This little breakfast/sandwich shop is in an area void of any other choices so when you have to be in this industrial area and need a bite...fine. It's a clean little place that is run efficiently by friendly people. But the food is just acceptable. I ordered the "hot marinated grilled chicken salad" because it says in the description that it has grilled chicken. This was absolutely not what it was. It was definitely canned chicken. The CHUNKS of chicken...(not hot, not marinated, and not grilled)...had to be broken apart with a fork like canned tuna. (As a matter of fact, at first I thought they gave me tuna). The lettuce is bagged iceberg, as evidenced by its bagged salad taste. I've been here several times only because I have to be across the street from time to time and have a short time for a quick lunch but it's always just ok and acceptable but never enjoyable. Please at least change your descriptions to be accurate. If you don't grill chicken, don't say you're using grilled chicken. read more

They have something on the menu for everyone. I typically get the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The prices are about average. They have a lot of seating inside with several coolers full of beverage options. If you do come here during lunch on the weekday , I would recommend calling ahead your order. On occasion, the line is quite long and you'll have to wait for your food so if you have a short lunch, I would call ahead and place your order. If you work in the area, I would definitely recommend stopping by here for breakfast or lunch! The employees are always polite and prompt. After visiting this side of town, I was looking for a breakfast spot to grab a sandwich for my long ride back to my side of town and this was it. I walked in and was overwhelmed by the menu behind the counter. They had tons of breakfast and lunch items and I didn't know where to start. Along with their huge menu, they had handwritten signs all over the place. There were too many to count. It was like they got bored and made up some sort of breakfast/lunch special and started posting them all around the counter area. The gentleman who took my order was very nice and I went with the ham, egg, and cheese sandwich on Cuban bread to which he responded with, "Do you want mayo on that?" Everyone has their opinions on normal Cuban sandwiches and mine is that mayonnaise does not belong on it. I would have loved to see the look on my own face when he asked me that question. I declined the mayo and gave him my payment. Do people actually put mayo on breakfast sandwiches? That sounds gross. My food was out in a few minutes and when the gentleman handed it to me I was shocked to see how heavy it was. I knew it was going to be good just by the size of it. I then walked over to the condiment station just to grab a few extra napkins and everything was very neat and organized. All of the condiment packets were in a drawer and were all labeled. I passed on condiments since this is a breakfast sandwich and was on my way. I got to my car and at the next red light I was digging into my sandwich. The Cuban bread was very soft and fresh and wasn't toasted at all, which I prefer for a breakfast sandwich. The eggs were scrambled perfectly and there was a hefty portion of a ham and just the right amount of cheese. It was a perfect sandwich and for $5 it was one of the better value sandwiches I have had. The portion was so big that I couldn't even finish it. It's big enough for two people to split. I've mentioned in past reviews that I love going to mom and pop places for breakfast sandwiches because for the money it's a better value and they're made to order. I'm surprised by previous reviews / reviewers here. I found the guy behind the counter to be very rude. The person who brought my food was nice but the counter guy was not! I asked for a recommendation and asked what was the specialty and he said everything like he wanted me to just go away. I got a Cuban sandwich and the bread tastes old, the pork was terrible and there wasn't much meat. Overall a very poor excuse for a Cuban sandwich at a place that is supposed to be mostly Cuban. This place has good food but its nothing special. They are very clean and are quick to make orders. Their "famous" Cuban is nothing but sliced deli meat. Go to Ybor if you want a REAL Cuban. The staff is very friendly EXCEPT for Armand, the little foreign man behind the counter. He's extremely rude to his employees and belittles them in front of customers. 9 times out of 10 of my visits he's always yelling at his employees over something so ridiculous. We had ordered from Bread Basket for a while. We had bad food and a few employees get sick. We ordered and had the driver come very late so he did not receive a tip. He told us he would make sure we were last on the delivery route going forward. We stopped ordering for a while and tried them again. This was for the LAST time. We were told it would take 1 hour for the food. We were ok with that but it took over 1.5 hours for our delivery. Tipped only $2.00 due to the delay. Later after lunch, we received a call from the Bread Basket telling us they can not deliver for only that amount. They went back through other orders we had and were reprimanding us, as the customer, for their bad service!!! Unbelievable. I ordered Breakfast for 10 co-workers and they did a fabulous job with a variety of egg sandwiches! Everybody said they enjoyed there sandwich and it was a great balance of egg, and meat. The owner John, even offered me a free cup of coffee while I waited for my sandwiches. It is the small things to me that huge difference, since I was in early in morning he even took the time to tell me about their business and how it has grown in recent years. So glad we stopped in, after driving by for more than a year. Restaurant is extremely clean, comfortable, and bright. Gentleman at the counter was very nice, as was the gentleman who brought out our food. Prices are fantastic. The food was very good. I ordered the Good Morning Breakfast- 2 eggs over medium, bacon, home fries, and whole wheat toast. Everything was cooked perfectly! No grease! My daughter ordered the Half Biscuit Breakfast, which was a split biscuit topped with sausage gravy, 2 scrambled eggs, and hash browns. She loved it. I also had a Cafe con Leche. Yum! When I got the sandwich I discovered that what made their's special was the addition of lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. As anyone would know that is not a cuban sandwich. I am going to have to get a second job as a stripper just to keep up with my obsession for this place right here! I seriously battle with myself daily on whether or not I can just keep the steering wheel straight instead of turning into their parking lot. Alas, I lose this battle every morning. I am obsessed with their chicken Caesar salads. They do not skimp on the chicken and those homemade croutons are to die for. I enjoy my salad with the balsamic which appears to be homemade as well. I have had many other dishes such as their Cuban, California chicken wrap, and their breakfast special with home fries which is particularly good after a night of boozing! (Gotta feed the hangover, ya know?) The food is only a fraction of the reason why this place is so special though, because the people who work there are phenomenal as well. They are all so friendly and know me by name and also know what I want as soon as I walk in. I guess the theme song from Cheers was right...sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name!! IF there is even a con to this place it's the fact that it is only open until 2:00 p.m., other than that I suggest you stop by and have a bite.
