Waffle fries

Love the vibe and history of the restaurant. The service was spot on. Multiple people came by to make sure we had drinks and that we didn't need anything. The brisket quesadillas threw me for a loop when they came to the table because they looked like tacos. My server answered my question before I could even ask. Even though they are served upright, since the cheese is melted, they are considered a quesadilla. I don't care what shape they come in, they were incredibly delicious. Don't sleep on the waffle fries. They are double fried and super crispy.

We stopped here on our way from Leavenworth after the flooding and power outages. We ordered the fish and chips with mozzarella sticks the food was great and had some nice conversation with the bartenders. It was cozy and warm in there with lots of seating. Would love to stop by here again the next time we come back from Leavenworth since we live all the way in Tenino.

One of the spots we were most excited to check out during our trip to Roslyn was The Brick Saloon--a local treasure that's been around since 1886. It's full of historic charm and the staff couldn't have been nicer. There were seven of us for lunch, and even with a group that size, we only had a brief five-minute wait. The day was warm, but we lucked out with seating downstairs next to a fan--definitely a welcome escape from the heat. We ordered three appetizers to share since the two little ones weren't all that hungry: crispy onion rings, gooey mozzarella sticks, and tangy fried pickles hit the spot. For mains, I went with the fish tacos, my daughter had shrimp tacos, and my other daughter ordered the shrimp basket. The older grandkids chose wings and a BBQ pulled pork sandwich. We all kept it simple with water to drink. The food? Absolutely delicious--every single one of us was happy, and not a single complaint in sight. If you find yourself in the area, The Brick Saloon is definitely worth a visit. I forgot to snap pictures of everyone's plates, though I did manage a few. Price-wise, it was more than fair: under $150 for all of us, including a 20% gratuity automatically added for our large party.

The Brick is an absolute must when in town. Everything about it - the ambience, the food, the music - yes please to all of it! Whether you stop in during the day for lunch or at night for some beers and live music - you can't go wrong. The service is fast, the bartenders and staff are friendly, and everything is reasonably priced. The food is exactly what you'd hope for in a tavern and it's always a good time. I've tried almost everything and am always satisfied. There's also something about the location and the building itself - you feel like you've stepped back in time. It's pretty awesome. If you haven't been to the Brick you should add it to your list - you won't want to miss it.

I had dinner break at Roslyn at The Brick Saloon and it exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was lit and service here is fantastic. We were confused about which drinks to try so the waiter gave us some sample draft beer. To my wow "Mac and Jack Africa Amber Ale" was really a discovery. The food here is above average but not what I would call amazing. I ordered a Cicely Chicken Sandwich with an onion ring as a side. Both were very average. My friend had Black Bean Burger with waffle fries. The burger was very good, but the fries were oily. But given such a small town, this place really shines.

Spittoon race tradition

The Brick is the quintessential saloon in the PNW. Steep stairs lead to the entrance, where you're greeted with the backdrop of a huge wooden bar and a bustling of activity, no matter the day or the time. Look closely and you'll even see the spitoon under the bar with running water from one end to the other. These days, no one is spitting in the water but if you're not careful you could drop your keys or phone in there! The food is consistently good. It's a saloon so expect a lot of deep-fried goodness. Their onion rings and fries are awesome. The Reuben and burgers are also top-notch. They also have an above average selection of good beers from the area, and cocktails and wine as well. One side is 21+ and includes pool tables and a shuffleboard table, while the other side is all ages during the day, then changes to an active stage at night.

From the stunning views over the valley below, to the tasty cocktails, to the wonderful eats it was a great way to chillax on a lovely Saturday evening. Having had a not-great experience with wine (at a different venue) earlier in the day, we opted for cocktails here. My extra dirty martini with cheese-stuffed olives was phenomenal, and my friend enjoyed her old fashioned. We shared a roasted beet and burrata salad as an appy, then moved on to our main courses - I got the prime tenderloin and she got the cider glazed pork. We washed it all down with a couple of chocolate espresso martinis for dessert. My tenderloin was cooked to perfection, and accompanied by some sweet little roasted carrots and a lovely heap of mashed potatoes. My friend reported that her pork was more like a stew, and she really enjoyed it. What really put our experience here over the top was the absolutely amazing service we received, especially from our waiter, Trevor. He was friendly, funny, and helped us navigate the menu when we couldn't decide what to get. He also told us a little about the geological history of the area, which is built over an old coal mine. This place wasn't cheap, but for a fun night out of splurging, it was perfect!

