We had family in town and knew they would love this spot. We were seated outside below the patio under a huge oak tree. The weather was perfect. Some of the things we ordered were biscuits and gravy and London broil omelette. If you love pancakes, this place is for you. I got the blackberry pancakes with lemon glaze. The pancakes were so thick and melted in your mouth with fresh blackberries cooked in the batter. No yucky canned fruit here. The lemon glaze is so good I didn't need syrup. Yesterday , my wife Paula, I and our son Jimmy went to brunch at "The Breakfast Cottage" in Nokomis Florida. As you walk up to the building, it has a cheery Bermuda feel to it with vibrant colors in abundance . . . a hand painted decorative sign reads "This is our Happy Place" and it surely is ! We were greeted and shown to our table right away. The main room is decorated in soothing pastels with local eclectic artwork for sale on the walls. This place has a very nice friendly feel to it! Our waitress Michelle was smartly "masked up" & very nice as she welcomed us and took our drink orders. The "Arnold Palmer" (Iced Tea & Lemonade) I got was delicious; one of the best I have had; free refills too ! Then came the Main Attraction, the brunch. Jimmy's baked tuna salad sandwich was huge and he devoured it! My BLT was also delicious featuring five slices of Applewood smoked bacon, fresh beefsteak tomato slices, crisp rommaine lettuce and just the right amount of Mayo on a flaky Croissant. It was nicely complimented by a fresh slice of cantaloupe and yummy cheesy grits! My wife enjoyed her Texas French Toast served with real maple syrup. Overall, we all loved what we got. Bathrooms were spotlessly clean and prices were great. The whole meal was only $31 for all three of us, a real bargain ! Had a wonderful brunch on our first visit. Love the decor, very comfortable seating, lots of room between tables so you're not squashed together. We ate inside to enjoy the air conditioning. The outside deck was very lovely with plenty of shade. Easy to find a parking space either in the front or back of the building. Our server was friendly and very attentive. She took our drink order right away and brought it out quickly. She described the specials and gave us a couple of minutes to make a decision. Our food came quickly and was delicious. We ended up ordering the specials as well as a flavored tea and a cold brew iced coffee. The prices are a little high, depending on what you order. My husband and I each had the biscuits and gravy, sweet tea and fruit. He had 1 glass of chocolate Milk, as well. He added 2 eggs. We asked for some extra gravy. Everything was an additional charge, unbeknownst to us. Our bill was $56.00 WOW!!! (the biscuits and gravy was a half order at that) We like the food but I can't justify $56 for breakfast. We've been coming here because of the INCREDIBLE food. Mom loves the French Toast with pear compote, pecans and caramel. Plus it's entertaining for mom because of the colorful decor and more. They have great coffee, free and easy parking and it's not too loud which are all huge pluses. Today we had the pleasure of being served by Terry. She has a high degree of common sense and treats people like she'd want to be treated. I think she may be the best server I've ever had and is a real joy. I like that she helped me by packing up leftovers (real pain for me and greatly appreciated since I have one hand). Also she made sure the table wasn't cramped and only brought what we needed.
