Our first time here. Thursday early evening and the crowd was growing. Because we had our service dog, we opted to sit outside. The outdoor area is covered in atrocious turf(fake grass) with nice clean table and chairs. There are large connector four games and a few corn hole games. Fun for all ages. It was a very chilly evening and lucky for me I had a blanket to keep me warm. There were no heaters outside. We ordered a flight of margaritas, a jalapeño pretzel and cheese curds. The pretzel itself was soft and good. I was hoping for a more of a cooked on jalapeños on top with maybe w/some cheesiness. However, the jalapeños were more on the raw side. They were still okay and tasty along with the cheese sauce. The cheese curds were outstanding. Who doesn't like cheese curds?! The staff was very busy but always stopped by to take care of us and take any additional orders. I recommend this establishment and I will definitely be returning. read more

i quite enjoyed the experience. the food was amazing, trust me. the crispy chicken sandwich with everything on it was AMAZING. the service was great, but it took long for our food to come. there were so many tvs and stuff.. this would be great for a bar party or etc. I found funny that the baby chairs were so small, they didn't reach up to the high top tables lol. The service (shout out to Omar), and food (Mac & Cheese Bites, Hot Honey Pizza, and so much more) are the reason my friends and I go back on a weekly basis... the karaoke, DJ's, and other festivities are just the cherry on top. I really love wings but I asked the waiter to make a suggestion. In her recommendations she said they have good wings, among a couple of other items. I ordered the wing basket with Gilroy garlic fries with half dry-rub, half sauce wings. I could tell right away that the wings were old and frost bitten by the look of the skin, which had just a thin smear of sauce . The dry rub ones tasted really bad..The wings were extremely dry and hard. I cut them with a knife to try them. They were fried with what looked like heavy breading and tough and dry. The fries were good, I wouldn't say great. My husband had a steak sandwich which he said was ok but def not great. read more

We tried Brass Tap again and were disappointed that they don't allow food on the patio. With kids, the back patio for kids to play was the big draw. Without being able to order food there, I'd say this is not kid-friendly at all. Additionally, all TVs were covered/not viewable from the back patio. I really hate writing reviews like this but it has to be said. There's an employee here who wears more cologne than I've ever encountered. I could smell it on myself for half an hour after I left, and he was only near me for a few minutes. I don't know how his coworkers work with him eight or more hours a day. The food was fine. I had the jalapeño pretzel, wings, and blackened fish tacos in Hollister yesterday. The pretzel and wings were amazing (ragin Cajun and Korean). The blackened fish tacos were kind of bland. I had the trio chips and dip here today. The queso was good. The salsa was good but awfully sweet for salsa. And the guacamole was funky and I couldn't eat it. The bartender had the owner try it and said it was fine and that it's freshly made each day. Okay, to each his own (I wouldn't have written anything except the cologne thing). No drinks in Hollister but I had a Bloody Mary, the flight of margaritas, and a Guinness here in Marina. The Bloody Mary was fine but no slice of bacon as advertised. The margaritas are all way too sweet. And the Guinness was flat. Service was good so I tipped well. I just don't see myself going back. read more

Went back to give them a second chance. 100% better. Was greeted and got a table quickly. Our server was very attentive. She answered all our questions and provided excellent service. The food was very good and arrived in an acceptable amount of time. We had an American Pub burger and chicken nachos. I think they improved from over a year ago when I first visited the establishment. The beer and cocktail lineup looked great. Next time I go I will try the beer or margarita flight. I had high expectations for The Brass Tap since it seems to be a popular spot, but overall I left disappointed. The local beers were good, and I'll give them credit for that. The garlic fries were flavorful with a generous portion, and the chicken sandwich was decent--crispy and tasty enough. But the steak? Completely unseasoned, very bland, and it didn't even come with the caramelized onions that were pictured on the menu. Service was another issue. It felt like they were understaffed. Our waitress wasn't the friendliest, and it took forever for anyone to ask if we wanted another round of drinks. By then, my mouth was dry from eating with nothing to wash it down. Since they have a bunch of tv's everywhere, I asked the bartender if he could put on an international soccer game. He never changed the channel, so I had to stream it on my phone instead. That meant connecting to their WiFi, which requires giving up a bunch of personal info--not ideal. The atmosphere wasn't much better. The tables are packed too close together, making it feel crowded and uncomfortable. We wanted to sit outside, but apparently they don't serve food outside once it gets dark, so we were stuck indoors. Also, small detail but worth mentioning--the beer menu was just wrinkled computer paper, which made the place feel a bit careless. Overall, it feels like more hype than substance. The beer is good, but the food is hit-or-miss, the service is slow, and the vibe is crowded and uncomfortable. Next time, I'd rather go somewhere with better food, friendlier service, and where they actually put the game on. read more

We stopped by before a movie for a beer and some eats and we were thrilled to try Brass Tap! We ordered tacos, fish and brisket, respectively. Both were amazing and each came with chips and salsa. New Favorite Pizza! We are staying in Marina for the week before heading home to SoCal. It was our first time visiting the Brass Tap last night. We were with our pooch so I looked for a place that was dog friendly and had pizza. Bingo! Our server sat us on the patio outside. It was a cool evening but the part of the patio we sat at was sheltered and had ceiling heaters. It ended up being as comfortable outside as it was inside, and our dog was happy. Our server was delightful and the service was perfect. We all got our orders in a very reasonable amount of time, and our server checked in with us regularly to make sure we were doing good. I ordered the Brass Tap Classic pizza and it was absolutely delicious! They nailed this pizza, a pizza my sister and law and I consider a "serious" pizza lol. There is a do-it-yourself pizza chain place down the street - we've both eaten at one of their restaurants in the past and agreed that while it's novel to be able to customize your own pizza, it's not a 'serious' pizza, one that you'll absolutely love and remember. The Brass Tap Classic pizza is a pizza I will remember - and I'll look forward to it every year when visiting Marina. Spending a week on the beach in Marina Ca is a holiday tradition for us - I look forward to making The Brass Tap part of that tradition! read more

Went their for a second time hoping it would be better. What a disappointment! The location and venue is beautiful however service is slow. It takes so long to get a beer, the first time I went it took 45min. I thought maybe cause it was busy, but this second time I went it was dead and it took almost 30min. Food is also awful tasted like microwave food. What a let down I really tried to like this place. But not going again until I hear from others that food and service is better. read more

I came here with a group of 4 friends for the first time and a server named Julia made a really rude comment towards our group because she was not happy with the tip that was left for her. After we closed our tab and gave her a tip she passed by our table and smacked it and stated " next time keep the tip, you need it more than me". This encounter was very inappropriate and did not leave a great impression for us. Her attitude against us felt as if it was racially motivated. We notified some staff, but we really hope it reached the management. Please choose your servers wisely. read more

Came in on a fairly busy Friday night. The building and the atmosphere looked really well put together and inviting. We were seated and quickly welcomed by our server. He was really kind and provided amazing beer recommendations. We wanted something local and he pointed us towards the Mai Tai IPA by Alvarado street brewing and it was a HIT! The Peace Love & Haze was also an excellent recommendation. We ordered Brussel sprouts and took his suggestion and tried the boom boom shrimp and aye they were boom boom delicious!
