We've been wanting to try this spot and glad we finally went. First, our server, Tynica, was so friendly and an asset to this team! The watermelon marg was fantastic but I do have to say that two different bartenders made it and they tasted like two completely different drinks. The first one that was darker was way better. We tried several beers and ended up sticking with tried and true names- Stone and Sierra Nevada. The boom boom shrimp was awesome but too spicy for this sissy. The pretzels were buttery. I wasn't a fan of the fries. Had them with a delicious burger and then an order of loaded fries. They were dry both times. read more

Came here to watch the game, didn't realize Allen has a bar this close to home. Dude, this is pretty awesome. Lots of TV's, a fun crowd and yummy bar-food. So I could go on and on about the beer, but typically when you go to a decent bar, they will have beer, The Brass Tap did not disappoint. My rant is about the food... Man-o-man the food was good, and this was consumed while I was sober!! My buddy had the prime rib nachos, which of course I stole half of them. They were made to perfection and went very well with my beer. The cheese was melted and peppers were just right. Incredible taste, made me almost miss my Oakland Raiders score a touchdown... I had the lettuce wraps... I know I know, who orders lettuce wraps in a bar? Keep in mind, I was also eating from the other entrees at the table. The lettuce wraps were super yummy, blew any others I've had out of the water... So now well into my buzz, we order the house tater tots... OH MY GOODNESS BECKY LOOK AT THOSE TOTS!!! It was a magical beer and food combination that brought tears to my eyes. Little unicorns and rainbows appeared and I realized I had reached bar food Nirvana. Enough said... just WOW... The service was great and waitress was always there to crack a joke or bring us more beer. What a perfect combination of food and social in a great location. Came across the Brass Tap whilst looking for a pub type place serving food. So glad we stopped in! Great service and oh my the selection of beers is a sight to behold! Great food, great beer, great service, decent prices for what you receive. The goblet beer glasses are a bit small though, would be better if they served pints or 22 oz mugs or liters! Went to the brass tap with a couple folks from work for dinner. I ordered several beers that we don't get too often in the northeast. For food I ordered 3 of the Korean BBQ pulled pork sliders. They were solid with the slaw giving a crunch element to the pulled pork. Nice spot. read more

The flatbread is thick... If you close both of your eyes and use your imagination to pretend it's not an artisan thin flatbread that they just quickly did a couple of burn marks on either side. I would rather go to Cheesecake Factory if I wanted a thick flatbread. It's definitely bar food and would probably taste not mediocre... if you were drunk. Allen overall just doesn't have good restaurants, go the extra couple of miles to Mckinney or Plano if you want good food. read more

Really like the food and atmosphere. Was there last night when they had musical bingo. Seemed like fun. DJ was friendly so I paid our waiter to bring him a shot. Turns out the DJ doesn't drink so instead of bringing me what I paid for the waiter took it upon himself to give it to another customer and still charge me for it. When I asked the waiter why he didn't bring it to me he didn't have a good answer so I asked if I was still laying for it and he said yes. They've lost a customer and I hope the customer he gave it to can replace my patronage. read more

Ambiance is great,perfect place to go with a group to hangout. Service is only occasionally fast, but all the employees I've met are nice. I usually get a Chicken Club Wrap, which is, in my opinion, the best thing ever. They have my favorite fries in all of Allen (maybe even all of texas) but Ive heard that they are too salty for some. read more

Great beers and surprisingly good food for a neighborhood pub. Lots of TVs so you can get you game on with your friends. Ample room but not too big. Just right for a neighborhood sports bar with real beer on tap. Olivia provided quick service from behind the bar along with suggestions of her favorite menu items. Mexican Flatbread $5.99 was really good. I was a little confused by the term "flatbread" as this is not a thin crust. It's more like a pita pizza and it's delicious. Cheese Burger Flatbread, also for $5.99, and it too was good. For originality and taste, I'll go with the Mex again. read more

Not sure what happened, but the last two times we've come here the food just wasn't good. The tempura chicken tenders were definitely not covered in tempura batter but heavy batter and A LOT of it. Plus the chicken was very greasy and tasteless. The wings were the smallest I've ever seen and tasted just ok. The food comes out a lot faster than it used to but maybe that's not a plus if the quality suffers. The beer selection is still great, but it's sad because they used to be the whole package of great beer AND great food. read more

All in all I was not super impressed with this place. We happened to stumble in because we were lost in the town and wanted some drinks and dinner. I like the atmosphere it was very laid back lots of people there but not super loud. We sat right at the bar where we got good service nothing over the top just doing what they're supposed to. There's a ton of beers to chose from and they're ok with you trying some until you find one you like. I really like how knowledgeable the female bartender was. Since I'm not a huge beer drinker I was a little overwhelmed by the beer list so I told her what I normally drink and she let me try a few she thought I would like and she hit the nail on the head. We ordered wings Nashville hot and pretzels with beer cheese and mustard. Well we were hungry so it did the trick but I wasn't impressed at all with the food. The wings were ok and I've had much better beer cheese. when the bill came I was a little annoyed because they give you this tiny cup(pictured) of blue cheese so my husband had to ask for more and they charged us $3 for that... I could buy a bottle of blue cheese for $3. So obviously that was annoying for me. Anyway if you're looking for a few drinks with friends this is a good spot but I wouldn't go there looking for a great meal. read more

Our group of guys came here on a Tuesday night and we had a good time. This is a good place to watch the game or catch up with friends. There was no time pressure whatsoever and the place had a decent energy to it, yet there was plenty of seating. Located in a strip mall, this place has blacked out windows which makes it seem like night time inside all the time. Their beer selection was great and this place lived up to its name sake. On Tuesdays, all Texas draft beers are $4, which was a nice surprise. Foodwise, I was debating between the burger or wings and in the end, I went with the wings. They have 2 flavors that are unique, the peri peri sauce and the boom boom sauce, which is a sweet buffalo. Both were great and my only complaint is that the wings could have been more crispy. I tagged along to an Office trivia night - I just got for the food. This a great place to hang out, catch up, and have some good food. The lavender lemonade was delicious and a fun concoction to mix. We liked the boom boom shrimp, pretzel bites, burgers, and LA kogi dog. The brussel sprouts could have been crispier in my opinion and the wings were a miss for us. This is the place- in Allen- to get a craft brew. It's designed as a pub with a couple of unique pub food creations (short rib biscuit sliders) that are decent for the most part. Some things completely disappoint in design but not taste (shrimp lettuce wraps, see picture) while others just fall short of being worth ordering again (prime rib french dip). So grab some tots, paired with beer cheese these onion bit of fried goodness are so comfortingly delicious that you'll come back for them alone- and enjoy a beer (from barleywines to ciders to porters, they tend to have it all) read more

Just like any other brass tap. Lots of beer options with rotating taps to keep it interesting. My office has a group that goes just about daily and they are friendly and accommodating regardless of the group size. Waitresses are always really great and come and chat while ensuring everyone gets their beers. I will say a couple of times I've had to flag them down to get my check (probably because the group just sits around forever and I was the only one looking to leave) and that we have one coworker that doesn't drink and they charge him for his single coke/soda when he joins us. Slightly annoying to me because we are all getting beer... DDs don't get charged at a bar usually and I feel like he should be treated as such. Would recommend still. Definitely a fan and we love making this our regular spot. read more
