Came to Corvallis to visit our daughter and took her here for lunch. It checked all the boxes. Had both indoor and outdoor seating, a varied enough menu for our finicky family, and reasonable prices. The presentation of our meals was picture worthy. My husband had the Cobb salad, which he rated as fair in taste. BUT, he is a foodie extreme and doesn't usually order salads. My daughters ordered the chicken and waffles which were FANTASTIC. I had the mushroom nachos which was pretty good. The chili on them was the best part. Our non-alcoholic drinks, the ginger something and the lemonade, were our least favorite things. The alcoholic drinks they offered though looked really good. (It was too early in the day for us to drink lol). Also the dessert, a peach empanada, was delicious. I would go again, but next time later in the day so I can try one of their cocktails. read more

What a fun and eclectic place with scrumptious food and drinks! Funky decor, big wall listing microbrews and beers on tap plus liquors for cocktails and a welcoming vibe with a seat-yourself in a booth, at a table or cozy couch or chairs and order at the bar when ready - love it! I ordered their creamy rich and indulgent smoked Gouda Mac n cheese and side salad (huge!) and the Stinger cocktail! Perfection! My daughter had their poke bowl and was in heaven. Hubby had a side salad and a lamb burger with goat cheese and microbrew.I mean c'mon! Where else would you find all these menu items together? Our food came out FAST with friendly service. Highly recommended. This was stop #2 on our Pub Crawl from our hotel to the stadium to watch the Ute/Beaver game. By far the most helpful and engaged staff of the whole day. The bartender Tim helped us map out the rest of the stops for our crawl, all while serving some most excellent beers that he recommended. Here is my honest take on the Brass Monkey. The food is expensive, if you can't drink it does not feel like you really get your moneys worth. While I wouldn't necessarily say this is their fault, it does take away from the enjoyment for me personally. This is not to say the food itself is mediocre or bad, it's actually fairly enjoyable, albeit some stuff more than others. The service could use some work, they seem to be in a rush and pressured me at least into ordering fairly quickly. I do enjoy the actual feel of the restaurant a good amount though. Overall, if you are looking for a drink and some good food at a alright price; this is a good bet. If you either can't drink or don't, maybe look around a bit before you choose The Brass Monkey, but jt could be worth it to other people. I would give it a 3.5 stay but Yelp won't let me. read more

We got 2 orders of chicken strips, they brought us chicken sandwiches so we reminded them that we ordered strips. went there for lunch on march 15th. had my dog with me, a comfort dog. bartender politely informed me that I cannot sit inside with. the dog - i acknowledged that I know dogs aren't allowed and said I am just ordering food since we are planning on sitting outside. the bartender said Ok and I was ready to order (you have to order at the bar - no waitstaff. as I am ready to order, the chef (bald, bearded, wearing dirty cloths comes from outside yelling at me: to get the f@$k out!then got in my face calling me names, being absolutely obnoxious. I said: I guess I am not eating here. he proceeded to follow me, putting his face inches from mine, still calling me names, telling me to never come back!!! I said, I won't. as I leave, half the customers got up, the one's that had not ordered, left. multiple people observed this incident from start to finish and told me afterwards that they left too as they witnessed this!!!! any bar or restaurant the employs an unprofessional as him, should think about a different industry. read more

Got a to go order on a Sunday night. Fresh tuna appetizer and a portabella sandwich. Remembered that they could do to go cocktails and added their house special on. The order was ready in 20 minutes as promised. Food was all nice and fresh and as pretty in a cardboard box as it could get. Love that mushroom sandwich!! Great homemade chips came with it. The cocktail was served in a little bottle that they put the cap on. No spilling, no fuss! Saw that they are now open for indoor seating, so I'll be back soon to sit down. read more

I have visited this establishment twice. Once for lunch with my son and once for drinks with friends. The lunch visit was good. We ordered the special sandwiches. It arrived and was a large portion of food at a low price. The second visit for drinks was less impressive. The drink, which cost $9.00 was so watered down I couldn't taste anything. It was a busy night. But still, the food took 70 minutes, and the staff did not look stressed. When it arrived, it was cold, and cheese was congealed and the sauce flavorless. The lead cook was understanding and offered to remake it, but it came back mushy, barely warm, and sadly, tasteless. The cider was dead flat, and the chips were salty and bland. Great bar- this place has wonderful cocktails. They are a tad pricy, but you can't really blame the bar during record high inflation. They are strong but very well balanced, a dangerous and yummy combo! The good is all very good, I particularly recommend the truffle fries which may be the best I've had. Vegan choices were great for my girlfriend, and I tried them and they were delicious. What a great find. Warm atmosphere and you have to check out the eclectic mix of posters and painted skate decks on the walls.
