Why is the staff so unwelcoming? I've been 3X, and each time we were treated like we were an annoyance. There is some weird vibe between the staff as well- we were ignored at a table upstairs and when we finally asked, the server said, "I don't know, I'm not working in this section " I don't know if they are unsupported by their management - and therefore just work in a frustrating environment- but I don't need to spend my time or money here anymore. The food was delicious and the large portions made the price well set since it ended up being two meals and a snack. I got the brisket sandwich with rosemary fries, both were fresh and well seasoned. So we didnt know how we felt about this place when we got here. It was late and the only thing open and the first thing you see are antimask stuff all over their windows. We went in starving and none of the staff was wearing masks. However they were all super friendly and kept a 6 foot distance from us. No bar seating. They had really good drinks and fast service. Not only do they charge high prices for the food but then you get charged for take-out for each individual order, using a credit card charge and.....18% automatic gratuity is tacked on. ALL of the food was COLD when we got it...plus the fish I ordered was probably Gorton's beer battered fish....at least that is what it looked and tasted like. Without buying anything to drink, our bill for two meals (a burger with fries and a fish dinner) and two desserts was over $90.00. Food and the customer service was horrible!! The food was very good but the waitress we had "sucked". We arrived on 6/8/24 around noon. We had 20 people for lunch. While was taking orders she would skip over someone and not take their order. She even ignored one table altogether. When the time came for the bill she other peoples food on our bill. We told her and she went back and reprinted another bill which was also wrong. She the got defensive and started blaming us for mistakes. As far as I am concerned she is a very poor waitress and should not be working with people. The only reason I give it 3 stars because my sandwich was good. Shout out to chef. However, the service left a lot to be desired. Our server was so busy chatting with the coworkers, she had her back to us most of the time. When she finally looked our way we asked for more napkins. I was a longtime fan and somewhat of a weekend regular here. Food is hit and miss bar food. Service is ok. Ambiance is awesome. Sadly, I no longer frequent the place due to their blatant disregard for WA state Covid rules last year. I actually don't mind that they have a different opinion than me, I respect that. My issue was they didn't respect my opinion (which happened to also be that of the state). Their signage was unnecessarily offensive and dismissive of people who have different views and real health concerns. Of course, the signage came down as tourist season approached and they realized it would cost them in their pockets. Hypocrites. This place is awesome! It's everything you'd expect from an old saloon turned dive bar! I mean, they even have a troph at the bar...functioning but not in use thankfully lol they sell merch, so if you love them; they have t-shirts, hats, and mugs. The menu is probably what took me by surprise. They have plenty of veggie/vegan options. They offer an impossible burger, which places in hipster neighborhoods haven't even started offering. It was very much appreciated. The rest of the menu is pretty typical, sliders, burgers, mozzarella sticks, salads, chicken strips etc. They have a seemingly varied and good selection of beer, but unfortunately I could not partake due to health reasons. We stopped in at the brick after coming up this direction for a family photo outing. I had read about the history behind this place and figured we should give it a try. What we found was an awesome combination of food, atmosphere and personality of the folks that helped us out. It was a big win! The tavern dates back to the 1880s and much of the history that has made this place impressive remains. The bar is the original from the late 1800s, shipped over from England and reportedly bought in Portland. The bar originally got its name from the 45,000+ bricks that were used to reconstruct it in the late 1800s. The historical and original stuff is in the main area on the corner, while the family area is just around the corner and basically in the downstairs of the building. You can get back into the bar from this area if you want to take a look, and it's pretty well worth it. We came in at about 6 o'clock on a Sunday evening. We were seated quickly and excited to see the offerings they had. They had plenty of beer options including a dozen or so Microbrews from around the state. I realize it's increasingly common everywhere, but it's really nice to be able to try a beer from the town you are in! We found the Roslyn brewery dark lager to be particularly lovely. Much closer to a porter or a stout then a lager, but not super filling and very nice before and during dinner. We were more surprised with the food here than we expected to be. Burgers, sandwiches and salads are the mainstay, but this pub food was actually really really good! I wife and a buddy both had a mushroom and Swiss burger with bacon, my wife also had a Fried egg on top of hers! She is totally boss level and everything, as it turns out! I had the brick burger - topped with provolone, jalapeños, a lot of bacon and an egg, it was legit! Two major observations here - #1 The amount of bacon put on these burgers is significant and absolutely awesome! #2 The physical burgers were some of the best we've had in a long time. The fries that come with the burgers here were also quite good. The rosemary fries were shoestring type, and good enough to eat by the handful. The crosscut fries were also excellent! Our waiter, who was the perfect amount of attentive, funny and helpful also made a great recommendation that we try the fries with tartar sauce. He brought us tartar sauce, fry sauce, ranch, blue cheese and catch up. This in addition to a small sample of the pozole so our five-year-old could try it to see if it was too spicy. The place was busy but the guy totally upped the game! After his recommendation we did indeed try the tartar sauce, and it was probably the best we've ever tasted. Much more like a ranch than a sour cream base, and it went perfectly on just about everything. The soup was also delicious. Just a little bit of heat at the end, but a perfect amount of flavor and overall quite delicious. It was recommended to use it as the au jus for a French dip - next time it is! The ambience of the place was just perfect. Football games are going on, nice conversation, not too loud and very acceptable for a couple of kiddos who had energy to be meandering about. I didn't expect to be as impressed with this place as I was. Gold star, A+ and any other accolade you can think of. This is a great spot, that's got a ton of history and the serving up some great bar food! If you're in the area, it's totally worth the stop to check it out. read more

Terrible service and cold food. Asked our server before ordering if she could give us our own bill. We were a table of 6. She said she could only divide the entire tab into half or by thirds. Very unique and historic bar that you must go see when in Roslyn. The service was just fine. The food was just fine as my bacon cheeseburger was pretty standard bar food but pretty good. The ambiance is great and you can feel the history of what claims to be the oldest bar in Washington State. From a sports bar standpoint, this place is ideal. It is huge and has TV's all over the place. They have my favorite bar table game in Shuffleboard which made me extremely happy as well. Glad I finally got to the Brick and would recommend that when passing through this neck of the woods, you gotta go check out The Brick. read more

A family dining area is offered for those with minors. The building is so old. History is everywhere in the Brick. Everything is big and spacious. Local beers are poured here. Way to support local Brick! We ordered a couple pints of Roslyn Dark Lager for $4.50 each. My bestie and I shared a cup of the Soup of the Day (Pork Posole) for $4.99. The soup had great flavor; however, the pork chunks were too big for my liking. My bestie is a carnivore so she devoured the pork. My wife and I shared the Chicken Bacon Ranch Burger for $10.99 and added on Onion Rings for an additional $1.50. Our burger had two large crispy chicken tenders, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and a drizzle of Ranch dressing. Very good and very filling. The onion rings were okay but still enjoyable. Our server, Ginger, was friendly and capable. Thank you Brick for providing a place where we can take a step back into time. Keep offering the easygoing atmosphere. read more
