Our first time here. Thursday early evening and the crowd was growing. Because we had our service dog, we opted to sit outside. The outdoor area is covered in atrocious turf(fake grass) with nice clean table and chairs. There are large connector four games and a few corn hole games. Fun for all ages. It was a very chilly evening and lucky for me I had a blanket to keep me warm. There were no heaters outside. We ordered a flight of margaritas, a jalapeño pretzel and cheese curds. The pretzel itself was soft and good. I was hoping for a more of a cooked on jalapeños on top with maybe w/some cheesiness. However, the jalapeños were more on the raw side. They were still okay and tasty along with the cheese sauce. The cheese curds were outstanding. Who doesn't like cheese curds?! The staff was very busy but always stopped by to take care of us and take any additional orders. I recommend this establishment and I will definitely be returning. read more

I had high expectations for The Brass Tap since it seems to be a popular spot, but overall I left disappointed. The local beers were good, and I'll give them credit for that. The garlic fries were flavorful with a generous portion, and the chicken sandwich was decent--crispy and tasty enough. But the steak? Completely unseasoned, very bland, and it didn't even come with the caramelized onions that were pictured on the menu. Service was another issue. It felt like they were understaffed. Our waitress wasn't the friendliest, and it took forever for anyone to ask if we wanted another round of drinks. By then, my mouth was dry from eating with nothing to wash it down. Since they have a bunch of tv's everywhere, I asked the bartender if he could put on an international soccer game. He never changed the channel, so I had to stream it on my phone instead. That meant connecting to their WiFi, which requires giving up a bunch of personal info--not ideal. The atmosphere wasn't much better. The tables are packed too close together, making it feel crowded and uncomfortable. We wanted to sit outside, but apparently they don't serve food outside once it gets dark, so we were stuck indoors. Also, small detail but worth mentioning--the beer menu was just wrinkled computer paper, which made the place feel a bit careless. Overall, it feels like more hype than substance. The beer is good, but the food is hit-or-miss, the service is slow, and the vibe is crowded and uncomfortable. Next time, I'd rather go somewhere with better food, friendlier service, and where they actually put the game on. read more

New Favorite Pizza! We are staying in Marina for the week before heading home to SoCal. It was our first time visiting the Brass Tap last night. We were with our pooch so I looked for a place that was dog friendly and had pizza. Bingo! Our server sat us on the patio outside. It was a cool evening but the part of the patio we sat at was sheltered and had ceiling heaters. It ended up being as comfortable outside as it was inside, and our dog was happy. Our server was delightful and the service was perfect. We all got our orders in a very reasonable amount of time, and our server checked in with us regularly to make sure we were doing good. I ordered the Brass Tap Classic pizza and it was absolutely delicious! They nailed this pizza, a pizza my sister and law and I consider a "serious" pizza lol. There is a do-it-yourself pizza chain place down the street - we've both eaten at one of their restaurants in the past and agreed that while it's novel to be able to customize your own pizza, it's not a 'serious' pizza, one that you'll absolutely love and remember. The Brass Tap Classic pizza is a pizza I will remember - and I'll look forward to it every year when visiting Marina. Spending a week on the beach in Marina Ca is a holiday tradition for us - I look forward to making The Brass Tap part of that tradition! read more

Went their for a second time hoping it would be better. What a disappointment! The location and venue is beautiful however service is slow. It takes so long to get a beer, the first time I went it took 45min. I thought maybe cause it was busy, but this second time I went it was dead and it took almost 30min. Food is also awful tasted like microwave food. What a let down I really tried to like this place. But not going again until I hear from others that food and service is better. read more

Bad service, super slow and crowded, some of the staff is kind of rude, food is okay, beer kinda warm.

