All searches for a breakfast/brunch place led us here. We were staying in Monterey, and when looking for recommendations this place kept popping up. There's ample parking in the plaza, so it should not be a concern. We went on a weekday morning, so it wasn't crowded but the looking at how at the familiarity between the staff and some of the customers, it seemed like a local favorite. The staff was very sweet, and place seemed very chirpy, the place reminded of a good old diner. All the staff was very sweet. We got the Quintals omelette, and it was my first time trying refried beans in an omelette and it was definitely something we'd try again. It was a nice little place to have breakfast or brunch. It is a little small, so I'd totally expect a waiting list for those busy times. Because we got there closer to lunch, I opted for a double burger over the breakfast options. I asked for medium rare, but they definitely overcooked the temperature of the meat. The burger was good enough, but didn't blow me away. Nothing groundbreaking, just a burger at a small local joint. The garlic fries were just alright. I've dined here twice and on both occasions the service has been great! Friendly staff, quick to get seated, drinks and food come out quickly despite them being busy on weekends! I've had their classic breakfast and it is all so delicious and fresh. Their cinnamon roll French toast is a must try, it's on the sweeter side so I'd recommend a half order but it is crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside and it's got a cinnamon swirl and nuts - a must try! Their biscuits and gravy were okay, I think the gravy could've been more flavorful, the biscuits were good. Stop by for breakfast on our way to Monterey. We decided to stop here instead of one in Morgan Hill as we wanted to be closer to our destination. We pick Breakfast club as we thought the omelet would be same as other location. Place was busy for a Wednesday. GF got the veggie omelet added ham and cheese and I got ribeye steak as I been craving steak and eggs. Omelet we like the stuff mix in with the egg then fried. Not just fold it all in. Might as well had the veggies on the side. It was ok but disappointed as we were expecting it to be like the other location. I got the steak as I asked server if it was good and she said super good and huge So was excited only to be very disappointed. This place was busy busy. We waited not too long, but got sat in a corner so our service was real slow. Took forever to even ask for napkins and silverware. The Tuna Melt was basic and the fries tasted like they came straight out of a bag from Walmarts frozen section. My son got Chicken and Waffles which wasn't bad, but the hash he got was basic and the bacon was hard as a rock. I couldn't believe they even brought it out to us like that. The food and the service were the only good part about this place. The food was good but the Home Fry's were both Undercooked and Overcooked. I thought this was a pretty traditional breakfast type place. They have all the usual offerings for breakfast and the setting is clean and comfortable inside. Service was also good. I thought the prices were a little high, but not terribly so. I ordered the Traditional French Toast which goes for $13.95. They gave me three large slices of french toast. Most other places typically cut the slices in half and give you six pieces, but honestly that's just to make you think you are getting a larger serving. This place was so good and what really made it great was the staff. After waiting at another place for almost an hour in Monterey, my friends and I decided to come here instead. We signed up and waited along with a vast number of people. While we did have to wait a little more they asked if we wanted to sit outside, a lot people hesitated cause it was chilly n windy but their outside tent had heating and the wind was blocked. We joked with our server not to forgot us since we were outside, and she reassured us that they wouldn't. And they deliver. Staff were incredibly attentive, always checking in on us, dropping coffees and drinks and handing us these large creamers (that made me laugh). Everyone of the staff that was attending other tables outside always checked in. They were wonderful :) As for the food, it's legit. Out of all the food I had that weekend it was hands down the best. And the prices were perfect after being in Monterey and Carmel. My friends n I split a pancake that was hella good on its own with no syrup, topped with berries. I got a chile verde omelet that just hit right. Legit the best I've had as well. Pork was tender and the verde sauce was delish. I would def drive down here just to eat here again. read more

Wow! A short wait on a Sunday to get a seat, quick service to get drink orders in and delivered to the table and the kitchen staff is quick to get the food out once orders go in! The chile verde omelette was phenomenal! I was still thinking about it the next day! A classic hash brown order and biscuits and gravy on the side, created a filling meal! Food was great! Service was lacking so I knocked off a star. We found a seat quickly, although they were pretty busy, with our drinks brought by one the guys who cleaned off our table. The cinnamon roll pancake was very sweet but delcious. Our server never came back to check on us, although we saw him walk by multiple times and unfortunately seems to be common with service these days. I was able to get the attention of another worker who brought me a box and asked him if he could find our server for our check where he showed up soon after. We would definitely be back because the food was so good and I highly recommend the Chili verde omelet, as has a lot of flavor and a decent portion of meat. Today at about 1 PM I was in the Monterey Seaside area and had an occasion