Decided to try a different breakfast spot than our usual place and I am glad we did. From the moment we arrived we were greeted and welcomed. We had the option of indoor or outdoor dining. Based on previous yelp photos I decided to try the Cappuccino and I am glad I did. Made with LavAzza coffee I felt like I was in Italy again. My husband and I decided to share the combo plate. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, chicken sausage and a homemade biscuit. The salsa that it comes with is amazing so don't skip it. The portion was large and plenty for two people. The food was fresh, and flavorful. While the food was great, I think what makes this an amazing spot is the team. Each person was attentive, very friendly and made sure everyone had what they needed. I think we discovered a new spot and plan to be back. Oh and I love that they have a sign out front about providing a sandwich even if you can't afford one. read more

My husband & I stopped here for brunch on 07/20/25. We ordered the corned beef hash & the chicken pot pie. -Taste: Their version of corn beef hash was definitely unique & not a version I had encountered before. The meat was in cubes with veggies & a white sauce. Given that information, it had no flavor. The sauce was watery & barely added anything to the dish. Similarly, the chicken pot pie was incredibly creamy with not enough seasoning to balance it out. -Service/Staff: Despite being sat by the entryway, staff barely checked in on us to see if we needed anything. On multiple occasions, they checked on other groups around us, but not us. This was slightly upsetting as we felt invisible. -Overall: This place was just average. I heard lots of good things about this place and was looking forward to trying it but It was really underwhelming. All our food had issues. The lemon ricotta pancakes were as hard a cardboard and very difficult to cut through, what a work out, although they were tasty. I had the biscuits and gravy my friend had the eggs Benedict. The Canadian bacon was so thin like deli meat and it was fried hard. The biscuits in both of our dishes were dry and hard. The potatoes on each dish were only cooked half way so kind of raw and not crispy at all. They're really stingy with their sauces here and if you want extra there's an extra charge for each sauce. Each dish could have used more sauce. They do serve fresh squeezed orange juice but it was served Luke warm I had to ask for a glass of ice. The service was ok, theyre very busy in there, no time for any interaction. When she checked on us she didn't ask how our meals were, they were pretty bad. Absolutely loved this place! They had great service and the food was delicious. They had plenty of seating inside and small amounts outside but the place is located in a very nice neighborhood driving to it we saw a family of deer. It is definitely a step above IHOP or Dennys but nothing too fancy. Food definitely had lots of flavor and the presentation was great. Delicious brunch options! We tried the lemon ricotta pancakes, OJ, and the baked kale and corned beef dish. Pancakes were so fluffy and the lemon sauce was nice and tart! The baked kale dish was super unique--I've never had anything like it. The béchamel sauce is light and not too heavy. Great balance of flavors and not too salty. This is one of those places we just keep coming back to! The staff are really friendly and the food is always great! One of the waitresses said that she hadn't seen us in a while after we spent quite a while taking care of our newest baby, it really made us feel connected to the people here and also made us feel like our presence is truly felt. Many choices on Lighthouse Ave. in PG for breakfast or lunch ... and Winston's is one of the better options. The space is crowded and we ended up at a "community table" for six. That worked out fine with two parties of two at either end. DH and I planned an early dinner so opted to share a sandwich for lunch. The Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich with fries was delicious! Generous portion and not an unreasonable price ($19) considering the high quality. The one odd thing was the tea service. The cup was too small for tea ... double espresso size. The red Stash tea bag and Bonne Maman honey packet added color to the service. But $4.75 seemed high ... same as a latte or cappuccino. Stash is a decent brand but nothing to get excited about. Next time I'll stick to water or splurge on a Bloody Mary. We're keeping Winston's on our list for future PG visits. We'll try to go earlier and enjoy one of their more traditional breakfast items. read more

Small wait time on 8/8/26 it was about 15-20 minutes on a Saturday morning so not bad. Inside is pretty small but not too cramped and outside had a few tables. As we were waiting we noticed the workers gave a couple people sitting outside blankets so that's super nice, especially because it was a cold foggy day. Luckily, we got seated inside. We ordered the combo plate, french toast and a side of potatoes. Starting with the french toast, pretty small serving but super good, syrup was tasty too. Eggs were cooked very well, i like them fluffy and moist and these hit the spot, the bacon was even better, nice and crispy. The potatoes were very good, honestly could've been better had they been cooked a little more to be crispy and the bigger pieces were not as soft in the middle. i definitely still recommend this spot though! read more

