We've been regulars here for a long time, and I'm surprised I never took the time to write a review. This is easily one of our favorite places in Allen. We've tried a wide variety of items on the menu over the years, and everything has been consistently fresh, flavorful, and high quality. Whether we're stopping in for a quick bite or staying to watch a game, the food never disappoints. The beer selection is outstanding, with an impressive variety of draft and bottled options ranging from crisp lagers and wheat beers to IPAs, porters, and stouts. Fun tip - if you order a German beer, it's served in a traditional 0.5-liter glass, which adds to the experience. The atmosphere is exactly what you're looking for in a neighborhood sports bar. There are TVs everywhere, plenty of seating, and a lively but comfortable vibe that's perfect for catching a game with friends or family. They also host a variety of events throughout the year, making every visit a little different. One of my favorite nights is Pint Night, where you receive a complimentary pint glass featuring the selected beer with your purchase. It's a great promotion and just another reason we keep coming back. If you're looking for great food, an incredible beer selection, and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is hard to beat. We decided to try Brass Tap again tonight for dinner. We have been here once before about 3 years ago and it was ok, nothing too memorable - nothing horrible. Food was ok. So, we thought - why not, it's close- let's go and see if we like it better this time. Let's start with the positives. We arrived shortly after 5pm and the place was pretty empty so we were seated right away. The server was friendly and immediately took our drink orders. She was attentive and service was fast. No complaints with her service at all. It seemed pretty chill and low key. A few people trickled in but nothing crazy for a Saturday night. We ordered the pretzel appetizer and I was pleasantly surprised. The color of the pretzel had me fooled. It was pretty dark in color which usually indicates overdone and hard so when it was amazingly soft inside - wow! So good! We loved the mustard and cheese sauce that came with it. My husband and son ordered a burger and said they were tasty, my other son ordered the chicken strips and said they were good. Negative for the meal, I ordered the blackened cod tacos and subbed the chips and salsa for the Gilroy Garlic Fries. I was very excited for the garlic fries since we are originally from that area and are very knowledgeable about the famous Gilroy Garlic Festival and all things Garlic. Here's where this dish wasn't exciting - the tacos were pretty bland. I took the coleslaw from my son's chicken tenders to try and add more flavor and make the taco more palatable. I only ate 1 of the 2 because there really was just zero flavor. The fries were probably an even greater disappointment. In the center, was a very small amount of cheese and maybe garlic? It had virtually zero garlic taste - I was searching for it. It was a sad version of garlic fries. I would not order that again unless they were improved upon. I went back and forth on 3 stars versus 4 stars because while service was great and fast, I can't confidently say I'd recommend it to someone. I may say it's a great place to chill for a beer and an appetizer but definitely NOT a meal. I think if your expectations are to stick with the appetizer list then you're probably going to like it. With a day long happy hour, decent bar food, and a large selection of beers on tap, this location of the Brass Tap in Allen, Texas is a good place for drinks with friends, or in our case, a celebratory 'turned 21' beer with my nephew. The Brass Tap was founded in Florida in 2008, with 50 locations across 12 states. This location in Allen opened in 2015. Our group of six arrived for lunch on a weekday, and it wasn't very crowded inside. The one bartender was doing all of the front of house chores. He was very good, doing the easy customer interaction that appears to be simple but actually isn't that common. Waters were gotten for the table, and he was receptive to our offer of help. We ordered a selection of most things on the shareable bar menu (many of them Happy Hour prices): including pepperoni pizza, boom boom shrimp, mac 'n cheese, onion rings, pretzel, plain cheese burger with fries, brisket taco platter, chicken quesadilla, and chicken wings. Everything was OK to good, with me really liking the crispiness of the well fried french fries and the well-filled quesadilla. I did get to share a couple of drinks with my nephew including a pint of Paulaner ($7.25) and HH drink of the week (a bourbon sour mix for $7). A cool feature at a Brass Tap is their leader board: a Brew Crew Hall of Brews where patrons that have drunk at least 100 different beers at this location get their name listed. read more