to stop by and try the breakfast club. we went in and chose a table and our server. Tia was very nice and got my wife started with some bacon and eggs with toast and hashbrowns and a large orange juice as well as a side biscuit. I started with bowl, no sugar no milk with blueberries, strawberries and raisins. It was nice and thick and I really enjoyed it. I even took about half of it to go. In addition I had the turkey avocado eggs Benedict with the side of home fries with vegetables. And finally, I got a waffle. Well, done to split with my wife. Everything was delicious the eggs, Benedict, the waffle the oatmeal, the bacon and eggs and the biscuit. I'm giving them 4 stars only because my family loves this place and comes here often. However, I didn't enjoy it as much as they did. This is a super casual breakfast bar, great for large family gatherings. One thing I didn't love about the place is that on the screens they display advertisements on someone's dog breeding business. I'm against breeding dogs because eventually, so many of those dogs end up in shelters. Anyway, moving on to the food and service. I ordered the veggie omelette and it was full of green peppers and it was pretty watery inside. It wasn't much of an omelette, it was more like an egg tortilla filled with veggies. It wasn't salted at all, I had to put a bunch of garlic salsa from a bottle on the table to give it some flavor. The house potatoes were nearly mashed potatoes. My husband and I tried it for the first time and we we're so disappointed. I ordered their huevos rancheros with hash browns and it lacked so much flavor, not even salt and pepper could save the dish. My husband ordered the 2 egg breakfast with steak and still, it lacked so much flavor. We honestly lost our appetite and headed off to KFC instead for some drumsticks LOL. Seating was a bit unorthodox but quick as we caught the attention of someone at the back counter who held up menus and we just pointed to an open table and met them there. The food offered included breakfast and lunch items. The choice generally were what you'd expect ranging from a lighter fare offering of choose your own toppings oatmeal to omelettes, egg dishes and chicken fried steaks along with pancakes, etc. I had the Italian omelette with sourdough toast and hash browns. I'd never had an Italian omelette, and found it savory and fulfilling. Another of our table had Ron's omelette and described it as with bacon, tomato, cheese which sounded like a version of a California omelette. Regardless of the name, it was delicious. We walked in and the place was moderately busy. We were quickly greeted and got a table. A few moments later a friends staffer came over and took our drink order. Less than 5min later our drinks arrived and we were able to place our breakfast order. The food came out quickly and was AMAZING! We both cleaned our plates and staff took them away. We dropped off a car for service and had some time to kill and my Yelp! search led us to The Breakfast Club. We were greeted warmly and were immediately taken in by the vibe. We put in an order (which came SUPER fast... that's a plus) The food was pretty good nothing too special but it was a simple breakfast. The restaurant was cute and had plenty of seating. We finished eating and this is where the service fell short. As we were waiting to pay and leave the server looked at us a few times. Went to other tables to cashed them out and then proceeded to go to the bar and have full blown conversations with other people. I waited about 5 mins or so. I ended up finding another server to pay our bill so we could leave. I don't remember her name but I hope the manager or someone has a tally with her. Treat all your customers with same respect. Let's talk about the food. The staff is ON IT. They are quick, efficient, nice and know how to turn and burn tables. I love when a staff stays on top of things. The food was mediocre. Unfortunately my experience with the brunch/breakfast in Monterey continues to fail. The biscuits and gravy were bland and awful. They said they were spicy and maybe had three red pepper flakes in the gravy itself. Needless to say it wasn't spicy. Monterey for the love of all that is good please if you're going to cook Southern a recipe find an honest legit recipe. Try it so you know how it's supposed to taste instead of winging it. The hash browns were as good as you can expect. The eggs and pancakes were fine but nothing to write home about. I didn't personally try the sausage so I can't speak on that. read more

10 out of 10 would not recommend. Service is awful and the food doesn't look that great in person. After navigating the extremely busy parking lot. We arrived to the restaurant where lots of tables were available. However the host is insufferable and on a bizarre power trip. Some patrons are told to sit anywhere while others are told to wait as you can see from the pictures no one was waiting outside. When questioned about our seating, as apparently seats were available, we were told " oh yeah I was just getting the table ready" although several patrons who showed up after us were seated right away. Like I said bizarre but no worries. We are off to spend our well earned money elsewhere. I was off put by the bad smell anyway. So everything works out as it needs to. The gravy was pretty good, spicy, and not too thick. All the food was either luke warm or cold which was disappointing. The coffee was a mild blend without much flavor but it was hot. Breakfast before tip was $21.75. Its obvious the staff like each other because most times they are huddled together behind the counter. The dining room consists of approximately 25 tables each with 4 chairs that can easily accommodate small groups. There is also plenty of parking in the strip mall where they are located. read more
