Ordered immediately for the kids and it took 55 minutes for food to come out (one order of fish and chips, which is actually fish and tater tots, but that's not what the menu says). I ordered my meal within 5 minutes of the kids and as I was trying get the check 65 minutes in, the food came out (cold and not as described, I had a scramble, which didn't have country potatoes, but tater tots, the other scramble in the menu specifically said tater tots, so I was actually expecting country potatoes). I had to ask for a box which took 10 minutes. Ended up throwing away the food, cold eggs and tater tots aren't that appealing cold. $65 if the meal had been served on time and warm, I would have been ok with. Tossing a meal and paying that felt like a complete rip off. Also the table behind me had to get the waiter's attention because there was a dead bug in her meal. They severed her quickly after, but she was there (with kids) for much longer than us and we left before her family. This seems like a place to have a beer, not a family meal. read more

Went here tonight and it was absolutely amazing from the start to finish. When I first got there, a gentleman (I think manager?) took me to my table and gave me the run down. We met friends here while visiting the area. We had to wait a while for tables to open up for our larger party. There was a large outside area with corn hole games and patio seating. It was worth the wait, the service was excellent! The food was pretty good; I ordered a Chicken Club Wrap and split and Caesar Salad with my man. To be honest, I don't get the hype around The Brass Tap. I get that it might be exciting for Marina to have a spot like this, but at the end of the day, it feels like just another poorly run chain restaurant. What really stood out was the lack of attentiveness. It was a pretty slow evening that day and us along with another small family were the only ones seated in the back patio area. Anyways, when we finally got our food, no one checked in on us while we waited. No drink refills, no "how's everything?"-- nothing. My partner finished his drink before the food came and would've liked another but it just didn't happen. Once we were done, my partner had to go inside just to grab the check and a to-go box-- that shows how much we were checked on, or lack there of. My partner was so disappointed with the service that he didn't leave a tip--which is very unlike him. We try to be understanding, especially with busy restaurants, but that just wasn't the case here. All in all, it wasn't a great experience. Not sure if we'll be back anytime soon. read more