Never doubt a place that has a long wait like. There were other restaurants around that didn't have a wait but we figured we'd put our name in for Winston and walk around. Totally worth it. Cute inside and they clean up quickly between customers. They don't overpack so you can get in and out easily. Service is also good. Staff is courteous. Food not only looks good but IS good!!! We ordered: Patty Melt - big portion! Looks like a double patty but it's just huge when they stack the halves on top of each other. Fries are crisp. Butter Leaf Lettuce Salad with Chicken - amazing presentation! The dressing was a big hit! Really good. Ahi Tuna Burger - devoured by my son. Excellent. Avocado Toast with a poached egg - Delish!!! I recently had brunch here with my family and enjoyed it! It was a busy Saturday and we were a party of 9, so we expected the wait to be a while. To our surprise, we were seated within 15 minutes. Food was okay. I liked my eggs Benedict alright, but the eggs weren't cooked consistently; one was perfectly oozy and the other was hard boiled. Hubby was not a fan of the goat cheese omelet. He said it was "meh". Daughter said her burger tasted good but dang... it would have been so nice to have a burger option that wasn't double-patties and $20. We asked if it could be made smaller and the server said nope. So we wasted an extra burger patty for absolutely no reason other than to make punching the order in easier, I guess. We ordered two coffees and were asked if we wanted more when our cups were half empty. We said sure and appreciated the service. Until we got our bill and they'd charged us for 4 coffees. I called the server over to inquire if refills weren't free, prepared to lobby for the fact that ours had only even been half topped off. She apologized for the error in charging us for 4.... but that seems really sketchy. I'm a pretty benevolent person but someone had to actually punch in 4 coffees at some point. That's not an error. I wonder how many people actually look at the bill... Total for 2 adults, 1 kid, and zero alcohol came to $80. Dear lord. I was a bit disappointed as Winston's came highly recommended. The restaurant is very casual and not interestingly appointed. Very basic. There should be some attention given to noise abatement. The volume was extraordinarily high. We were six and had difficulty conversing. We were recommended to order the chicken pot pie. Unfortunately, we found it to be more like a bowl of soup than a chicken pie. It actually called for a spoon. I ordered a tuna melt which is normally a favorite sandwich, but this one was a huge disappointment. It had been prepared with a variety spices that overwhelmed the tuna. With a day trip to Monterey Bay last fall to get a break from a weeklong Bay Area heatwave, I unintentionally spent the entire day at Pacific Grove for some fall vibes without stepping foot into Monterey or Carmel, a first for me. We discovered a local favorite Winston's Brunch Place and luckily the wait wasn't too long. We enjoyed the three mushroom omelette which was served with a side of hash browns, a salsa sauce and a nice flaky biscuit. We were able to identify two types of the mushrooms but couldn't tell what was the third. We also enjoyed a panini sandwich which has a generous amount of cotto, salami, fresh mozzarella, spinach and a tasty aioli spread. The sandwich was huge and bigger than we expected. My order: Avocado toast with a poached egg (total $19) that also comes with a huge side of garden salad. We had a very nice Sunday brunch at this beautiful restaurant in Pacific Grove. I had a well prepared salmon Benedict on a homemade biscuit and my wife had the corned beef hash. Both were delicious. The only small issue was that it was a rather cold windy day for late Spring and with the door open our food cooled off fairly quickly. I'm long overdue for a review of Winston's! I usually go for the lemon ricotta pancakes or the eggs Benedict--both of which are consistently excellent. But last week, we came in closer to lunchtime. My girlfriend ordered her go-to BLAT (always amazing), and I decided to try something new: the smash burger. Now, I'm not typically someone who orders burgers or steaks, but wow--this was exceptional. So exceptional, in fact, that we came back the following week and ordered the exact same lunch. The smash burger is made with wagyu beef, thick juicy slices of tomato, butter lettuce, melted cheese, a perfectly toasted brioche bun, and their secret sauce that ties it all together. I turned to my girlfriend and said, "This is the best burger I've had in my entire life"--and I'm no spring chicken! Funny enough, just minutes later, a woman walking by asked how I liked it, and I told her the same thing. She said she'd be back to try it herself.
