    So many choices!

Wow, what a great place for lunch. The building doesn't stand out, but the food inside does! Four of us are in town for business and this spot seemed like a good/quick choice for sandwiches. Nate paid for my food, so it wasn't much of a for me. Two of us got cheese steaks, while the other two got the Cubans. We all agree this place deserves all 5 stars!

During my first visit, I ordered the Cuban sandwich for which they're known. When you go inside, you can go straight to the register if you're planning to just get a sandwich. The lunch special includes a side--I got the big bowl of yellow rice and black beans. The sandwich was delicious. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and served in generous portions. I asked the owner (Frank) about his favorite meal. He told me to return on Thursday to try the pigs' feet. So I did.... and... wow! Pigs' feet = lots of bone, small amounts of very tender meat. I can't say I was a big fan of the pigs' feet, but now I can eliminate "eating pigs' feet" from my bucket list. (Okay, they weren't on my bucket list but I'm adding them to my list of accomplishment nevertheless.) If you eat here, strike up a conversation with Frank. He seems like an awesome guy who is very passionate about this little hole-in-the-wall. He arrives super early every morning to prepare the daily specials. And, yes, they're open for breakfast at 6.30a every weekday morning. I'll try that soon.

My sister and I were looking for a quick brunch spot near our Airbnb and Campfired wasn't too far. The setup & decor looked really cool - like glamping indoors - so we decided to check it out. Upon arrival, you pull up to what looks like a corporate office building. Pretty random, but we love an adventure. We were giggling as we walked through the halls, passing by the offices of city officials and judges, thinking "how is there a brunch spot in here?" There was clear signage to guide you to the right place, and sure enough, we stumbled upon the little planty oasis that is Campfired. This is the definition of a hidden gem. The staff greeted us right away and allowed us to choose any table we wanted to sit at. It was a weekday morning so it wasn't too busy. Our server was very friendly and took our coffee order. We got 2 iced cafe con leches which were very tasty. For food, we just wanted to share a couple items so we got their classic deviled eggs topped with crispy salami, the butter candle served with two croissants for dipping, and a side of crispy hash browns. I will say that the service was kind of slow, but I only saw one server the whole time were were there, so she was doing her best. Once the food arrived, everything we had was very tasty. We weren't super hungry, so it was just the right amount of food. Other reviews have mentioned that they get pretty busy on the weekends, so I'd suggest making a reservation if you plan to go then.

Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I won't be returning. I stopped in around 3:00 p.m. and was happy to see it wasn't busy. I went to the deli counter, waited for someone to serve me, ordered my chicken salad, grabbed a soda and chips, and headed to the open register. As I walked up, the cashier called another customer over ahead of me. I waited while he spent several minutes deciding whether to pay cash or by card because of the 4% card fee. I continued standing there with my three items, to the point that I actually set them down and debated walking out. Then, instead of helping me, the cashier motioned for an entire family to come to the registereven though I had been standing there waiting before they arrived. After that, she waved over another customer, and I had to wait while a mother and her two teenagers decided which desserts they wanted. Again, I stood there patiently. When it was finally my turn, there was no greeting, no "thank you for waiting," nothing. The first thing I was asked was, "Do you have a pickup order?" I said no. She then motioned for my chicken salad container, saying she needed it. I placed it on the scale and set my other items on the counter. The cashier then asked, "Are you okay?" I simply shook my head because, honestly, I wasn't. Instead of recognizing why I was frustrated, she continued talking, making comments, and escalating the interaction rather than simply ringing me up. At that point, I asked, "Do you want to argue? Do you want me to go back and forth with you?" I then asked who the manager was. She pointed to a woman beside her, who identified herself as the owner. I asked if she could ring me up instead. Even then, the cashier continued making comments. It was only after she continued engaging me that my voice became louder in response. Rather than addressing the repeated comments from her employee or asking what had happened, the owner immediately said, "Do not raise your voice at my employee." That response was disappointing. There was no concern for the customer experience, no apology for repeatedly being skipped in line, and no attempt to resolve the situation. There was also no acknowledgment that the interaction had been escalated by the cashier's continued remarks before I ever raised my voice. The irony is that I have spent a significant amount of money catering from Frankie's Deli over the years because my customers love the food. Good food will bring people in once. Great customer service keeps them coming back. Sadly, this experience ended that relationship for me. There are plenty of places with great food, but respect and customer service matter just as much. One final thought: this is Florida not NY. Hospitality goes a long way. The aggressive, dismissive attitude I experienced isn't what I expect when supporting a local business. I won't be back.
