Big moist delicious burgers cooked to perfection every time. I go back and forth on the nut burger (I'm not vegetarian but so delicious) and the beef patty. Have tried a lot of them but the teriyaki burger is by far my fave. Be sure to get the garlic fries which are tossed to perfection and pair it with their spicy ranch sauce made from scratch. Nothing has ever disappointed from the cold beers to the chocolate cannoli like dessert. Best restaurant in placerville - hands down. Love the misfit vibe in the staff - always super friendly and attentive. The servers (2 in particular - young man and colorful hair gal) are big factors why we frequent so often! This is one of my Most Favorite places in town. Great service and great food. My favorite hamburgers include the bbq pub burger and the bacon jalapeño burger, and my favorite pizza is the bacon cheeseburger pizza, and then there is the Ghirardelli chocolate calzone, all super yumms! Yum! This place doesn't look like much from the outside. Its part of a strip mall. Enter it, and it is large, tons of seating, and the decor is dive bar chic. Staff are very friendly and make great suggestions for orders. Our waitress recommended combining a couple of different ciders when my partner ordered a hard cider. The combo was definitely better than just the apple cider on its own. We started with the meatball entry. It was good but a bit unbalanced with garlic and tomato overriding the other flavors. This was made up for with the entrees. My partner had the chicken burger special which was delicious. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was spectacular- light and flaky, just firm enough to hold its shape. The crust was a perfect beer batter tempura. Highly recommend stopping in. read more

So I was looking for a new place to get a bite to eat, thought I'd try this place . I live here and had never been, now I know why. I arrived on a Friday night at peak dining time of 7:05 pm. There are a few tables with everyone having their food. I sat at their bar area, greeted right away by the server. Order was taken with a few minutes of arrival. Then I proceeded to to wait, and wait, and wait, I counted four people in the kitchen area, as it is in view. Apparently it was more important to prepare to close at 8 pm than to prepare my meal. After 30+ minutes of waiting the nice server says they overlooked my meal and were preparing it. After 48 minutes of waiting patiently I am now the last person in the place eating. I must say the burger once it arrived was good, however the service was extremely poor. For me, I will look elsewhere for a meal....one and done for me! Good luck! read more

Wow!!!! First off we came from out of town and dinned here based of their good reviews. But I feel like the people who give this place good reviews are locals. If you aren't from the area and if you are a person of color do not visit this place. The meal from start to finish was very uncomfortable. There were a group of people at the bar loudly making horrible remarks. Without saying everything I herd I will tell you when speaking about the police brutality protests one man said "aren't those called planet of the apes?" And everyone laughed, and agreed including employees. We were so in awe at how openly racist these people were. The cherry on top was when we left I took a picture of their "masks not allowed" sign just so I could joke with my friend show ignorant these people are. I wasn't going to review this place or even put that sign on social media it was seriously just because I hadn't ever seen a sign like that in real life. A white woman smoking outside followed me to my car taking pictures of me. like wtf? I took the picture for entertainment purposes only, what was she doing? So if you're the owner of this place could you please ask her because it was wild. Lol anyway if you're not from around the area you should NOT step foot into that restaurant. Located a little off the freeway in Placerville. We were joining a group from luncheon celebration. The group made a reservation and order to start within one half an hour during lunch. Restaurant was aware of order for eight pizzas. Staff greeted us upon arrival and directed us to our tables to the front. The tables were across from what appeared to be staff station for napkins and drinks. We were pointed to the drink station. We got our own water cups, napkins, plates. I would say we waited about one hour before some of the order was finally coming. Mind you this is a group of about 16 and eight pizzas. There were not many patrons in the restaurant. The restaurant has what looked like two ovens. About three of the eight pizzas make it to the table. Some of the pizzas came out cooked correctly and other were definitely burned black. The pizzas we ordered were basic pepperoni and some combinations including standard combo, Hawaiian, artichoke chicken. The other five pizzas including the pepperoni came about another half hour later. Pepperoni was the host of the party's preference to eat with all the guests. Where the pizza was not burned on the bottom, pizza was good. For the others, one could taste where the pizza sat in the oven too long and was black at places. Not sure what was with this restaurant. The group expected the pizzas to arrive relatively close to the being done at the same time. Overall a mixed bag of service and food. Not sure I would come back. read more

Danette's Brick Oven Pub is a local hangout with good bar food, a decent tap selection, five big screens for the sports nut, and friendly and attentive service. We'd found it on Yelp, on our way home from a weekend in Tahoe. For the uninitiated (like us), Danette's can be a bit difficult to find using Waze - so pay close attention or you'll be wandering the wrong corner like we were! The food all looked good, but our highlight was the fried calamari - they recommended it highly, and we were delighted. All in all, a good choice for great food and friendly staff. read more

Awesome fried pickles and the pizza was delicious (chicken, pesto, artichoke mmm!) There were quite a number of really good beers on tap as well. It's not the classiest joint, the clientele seemed to be a bunch of old, sun bleached, obnoxious drunk men (not really the restaurant's fault) but it's an awesome little dive spot if you want a break from the touristy places in Placerville. It was quiet when I was here, but has room for bigger parties of people and there are several big TVs around the room that would be good for watching a sporting event with a group of people. We've been here 2 times in the last 6 months. First time was good. I can't remember what we got for food but the second time wasn't all that and that was about a month ago. My husband had a pizza and it was so overwhelmed with sour cream or similar sauce he couldn't eat it. I think my food was good but I can't remember what it was. Guess it wasn't memorable. We ended up also getting calamari. DO NOT GET!! Was chewy like rubber and you couldn't eat it. Was basically frozen breaded calamari steaks cut in slices, then popped in fryer overcooked. I am going 5 stars on Danette's because this is good people trying their best to put out awesome pub food. You will notice in the review stream a few disgruntled folks because of service. Give them a chance folks, my service was excellent today, with 2 people waiting on us. Most of the "new pubs" in the County are overpriced and well not really better on food or beer choices over this place. Danette's has lots of taps, something like 5 classic IPA's alone and probably over 20 kegs going at any one time. They have large portions, good pricing and a spacious pub with TV's all over but not wall to wall either. It's basically a 2 section pub, so a large group would be really well served here. The wine is all local. There aren't many places that charge less than $5 for a draft any longer, but Danette's respects that line on even most IPA's. I enjoy the pizza and salads and the Rueben over the burgers. The Burgers aren't the very best, but they are solid. The wings are very nice and fresh. The lava cake dessert is very good for a crazy treat. Finally, there aren't many pubs in El Dorado County (PERIOD), we're a puritan working society up here in these dry diggin hills. I put Danette's in the top 3 list, and it's now my go-to place for a burger and beer. Food, Variety, Beer, Service, all A-1 today, and generally a fun Pub food time! Yum. read more
