a gush of air as we followed the character of Bourne as he was relentlessly being pursued by enemy operatives and the bad guys. Find this at the Hollywood section in the Universal Studios side (right side from the main entrance to the park). Review #2786

The Bourne Stuntacular is truly a spectacular show! Being that Universal is obviously a theme park and consists primarily of actual rides, I had no idea what to expect when they call the Bourne "ride" a "show". Plus, when covid was it its worst they were really limiting seating because this show takes place in a big indoor theater, so if you didn't show up at least 30-45 minutes early to wait in line you wouldn't get in. It happened to us several times and we eventually gave up. But now, they are allowing more viewers in at a time, and you still sit a few seats apart. So we easily made it in, and I genuinely had no idea how much I would enjoy this show. It was so cool!!! I haven't seen the Bourne movies all the way through- just bits and pieces but I want to now so I can understand this ride even more. But in all seriousness, it was legit! You follow Jason Bourne on an intense adventure, where he fights mobsters and jumps and climbs and does a bunch of crazy things- a lot of STUNTS- all on this one big stage. I was super impressed with how smooth the show was. Like, it was crazy to think about how they even started to create the show and made it into the reality it is, it really took some brilliant brain power. I'm just beyond impressed and would say this is definitely worth going to! Just make sure you check the show times because they have specific times throughout the day that they perform.

The Bourne Stuntacular is a unique show located at Universal Studios Florida. This is a show based on the Bourne series. The location for this show is located near the entrance to Universal Studios, next to the Minion ride and Shrek 4D. This is a must see show if you're visiting Universal Studios Florida for a vacation. I wasn't sure what to expect with the show. The wait queue had different photographs of major characters of the Bourne series. When you're brought into the show, you first wait in a queue area, where you see about 5 minutes worth of background history of Jason Bourne. Inside the theatre, the seat layouts are in a semi-circle towards the stage. The show is a mixture of 3D and live sets. Also, a mix of virtual actors and real actors. It was a interesting way to combine technology for a show. I thought the coolest scene was the desert action sets! It was pretty cool! The wait time wasn't too bad for a mid-summer day, approximately 20 minutes. All of the show times for this is located on the Universal Florida's phone application.

It's just a great time all around, and the staff is always super friendly, which makes the experience even better. The park has that perfect mix of thrill rides, themed areas, and little details that make you feel like you're stepping into another world. The energy is high, the lines move pretty well, and there's always something new to look at or explore. It's definitely one of those places where you can spend the whole day and still feel like there's more to see.

While we had looked at the app with the kids to determine where they wanted to go, we were not very familiar with the map layout of the park and this caused us to lose time getting to some of the rides. We came prepared with crossbody bags with ponchos, fans, cooling towels and collapsible water bottles. I also personally packed liquid IV and some light snacks. I would highly recommend the fans and cooling towels if you go in June because it was soooo hot. I drank water but waiting in line for some of the rides that have an outdoor line truly zaps your energy. I do feel that the lines were managed efficiently and that we got to the rides as quickly as the attendants were able to let us in. I understand that the park is supposed to have multiple worlds but to me, the park is too spaced out and we ended up walking way more than we needed to in order to get to the rides that we wanted to which again was exhausting. Obviously prices were high for an amusement park, which is to be expected and therefore, I tried not to spend money on any snacks or drinks. My bf did buy a refillable cup, which I do think was a good deal.I also recommend bringing liquid IV or something like this or getting gatorade in the refillable cip. Halfway through the day it started pouring down raining and we decided to leave the park at this time, and got soaked heading to the parking garage. A lot of other people were waiting in the stores and while I had ponchos, I feel that I should have gotten better ponchos because those were lightweight and not thick enough to do much against the rain. We went back around 7:00pm when the weather had cleared up. I cannot recommend going in the evening enough, especially during the summer because it is so much cooler. It was also good to go back again during the day or over multiple days because you know where you are going. With the weather it had also made the park less busy and we were able to get into rides with a considerably less wait. I would recommend putting AirTags on your kids if you are going though regardless of how busy the park is just because of how big the park is. Because of the size of the park, the lack of to me clear directions and the lack of more rollercoasters/thrill rides, I am giving this 3 stars. I would go back given the lessons that I have learned to see if it would be more enjoyable.

I had heard from locals that it's a great local option over the big theme parks. Fun Spot was pretty great, for what it was. Free parking, free admission if you don't plan on riding rides, also a discounted adult pass if you only are going on rides with your kid who is too young to ride alone. The whole place was small, maybe the area of a handful of city blocks. And on the Sunday afternoon when we went, the place was quiet enough that we never waited more than a few minutes to get onto a ride. As we were only there for a couple hours, the cashier recommended the 4 ride pass for my kids, and the companion pass for me. But if one were to spend more hours there, buying the day pass online for $59.95 is quite a bargain. Not all rides were open, but the "big" rides that most kids want (the roller coasters and the go carts) were open. My daughter, who is not a big roller coaster fan, had a harder time finding kiddie rides that she actually wanted to go on, and she watched the go carts and didn't even want to try those with me driving. However, the place was small enough that I felt fine leaving my 10 year old son to go on rides by himself while I went on the Ferris wheel or the merry go round with my 8 year old. There are a bunch of food options available throughout the park. They were definitely more affordable than Disney prices! Most of the places offered souvenir cups with discounted refills, but there were also water stations set up throughout with free cups. I'd definitely come back if I had a few hours to burn and the kids didn't want to go swimming. Hopefully at some point, my daughter will change her mind about roller coasters, though!

There was a parking garage and parking was super easy. By that time we left around 8:30 PM there were so many cars, but when we first got there at about 5 PM there were tons of spots. They do have parking spots you can pay for in the lower levels so it seems like if you're willing to pay there will always be parking. I walked through the warp pipe entrance and into the land, and that was a genuine moment. The colors, sounds, and scale of everything around me hit immediately in a way that was hard to prepare for even though I knew what to expect. The attention to detail was remarkable, and the music threading through the entire area kept the immersion intact as I moved from one section to the next. Donkey Kong Mine Cart Madness is the ride to prioritize and the one that generates the most excitement in the land. I arrived at park open and went straight here, which was the right strategy as the wait times built quickly. Mario Kart is the other major attraction and delivers on the concept, with the Power Up Band integration adding a competitive layer that makes it more than just a passive ride experience. The Power Up Band is worth purchasing before entering the park if I want the full experience. It unlocks interactive elements and mini games scattered throughout the land that let me collect coins, hit question blocks, and track my score on the app. Without it I could still enjoy the rides and the theming, but a meaningful portion of what makes the land special is tied to having one. At around fifty dollars it is an added cost on top of an already expensive day, but for a Nintendo fan it justifies itself quickly. Weekday visits made a noticeable difference in wait times and gave me more room to engage with the interactive elements without feeling rushed. The land rewards people who slow down and explore rather than just moving through it as efficiently as possible, and there is enough packed into the space that I could spend a solid chunk of the day here without feeling like I had exhausted it.
