So excited that this cute breakfast place opened up so close by! At least when I went, you didn't need a reservation, although this was close to when they first opened. The staff was very kind and sweet. The food was excellent with great quality ingredients. The portions are massive so there will be plenty of leftovers. The pancakes are also perfectly fluffy! I will definitely be back and I'm glad they opened in the location they did.

Super cute place for a nice breakfast! Clean, lots of dining space... booths and tables. Friendly welcome and attentive for coffee and water. The orange juice is a must - juiced right in house. Nice portion sizes and omelets loaded with plenty ingredients . Get the pancakes instead of toast- and get the pecans included- outstanding!

This was the new restaurant to try and it's a retread from the previous restaurant and it even looks the same. The massive stone fireplace in the middle of the dining room is surrounded with seating. My service was good and no issues there. I ordered the country fried steak, sunny side up eggs, extra crispy hash brown and sourdough toast. My plate didn't take long and looked great. The eggs were cooked perfect. The hash browns were cooked perfectly with a mix of crispy golden potatoes and soft white potatoes. The sourdough toast was a let down because it was commercial average and could pass for white toast, not the artesian good flavor with that nice chew. I have country fried steak all the time and it's the same bland frozen commercial restaurant food service. My first thought was wow this country fried steak is tasty with a nice golden shell, noticeably tasty with the first bite compared to my regulars. The country gravy was creamy but commercial average at best, there is a can in the grocery store that I use at home which is tastier. Overall it's a solid breakfast restaurant but I probably won't be a regular because it's a hall because I don't live anywhere near it.

Breakfast and coffee were good. Service was attentive. Our server took good care of us. It's great to have a nice place in the area. Diner lovers will be happy with it, too.

The Breakfast Place has quickly become one of my favorite... breakfast places! Been four times in the past couple months and have not had a bad meal. The skillets are big and deep with crispy hashbrowns. Love the pancakes that come with pretty much everything. Highly recommend!

Great ambience awesome atmosphere great service. I wish I would've have taken inside pictures because the place is nicely decorated. It's vivid, refreshing, just cozy makes you feel like you are at home with your family. having an awesome meal. Food was delicious. Everything was perfectly done. I had the avocado toast with the pico de gallo on top. That was the perfect thought. It was so good. Highly recommend it definitely will be coming back.

Mimosa is consistent in the quality of its meals and service…read more I appreciate the friendliness of the staff and the layout & cleanliness of the restaurant. I need to come back to try their items for lunch. Definitely the best breakfast & brunch in Brookfield.

At one point, I worked as a restaurant and wine critic in NYC. One of my favorite restaurants,…read morecalled Dean Street Cafe, was located across the street from my apartment. They made a terrific burger with a slab of blue cheese topped with tart pickled red onions. But their signature dish, if you will, were the perfectly cooked handcut french fried they served with their burgers. The fries were long, expertly crispy and pillowy soft inside. The last fry was as crisp as the first. My brother, a chef from Ohio, came to visit once and I took him there. His eyes popped at the first fry he ate and exclaimed, "Damn, someone in the kitchen cares about potatoes!" That happened to me the first time I ate at Mimosa. I ordered an omelet with the house breakfast potatoes, which taste like they are slowly cooked in olive oil until fork tender and crispy on the edges. Easily some of the best potatoes I have had in MKE. Then I reached across the table and stole a handcut french fry from my daughter's plate. Late in the meal, the fry was still warm, brown and perfectly crispy. "Damn", I said, "Someone in the kitchen cares about potatoes!" Then disaster struck. The regular french fry cutter die must have broken in the kitchen, and now they cut the fries terribly thick like Lincoln Logs. Sure they're still beautifully brown, but because they are so think and have a higher moisture content to surface area they simply cannot get crispy enough. Within a minute of the hitting the table the logs of fries are soft and soggy, and no amount of fry time will help. If it were not for the great fry debacle, a story I have yet to confirm with the restaurant, Mimosa would easily be one of my few five-star restaurants in the MKE. The menu is large and offers something for everyone. Including many gluten-free and plant-based options for myself, old school corned beef and hash for my dad, terrific south of the border specials that my wife loves, and plenty for our kids. Sure the fries were once legendary (and I hope the chef will read this and order a replacement die for the fry cutter), but if you've made it this far in my review rest assured that every dish here taste like it is cooked by someone in the kitchen who cares about their craft, and the house potatoes are an (almost) fine substitute for what was once Milwaukee's best french fry.