I came here with a group of 4 friends for the first time and a server named Julia made a really rude comment towards our group because she was not happy with the tip that was left for her. After we closed our tab and gave her a tip she passed by our table and smacked it and stated " next time keep the tip, you need it more than me". This encounter was very inappropriate and did not leave a great impression for us. Her attitude against us felt as if it was racially motivated. We notified some staff, but we really hope it reached the management. Please choose your servers wisely. read more

Came in on a fairly busy Friday night. The building and the atmosphere looked really well put together and inviting. We were seated and quickly welcomed by our server. He was really kind and provided amazing beer recommendations. We wanted something local and he pointed us towards the Mai Tai IPA by Alvarado street brewing and it was a HIT! The Peace Love & Haze was also an excellent recommendation. We ordered Brussel sprouts and took his suggestion and tried the boom boom shrimp and aye they were boom boom delicious! The service is slow. We were seated on a table but the server NEVER came back. No one ever checked on us. I finally got up and order drinks and food at the bar. My son wanted a basket of fries. The bar tender saw we were seated on a table and said I needed to order from my server. Where are they ?? Ambience is weird. My sister and I decided to stop for lunch last weekend. There were only 2 tables occupied on the patio when we arrived. We sat down at a table (you seat yourself here) right in the middle of the patio. We noticed two different servers helping the 2 tables. They passed us several times no eye contact, no acknowledgment whatsoever. We were there for 20 minutes meanwhile more tables filed in. A couple of them received service and a couple of them did not. In this 20 minutes, I helped myself to menus and water. I finally walked up to the bar placed my order for both food and drinks. A person who I assumed to be the manager came over and apologized. She offered an appetizer or dessert complimentary, which I thought was a nice gesture. As we waited for our food I observed 2 other tables that were completely ignored, while some tables had different servers coming to check on them and help. I wonder if they do not assign areas and the servers are confused on which tables are theirs or not. Regardless, it takes little effort to look around the room, smile, make eye contact and ask "have you been helped". The bartender that helped me and the "possible manager " that I spoke to were very friendly and apologetic. The problem is I kept witnessing it happening to other tables as well. When I received the bill, we did not have anything complimented. We paid and left. On our way out we noticed that there are some new restaurants coming soon. They will need to correct their service issues or they will start losing customers to the other options. read more

I asked for a condiment and a side of ranch. 15 minutes later I had to walk up to the kitchen and request the items from a different server. We were never offered a refill on fountain drinks. I think our experience would've been different with another server, but I'm not writing a hypothetical review. It was frustrating watching our server tend to a table that was clearly being occupied by people he knew personally while neglecting my wife and I. It took almost 20 minutes for him to stop at our table. It took another 10 for 2 waters and a can of beer. In took about 40 additional minutes for our food that almost certainly sat under a heat lamp for an extended period. The burger was cooked unevenly, which is actually impressive because I hadn't seen a restaurant do that before. I actually wanted another beer, but our server once again took so long that I decided not to bother. Instead of trying to upsell us on desert, he actually asked ME if I wanted the check. I never asked for it. I just said "sure" because clearly this guy was trying to be rid of us. He stopped by the table his friends were at more than ours even after they had vacated the restaurant. I'm not sure how an empty table being bussed by someone else warrants more attention than the paying customers 4 feet from you, but I was pretty annoyed. I'm not sure if the employees are running a scam here or if it's the owner/manager. My group was told several items on the menu did not actually exist and that the server just "made something up" when they were ordered. We were also told that several items were on special but after ordering them we were informed that they were actually full price, but that we would be charged the quoted price. We were charged full price. When I complained, they agreed to redo the bill to include the discount -- but the employee (and the supposed manager, who I suspect was actually not) added the charge back on the bill invisibly (i.e. it was incorporated into the total but was not listed as a line item anywhere). I tried to return two days later to talk to the actual manager and found them closed during regular business hours, but with employees inside. When I called the location, I was told no one could speak with me and that I should take up the issue with my credit card. The food was mediocre, the beer menu was large but unimpressive, and the restaurant was generally dirty and unpleasant to be at. However, by far the biggest issue is that the place seems to be scamming it's customers. read more