Terrible service. Came today on a saturday employees are understaffed per waittess. They are very unorganized every food that came out waiter came from table to table asking if the food was ours. Until he found the correct table. Waiters/no one came to take our order we had to wave a waiter to be attended after waiting for a while and to check on refills. waved a waittresss next to our table and instead of acknowledging she kept talking with the customer and ignored us and went on to her business though she saw us. This is my second time first experience was amazing but it seems like when its super busy they are not well coordinated. Either they are just not interested in working or need alittle more training. It was a little busy but not packed; and we couldn't see a waiter or waitress anywhere. It was another 5 minutes before a waitress showed up; she was attentive and we had hope. We placed a drink order at 3:55 but we still didn't have it by 4:15. Even worse, as it finally showed up at the bar station, it was evident that my drink was wrong--it was a rose, not a Chardonnay. My wife and her girlfriends came here a week or so ago on a girls trip and mentioned that they enjoyed it. So naturally, my wife and I along with my mom came back down to verify that the BRASS TAP craft beer and Kitchen and spirits is an excellent place to go. The prices are quite reasonable and the service is excellent! Not only were we able to catch up on a variety of sporting events with all their screens, but we also enjoyed the shrimp, and the chicken wings. I had such a great visit to The Brass Tap in Marina--a fun, relatively new welcoming spot with delicious food, wonderful service, and a relaxed, lively vibe both indoors and out. The staff was friendly and attentive from start to finish, making the whole experience even better. I started with a peach mocktail, which was absolutely delicious--refreshing, perfectly balanced, and beautifully presented. For my meal, I enjoyed their Chicken Nachos, and they were incredible! Just as described on the menu, they're piled high with fresh tortilla chips topped with melted cheese, grilled chicken, pickled red onions, pico de gallo, jalapeños, sour cream, and a drizzle of house-made queso. Every bite was bursting with flavor and perfectly satisfying. I was also glad to see many options for vegetarian meals, too. I'm already looking forward to coming back soon for one of their popular Brunches, which sound amazing. While we had an apologetic bartender, we sat with empty drinks for about 15 minutes with no acknowledgement. We had some appetizers and a couple drinks. The beer was cold and a great selection. Cocktail menu was fun and had good options. We ordered lemon pepper wings and a jalapeño cheese pretzel. The wings were bland and I've posted a pic of the odd serving for what they called a jalapeño cheese pretzel. The cheese sauce was actually the shining star of our food order, but we were definitely underwhelmed. We'll be back. I understand new restaurants take some time to figure things out. The Brass Tap is located in the flourishing Marina area and has quickly become a favorite for locals to watch a game on one of the several TVs or an establishment to go to relax with friends and family in a sociable environment. I recently spent a few nights in Marina with my sister and brother-in-law, and one evening we stopped in at their local bar walking distance from their home, The Brass Tap, during Game 3 of the NBA finals. The buzzy, casual lounge decor and swanky front bar provided a high-end vibe, but the pop-cultural offerings had an extremely low-culture attitude. Walking into The Brass Tap was as warm as a perfectly poured pint - a packed-to-capacity, energetic welcome that culminated in seating at a prime table. In the center of the bar, allowing us to sit in a horseshoe formation so we could nurse our tap beers and drinks of choice and pace ourselves while watching the fast-paced game on all the TVs that ran around the periphery of our tables, and directly opposite of the bar. The menu had it all, meat-eaters, vegetarians, and pescatarian choices, and our waiter was attentive and friendly. We decided on the Pepperoni Pizza and Chicken Sandwich which rounded out our "pre-game" orders and oh the Frrrrrrrries - which was on their happy hour special! Crispy, and tasty (although we had to ask for additional pepper and salt) to soak the crispy fries into with of course RANCH! All were ordered - done well - rounding out my taste buds. Portions are all very reasonable, the pizza is the perfect small size because you know how we ladies like to nibble on our food. OH BOY! The Old Fashions were done well, judged by a San Francisco fine cocktail enthusiast - me! To sum it up, it gets a high nod from me as a spot in the Marina for watching your sports team of choice (or if watching the game is not your thing) to grab a drink and a bite to eat. Needless to say, it is a great place to hang out with friends or family members. It does not matter if you live in the area or just visiting, the food, great beers on tap, and buzzing atmosphere itself are destined to captivate your heart. New well thought out building, plenty of wait staff and bar tenders, a nice menu, plenty of good choices of taps, inside and outside seating, a full bar, tv's all over and corn hole. As we were sat the waitress did say that they were al little backed up in the kitchen. 2 1/2 hours later were done. We put our app. and drink orders in right away as the waitress suggested. This was the timeline as I remember. Fifteen minutes after ordering we received our first beer and the others came separately after that. The taps are separate from the kitchen...right. Thirty minutes after that our appetizer arrives (chips and dip) with one of our entrées, a pizza. 40 minutes later my burger and our other entrée arrived. And we're out of beer. Visited on a Friday early evening and the place was busy, but not packed. Was ignored at the front entrance, so our group of four made our way to the patio. On the way we asked a couple of employees about seating and was told the patio is self serve. After getting a table I went up to the service bar to order. Chaos best describes the activity behind the bar. After waiting about 10-15 minutes, a service person asked me what I wanted. Ordered three drinks, paid and waited another 10 minutes to get two of the three drinks. Service person claimed she didn't hear the third drink, which was a diet coke, so paid again and waited. Fortunately, we didn't plan on ordering food, because I would hate to find out how long that would take. The only reason for not giving one star is that I like the concept and the patio vibe, plus being new there is always a learning curve for staff, so hopefully the service will improve. read more

They are still in soft opening. Went on a Sunday and it was busy but not overly crowded. Love the beer selection. We thought service was excellent. We both got burgers and fries. Burgers were great and fries were good too but had a weird chewy texture. Didn't like that the outdoor area was closed to food. It is beer only and you can see in the background sunny and no people. They need to fix that. The open air area adjacent was cold because of the wind and I would have loved to have lunch out in the sun. It was a beautiful day. People who had sat down 15+ mins after us had gotten their food and drinks before us. margarita flight taste more like puree than actual tequila. i had the hot honey pizza which was good just a little doe-ey. second time, which it's been a couple months since they have opened was hoping for a better experience as far as the food/drink wait. our server was very nice and attentive, & had some good recommendations. she brought out the drinks pretty quickly. the food however took a really really long time. our server did apologize and inform us of the back up in the kitchen and did offer us a discount. so we appreciated that. we will probably wait several more months before we come back just so the kitchen can get into the groove. other than that the atmosphere and ambiance is very nice, and would be fun for groups out on the lawn. Today we ordered Alvarado street Monterey beer, and some IPA's for food we had the white caprese pizza, and my bf got the pub burger, and we shared a caesar salad. Everything was very good. I have been here three times now because it's close to my work, so each time it was the middle of a weekday and not busy at all. The service is just so slow. It's not even a matter of staffing, they're standing around on their phones or talking. Maybe it's the kitchen?