These service was relatively fast, we got in and out within an hour. The server was very nice and helpful in guiding our choices in what we ate. I ate the Asian barbecue chicken sandwich and it was phenomenal. The breading was great, the sauce was delicious, and the contents complimented each other nicely. Another member of my group ate the fish and chips, also complimenting the breading. I would advise getting a fried dish here as it was delicious. The ambience was average bar type decor. We are regulars here, my go to for a cold draft beer any time. Huge selection and often a $1 off some draft if you get here early enough on week days. This particular location has the best Impossible burger anywhere. Legit. Recently this location changed their fries. Their new freezer bag fries suck big time. They have good bar food other wise. My family love coming here, as do my friends and colleagues. Srsly we come here so often my credit card hurts. Service is not amazing but as long as you know what to expect it's fine. It's not bad, just think more European in nature. :) They have many events here, and keg taps. Just the closest thing to a bar we have in Allen. It's my place and I love it. read more

A happen chance find after a wasted trip for yet another failed Facebook business connection meeting that put me in a lousy mood. Great beer selection, pub atmosphere, and some really good prices for IPAs and specials. Both exotic canned and draft beer. Next time I'll try some of the draught beer selection options. A new place with a friendly new staff, definitely worth a stop if you need a break from traffic or want to explore lunch options. I've been coming here off and on for about 3 years. Service has alerts been consistent. Amazing. I have my regular spot but when I make it here I am never disappointed. I sit at the bar and 3.5 seconds later the friendliest bartender is ready to take care of my needs. Need a recommendation? ASK. I have not been disappointed with the knowledge. Even when it comes to food. Your people know what they like. I've had various items of the menu and again I have not been disappointed. Regardless of what I order I'm texting my friends they have to try "this" the next time they make it out. Honestly, consistency is a hard thing to find. They are achieving it at this location. I'm not sure if it's training or you're just hiring the right people. I'm a people watcher and your bartenders know hire to read their clientele. Friendly. Ready to start a conversation. WELCOMING. If you just want to sit at the bar and exist, they make me want to come back. That VIBE is there. As for price it what you spend? Listen if you're putting a price on a good time, stay home. I come here OFTEN mostly to see levi when he was behind the bar and he's always been fantastic and also promise is a great server! Levi hasn't been behind the bar recently so i sat at a table as i prefer him. Today the bartender made my beer on ice (which is a first and i've been bartending 8 years) and didn't she know how to make simple shots like white teas...i had to send the drinks back and levi had to go make them. I was pleasantly surprised by Brass Tap. Have never been and seen a bunch of locations around DWF so decided to stop in for a drink. And my oh my! A beer drinker would be in love. They have too many taps to even count of mostly craft beer and a nice range of local/Texas breweries. They are also a full service bar with your expected liquors and domestic beer. Bar area has lots of seating and so does the main dining with a server as well. I did not try any food and just had a liquid lunch but everyone who ordered at the bar (a pizza and a salad) cleared their plates. Music was a good level and bathrooms were clean. ONLY 2 complaints from my visit is the parking lot is a little small (but there are spot just further down the strip) and the windows are so tinted I couldn't tell if they were open becuase no sign was on. read more

