I have visited this bakery a few times, and everything I ordered was fresh and delicious! There is a variety of pastries and sandwiches to try. I am a big fan of the pretzel pastry, a pretzel-shaped croissant filled with almond pieces and dark chocolate. It's not overly sweet and wonderfully flaky. I also recently tried the brie sandwich, which was a crispy, flaky sandwich made with brie cheese and fig jam. It's wonderful heated up. I feel like everything I have ordered from this bakery is slightly elevated with wonderful flavors. I am definitely becoming a regular! Also did I forget to mention? Bakehaus has some really nice baked goods but I go for the cookies and pastel de nata. They have some of the best cookies around, definitely in the neighborhood. Their chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin are divine. Crunchy on the outside and soft gooey on the inside Their Pastel de nata is a great American version of the Portuguese delicacy. A nice selection if sweets! The cookies are great. The donuts look delicious - I'll have to try them another time. I got a too good to go bag that I was originally supposed to pick up at 6pm but then it changed to 7pm so I hung out at the store for a bit. Rafeeka and April were really kind. It was pretty empty and Cortelyou wasn't as crowded as it normally is because of spring break. Hopefully this business does well and gets busier once spring break is over. I got a croissant, donut, sandwich and another pastry for $7.61. Not bad compared to the original prices but I think there still was a lot of other baked goods leftover since it was pretty dead and no one walked in or walked by during the 20ish minutes I waited. read more

Small bakery place across from the fire house. They have sweet and savory items. I found the donut and chocolate pretzel to be under baked. The center was chewy and a little raw. The pistachio cronut was cutter in half and pistachio cream was spread in the middle. read more

After two experiences, I'd wholeheartedly say that Brkyn Bakehaus is pretty, pretty meh. It's okay but I wouldn't be hurrying back. Food: 3/5 - Did a Too Good to Go bag and while it was generously filled, the items didn't hit the spot. Some of the breakfast sandwich we not appetizing. Maybe it would've been better in the morning but the shredded chicken sandwich was a bit bland and dry. - We gave them another shot and tried their happy hour buy one, get one free pastries deal (cookies not included). I got a almond croissant and a Crème Brulé doughnut. The croissant was a bit burnt which was a disappointment. The Crème Brulé donut was pretty good but a bit expensive. Service: 4.5/5 - Pretty good and efficient Atmosphere: 4/5 - Bright and clean. A cozy place where the donuts are delicious. That's the one item I'm pretty confident in. I was glad to see the space between the Castello Plan and Jennifer's Beauty World being filled especially since King Mother closed down. Though the Bakehaus is another bakery/cafe on the road, it does have some unique characteristics. It markets itself as representing pastries from different parts of the world. So in addition to the typical croissants & cookies , it has treats such as scones, caneles, macarons, cronutz (purposefully spelled in order to not conflict with the popular cronuts). I ordered a canele and while it wasn't my favorite, it was decent enough. They have a loyalty card for drinks to earn a free coffee and croissant. There are a few chairs and tables inside and out especially with summer approaching but with the current construction shed, it is not picturesque. The people there were generally nice and took my order efficiently. I might comeback just to see what their riff of a cronut is like. read more

So I live in the neighborhood where this place is, and I'm a family man with 2 kids that love sweets and pastries. I consider myself an upstanding and influential individual in the neighborhood and try to support just about every business here, as long as they provide a service or product I use, I've patronized it a few times. We discovered this pastry shop a few weeks ago and decided it will be a weekly tradition every single weekend. The doughnuts there are really good and my kids swear by them, the cookies must be fantastic also because my wife orders the white chocolate and macadamia one every time, or at least asks me to bring her one every time I take our kids, I personally avoid carbs and sugars so I haven't had anything there besides a cup of coffee. With that said, it's safe to say they have some tasty treats. The first couple of times we went, there was a guy working there, a very pleasant and friendly guy who was very accommodating, he even restarted a song we were enjoying at our request and we chat about music for a minute or so, just an amazingly friendly server to have. On our first visit he explained to us there was a rewards program, with a punch card, and so we joined it immediately and had punched the card twice already on 2 separate visits, the third visit I forgot the card at home. So the following weekend we went in and got there late, however the door was open, and didn't say closed, it did turn out it was closed so we couldn't even make a purchase, the employee there this time was a woman, a skinny, appearing to be of South Asian decent, I must point that out as I think it's important to be as specific as possible for future patrons. I walked in with my kids and she said to me coldly "we're closed", I said, well the door is open can I still just make a quick purchase? To which she responded with the same frigid "we're closed". OK, no problem, we'll make sure to be there on time the following weekend I told my kids. Following weekend, we walked in, same woman working this day, there were a very small group of maybe 2 adults and 2 kids looking at options. I went up and ordered 2 doughnuts for my kids and my wife's usual cookie, then paid. Afterwards I handed her the card for the rewards punch and she says to me "no, that only works when you buy a drink", I explained to her that I have come in a couple times already and didn't buy a drink one time and the card was punched no problem so that is preposterous, to which she says "No, it's only for when you buy a drink, it says it on the card". I have searched the card up and down, and inside out and not only does it not say anything like that, the card was already punched before without buying a drink. With all that said, no matter how good a product is, if the service that comes with it feels off, wrong, or even suspicious in the slightest, I will be apprehensive to spend my money there, and I will give my friends that simple caveat of this particular employee there. We have also ordered from them through uber eats a couple times, my kids really love those doughnuts and my wife really love that cookie. It is just my opinion that a product's quality must also match in its service and in this case I really didn't feel that way and it was truly disappointing. I will continue to go there still but if I ever walk in and she's there I will walk right back out. read more

I'm kind of surprised at the reviews on here. I find Bakehaus to be one of the best cafes in the area. They have a unique range of pastries both savory and sweet, a kind staff, and great coffee. I feel like most cafes in the area have the go to croissants, chocolate chip cookies ect., but Bakehaus has a range with doughnuts, pastel de nata (my husband's family is Portuguese, so highly recommending these says something), German pastries, and much more. My only issue with this place is that I wish it were closer to me :P. read more

Really excited about this addition to the neighborhood. The space is bright, clean and welcoming -- though I was immediately overwhelmed by how many interesting treats they had. The absolute best cookie I've EVER had. Loved the staff and her suggestions. Service was fast and the decor in the store is cute. She recommended the birthday confetti cookie (which, I love confetti cookies) and it was the best I've ever had. 10/10. Crème brûlée doughnut was light and didn't taste too sweet.
