Worst experience of my life. Took an hour & half to get our food. They forgot two meals. We had to walk up and get out our straws, then silverware, then refills. Yo! I was passing through town on my way to Appomattox and stopped here on a whim. Wow! Excellent service and great food and beer. I got the Tennessee tangy wings and they did not disappoint. Honestly some of the best wings I've ever had! They also have a great selection of local beers. The Death March IPA was awesome. If you're anywhere near this place, give it a try! read more

First Impressions: Our first visit here was OK. First off, let me say that the place looks amazing! Whoever did the work is to be commended greatly on their style and craftsmanship. I'm sure it was a costly and time-consuming project. The menu is diverse with ample offerings of interesting entrees and sides. I didn't order from the bar, but I kind of wished I had, because some of the craft beers sounded very appealing. Wednesday night, and just out for a quick meal close to home. I had the 8 oz. ribeye, ordered medium and cooked well done, but in the cook's defense, an 8 ounce ribeye is a pretty skinny cut of meat. It arrived a tad colder than I'd hoped and more done than preferred, but OK. My wife had baked chicken (a leg and thigh). She said it was done well and served hotter than my steak. Well-seasoned and tasty. We both had the broccoli casserole, which was very good. Portions were decent. Overall, it was a good dinner, but I feel like the pricing may be about ten percent higher than comparables in the area. We'll give them another try one day, but I'm not exactly gushing over the place just yet. read more

Where do I start. This place has really ruined my day and deserves no stars! They treat the military VERY poorly. We came in as a group and all ordered burgers. It took us TWO hours to get our food and it would've been longer if we hadn't said anything, they didn't even realize that we had been waiting that long. After that, excuses followed and none justified how long it took to get our food or even being acknowledged. In the end the manager ended up throwing 15% off but it wasn't sincere; she wasn't apologetic! Poor customer service. I advise people to never eat here, if you still decide to after reading this post, huge tip: BRING A SLEEPING BAG AND A LOT OF PATIENCE BECAUSE YOU'RE GONNA BE IN FOR A LONG ONE! read more

Went off the beaten track to try out this place I found on Yelp. Great selection of beers. The burgers are the best. High quality meat. Staff were gracious and welcoming. The whole atmosphere was very cool. I only wish I had been able to hang out longer. I definitely would recommend taking the time to stop by the Brew House in the quaint and laid back town of Blackstone. I'll be back. read more

By far the worst service I've ever experienced. The waitress was entirely unfriendly and avoided checking in at our table. Mind, this was during lunch hours and aside from one woman eating, we were the only group there. It took maybe 20 minutes between getting our water and drinks and actually having her take our orders. Well, well, we'll, I really don't know to start this review! My husband & I just had lunch in this restaurant. The menu was great however the waitress informed us of a number of items that were not available, like fries, slaw, Philly cheese steak, etc, (with a added comment that they were always out of something). We did have a nice side salad and a mushroom/Swiss Burger that was ok and on the cold side. They were under staffed but very nice, the atmosphere was on the dark night bar side. The Big Bacon CheeseBurger was excellent and cooked to perfection. The homemade potato salad is excellent to purge my taste buds. I came in a 2:00 pm the only problem that I have is when I run out of sweet tea. I drank two glasses to the ice cubes and eventually asked for a to go cup when I left. It is slightly pricey for the area $15.88 for a big bacon cheeseburger which was about the size of a quarter pounder at Mc Donald's, a reasonable helping of potato salad, and a glass of sweet tea. I will definitely be back to get at least the potato salad. I will right a second review on that lunch. read more

Came for a quick bite and a beer. Great beer selection and food was delicious. We had the buffalo bites, spinach artichoke dip, and Philly cheesesteak-- all had really nice flavor. Staff was attentive and place is very clean. Plan on coming back when visiting family. read more

Neat little place with a fun ambiance. The wait staff is friendly and attentive and the price point for what you get is about right. Nice variety of place settings. That noted I was underwhelmed by the food - inconsistently cooked burgers and some of the smallest tacos I have ever seen. We didn't try the drinks or coffee so no comment there. read more

Had lunch here while visiting family with 2 young children. Was not busy on a Monday. Good toys for one grandson. Ordered off lunch menu. Food was OK. Service was exceptionally slow. Waitress gave us menus then disappeared for 10 minutes. Came back took our orders then we waited another 10 minutes for the beer. Was told they no longer carried the berry wife ordered. When sandwiches finally came the fries we ordered were wrong. Ordered one of each, got two of the same. Asked for bill only to see higher prices on the bill than was listed on menu. Waitress did correct the bill and apologized. The grand kids by this time were past nap time and acting up. Slow service, wrong order, and overcharged. Ambiance was good though. read more

Had 6 people in our party. 4 people were served their hot food, with no word on when the two that had ordered cold sandwiches would receive their food. After speaking two 2 wait staff, still no word on the missing food. Finally, someone came to our table to inform us our waitresses shift had ended and she failed to put in our complete order. She was very apologetic. Both of the owners/managers, who were there, never bothered to stop by our table. That act would have gone on a long way in leaving a better impression of the establishment. They need some help with the espresso. Not good at all and it's expensive. Maybe I am jaded since I have had espresso from all over the world and know what good espresso tastes like. The atmosphere and décor is great. The food was just okay. I have been to this establishment twice. The first time I waited almost one hour for my food and had to leave to get back to my lunch break at work. The second time I tried the buffalo chicken wrap. It was okay. Nothing special or memorable. The coleslaw was good. My friend had a Caesar salad and she said the dressing tasted odd. The fries were okay, but again nothing special. I really think doing hand cut fries would set you apart versus the fries you have. The fries to me did taste like typical frozen style fries. Just nothing special. I hope this establishment works out because it has great potential. If I would have any suggestions please great people immediately as they enter the door and work on the menu a bit. I don't think people mind paying the price as long as the food is really good and memorable. read more

The atmosphere was nice. The food was not good. Don't order the meatloaf, yuk. The broccoli dish was slightly warm on the edge, but cold in the middle. Their menu states sides included, but they charge you for them. When we brought it to their attention, we were told that is how it rings up. It took 3 people looking dumb funded and and a 4th to say we shouldn't be charged. Then when we were refunded the difference they didn't refund the tax and had no clue they should have. Well, me and a group of friends just left about 30 minutes ago. I have been to this place 3 times now. The first time everything was good, service, food and atmosphere. The second time food and service was good. Tonight was a total disaster! I ordered PBR beer and they were out of it.....well, not out of it, but none cold! A couple of the other guys ordered other food and beer items and they were out of several things. After about 20 minutes of placing our order the waitress came back to say they were out of Reuben sandwiches. He ordered something else. I ordered wings along with another guy. They were two separate orders, but they were all put on the same plate. We had to separate them ourselves. They also failed to cook the correct amount and brought me 2 wings later. The service was fine and our waitress was extremely apologetic. The beer prices are extremely high. The food is good...or at least what I've had, but pricey. The owners apparently don't care one bit about customer satisfaction or their staff. The owners seemed completely unconcerned about customer satisfaction or feedback. The only thing they have going for them is they are basically the only game in town. The Mexican joint across the street serves great food, cheap beer and they genuinely are concerned about customer satisfaction. read more