This place has went down hill and in a hurry.. about a year ago this was the spot to be. All the staff were personable and friendly. One by one management has made bad decisions and let them walk. Now this place is a ghost town. Staff can't make basic mimosas without 1 part champagne to 10 parts orange juice. The staff is rude and waits around. Shoutout to the chef because the food is always consistent. Owner should be ashamed they let so many people walk. After being faithful for over a year, I'm giving up on this place. Brass Tap was having a Crawfish Boil, so we decided to check it out. The crawfish was amazing. We also tried a cheeseburger w sweet potato fries. Everything was very good. We will definitely be back to try more of their Bar foods. Additionally, we will return when they have another Crawfish Boil, as well It's a friendly, sports bar environment. She gave us suggestions on what to order. If you're not a beer person, they do have a full bar. I couldn't decide what food to order, but she had some recommendations. I came to this place on a whim because I was looking for burgers and nachos that I haven't tried in the area before, and bam this promising place came right up! All the pictures and stuff looked nice and the size of the patty on the burger was exactly what I was looking for. So, I decided to give this place a try. The environment was lively, pretty much was I expect out of a cozy bar, and the servers were all very kind. Exceptional service. I ordered the Steak Nachos and the All-American Pub Burger with Tots on the side. The All-American Pub Burger was decent. The patty itself was a bit lacking in flavor, and I only got a small thing of ketchup to split between my tots and the burger, so the burger came largely sauceless and flavorless. The Tater tots were fried to perfection, which isn't saying too much, and the Nachos were easily the best part of the meal. The queso was melty and delicious, the steak was tender and sliced thinly, and the portion was very good as well. If the burger was a bit better I'd say this place would be a solid 5/5. read more

The boom-boom shrimp was my personal favorite. Highly suggest you order the majority of the foods off the happy hour menu and proceed to drink as much beer as possible. Call UBER/LYFT when ready to go home. Avoid that DUI/DWI. Full tummy and appreciating a good buzz. I'd like to suggest a sasion beer: DFH Unencumber Antelope 10. It's really good. A little overpriced for $10.50 a glass. I'd also like to suggest the Agave Americana 16 at $7. If either of these are on tap. I'd order them. The sasion may take a while to pour because of the head. Worth the wait. It's tasty! Saison is a pale ale that is highly carbonated, fruity, and spicy. Historically, it was brewed with low alcohol levels, but modern productions of the style have moderate levels of alcohol. This one had nice flavor. As always the service here is spot on. Great neighborhood bar! Came across it as we needed a place to eat before our son's hockey game. They have 50+ beers on tap, friendly service and very good food. Hubby got their wings and loved them...he's picky about his wings too! He got crinkle fries with his...he loves food crinkle cut fries and they did not disappoint. We Love this spot! Been to Allen Texas three years in a row for national wrestling tournament and it's about 2 miles from our hotel. I think we've been here 5-6 times. Great bartenders and beer selection. This time I got a Southwest chicken flatbread. It wasn't something that would blow you away by y the looks of it, but WOW! It was good. I want to bottle the poblano cream sauce and put it on all of my meals. Needless to say I will be ordering this again next time. My friend had the Mac and cheese and added buffalo chicken to it. It was legit. If you're looking for for some good eats and beers you got to go check this place out. Every time we've been there they've been packed...always a good sign. Enjoy! Love this place! The food is consistent and the service is always EXCELLENT! Every employee at the Allen location is really good and knows the menu and beer selections. Kelsey is the bartender who is on staff when I usually go and she is THE BEST!!!! She knows my beer preferences and immediately makes recommendations based on what is on tap at that time (the taps/kegs get changed out regularly). Top that off with her always smiling face and you have a great experience EVERY time I go. It has been a while since i have been back to this location due to the Corona Virus. I finally went back and the food is a good as i remember it and the beer is just as cold and refreshing, i did have a problem with one of the bartenders / servers named Hailie. I will warn you that if you go and get her she will spoil you when it comes to any other server / bartender. She is the nicest, most personable, funnest, and down to earth person you will meet. Within 5 minutes of walking in I felt that i had fun into an old friend (and i do not mean to imply that she is old, quite the opposite) Don't get me wrong, all the servers there are fantastic, but usually when you are new and don't know the regulars you take a while to warm up, she didn't. I highly recommend that if you go to ask for her, or at least say hello. Tell her Brian said hi. On another note, if you like ciders the Mango Habanero Cider is wonderful. read more