They have a cool selection of books, and a lot of gift type things like tea, stuffed animals, bookmarks, art supplies, etc. I noticed the dinner menu and decided a cheeseburger sounded good. I ordered the Basecamp cheeseburger with bacon and a side salad. You can apparently order food upstairs and then sit upstairs or downstairs (or outside, I think). They have table service as well, after 4pm. Service was very friendly and patient. I decided to eat downstairs, and there was a cozy bar and large seating area. My burger soon arrived and it was delicious! A great toasted bun and a wonderfully substantial and beefy patty. The cheese was rich and gooey. Great, yummy combination of flavors. The salad was good too, with a nice ranch dressing on the side. A cool place that made me feel welcome and served up a great burger.

Even though there were multiple options we considered, we thought stopping at Cle Elum will give us enough gap before we stop for lunch later in the day. One of the top choices we had was Sunset Cafe. It's located in the main street with a lot of parking spots on the roadside. We walked into a typical diner place with some great ambiance and interiors. They do have multiple dining areas and we got ourselves a booth. The interior decorations speaks a lot about the local and Washington history. They do offer omelettes, classic break fast options + Sunset specials. Their offerings are family recipes passed down through generations. We started with coffee. Ordered Got Blues from the specials, Greek scramble a stack of pancakes. There were a very few customers at the time - so I decided to walk around and explore. They do sell pies, brownies, cinnamon rolls. And they are popular as well. I have seen many walking into get those. They do have a bar and lounge as well. The food arrived relatively quick. It was a scrumptious breakfast for us. Kids had a great time enjoying the sweet treats as well. Got Blues was on point - delicious! The best among our pick! Service was top! The staffs were very friendly. We were helped by Nancy that day. The server that got us was very friendly and nice. We ordered cocktails; a sparkling rose' for me and a jalapeño mojito for my husband. The jalapeño mojito was delicious. Just a tiny amount of heat and the jalapeño came through. I ordered a Caesar salad to start. Was topped with anchovies and was good and crisp. My husband ordered the halibut with green curry. It was cooked to perfection and very tasty. I got the pappardelle ragu because I was told it was fresh in-house made pasta. The sauce was good, but the noodles definitely didn't taste fresh or have in-house made texture. I wouldn't order it again. I was having fomo so we ordered the ribeye medallion crusted with potatoes and I wish we wouldn't have. It was the most bland dish I have had recently. I don't think the ribeye or the potatoes were seasoned. I get that it came on a sweet onion jam, but that was just sweet. There was no salt or pepper coming through at all on the meat or potatoes. I wish we would have sent it back. I am just not that person. Luckily with enough fresh ground pepper and salt at the table, it made edible. We told our server, she didn't seem to care. We decided we couldn't end on a bad note with the ribeye medallion, so we got the lemon tiramisu. I have never heard of lemon tiramisu. It was so good. I highly recommend. I saw the chop tomahawk come out of the kitchen multiple times and it looked amazing. Ambiance is great. There is an open kitchen so that can be loud. Be aware there are high top tables when you make reservations. Would definitely go back.

Perfectly fried and paired so well with the intense and rich flavor of the coconut curry broth. The halibut was seriously the star of the show, you can tell it is fresh by the quality of the meat. My boyfriend was very surprised at how the risotto was prepared. He added steak to his risotto which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The texture and taste was spot on. Our server, Sharae was very pleasant and reccomended alot of amazing drinks to us as well. She took excellent care of us with having the balance Of professional yet fun/ outgoing personality. She was just the sweetest. We finished our meal with a mouthwatering LEMON tiramisu. Out of this world, Melts in your mouth!! Our server was amazing! My husband and I were going to split an entree. My husband's go-to is always an asada burrito. However, I asked for a suggestion. Our server recommended the Molcujete to split. Really it was the price of 2 entrees at $33 but was thinking that we needed to try something completely different and this was it. My daughter and mother split the enchiladas with rice and beans. The food took a long time however our server made sure we were kept in the loop, apologized and gave us more chips and salsa rather than ignore us. The molcujete was so different. In a pot with all the different meats, veggies and cheese along with tortillas. I liked it at a 4.5 out of 5. However, my husband didn't like it as much giving it a 4 out of 5. My daughter & mother loved the enchiladas giving it a 5 out of 5. The churro dessert was amazing. Carry cash because this place does charge a service fee for using a credit card. I think this place would have been more like a 4.5 star if they didn't do that. In the past, that was the cost of doing business was accepting credit cards to get more business but now instead of adjusting pricing on their food businesses is adding it.
