The apple cider ale here is soooo good and they have really good happy hours. The food is pricy but generally pretty good. The korean pulled pork salad was tasty but really small, go instead for the burger with a side of sweet potato fries. And also if you're feeling adventurous try the fried calf brains. read more

Great place to hang out with friends, or co-workers. I had the Ithaca beer which was great. The staff was so nice. Not your average bar menu items! Here you will find, fried brains, sauteed liver, and a truffle burger! They are brand new and still working kinks out as all new restaurants do, but can't wait to go back and see how well they are doing :-) read more

One of my favorite places in Arthur Ave. I'm not a big beer drinker, but they got stuff here for everyone, whether you like heavy or light beer (as you can tell by my terminology I have no clue what's what). But their pumpkin Cider was delicious this past October! Glad I got to try their seasonal! I try to come here at least once a month just for that. Also, my friends love it. They have Karaoke on Tuesdays where people aren't afraid of a good time, and their brunch was really good too! The owners (Ramirez Brothers) are cool young entrepreneurs who will occasionally grab a beer and just have a chat with you. They're always brewing up some catchy new event at the beer hall. read more

Went with the family and had the Greco wings and turkey sliders. Food was great. We split a local pilsner pitcher; good beer. The atmosphere encourages conversation and interactions with table mates. Great company, great food, great drinks- Will be back. read more

This was my first time coming to The Bronx Beer Hall which is located inside the italian market. It wasn't what I expected initially but it's not necessarily a bad thing. For a beer hall it does have a limited selections of beers but at least is a decent one. Service is Ok but the food they get from one of the deli down the hall is good. If you're in the mood to have a cold brew and walk around the many shops in the market I guess the beer hall is a good option. read more

I had an idea of what to expect since I had read the Yelp reviews, so I wasn't surprised it was inside the market. I was hoping to get in and out to use my beer passport but there were no seats at the bar, so we took one half of a large table, and were soon joined by another couple (which was fun, nice to meet new people.) Service was indeed on the slow side, but friendly. We were slightly annoyed that the couple who were seated after us got their beer first (that's what you get for having a eer passport) but we did each got a flight rather than a pint and they were very generous pours. Pretty solid selection of beer. My husband said the pretzel was good, but definitely skip the fries. Plus side is that you can stop by Mike's Deli for some delicious olives on the way out. I wouldn't go out of my way but definitely worth a trip before dinner on Arthur Avenue. read more

This is a mid-sized eating/drinking space inside a large Retail Market with various vendors. The beer hall features local brews, and all of the beers we tried were great. Also, this happened to be the day when American Pharaoh won the triple crown, so we were able to watch the race in the hall. This plus the market has the feeling of a neighborhood with a lot of locals compared to much of NY where so many people are in transit, and that was also an added bonus. read more

went to the bronx beer hall, really cute place. waiter did a great job serving us. the pumpkin beer and apple cider were really good, would suggest getting those if you stop in. also just a cool atmosphere since you're in the middle of a market where there's fresh meat, vegetables, cigars. little shops surrounding you. really fun time - would recommend it! read more

I have been coming to Arthur Avenue since I was a kid (past 40 years). My family and I have bought delicious food from Mike (Mike's Deli/ Grecos) and have bought high-quality meats from Peter (Meat Market). When the Bronx Beer Hall opened in the Arthur Avenue Market a few years back, it couldn't get any better. We have frequented it over the past few years for both group gatherings as well as more intimate occasions-- it has been reliable with its beer as well as its ease and friendliness. The welcoming vibe at this place-- and in the Arthur Avenue community as a whole-- has been a major attraction for us-- that, and supporting local businesses. It has been a staple for us -- until today. For some reason, our server and I had a miscommunication about our food options. In the many times that I have come to the Bronx Beer Hall since it opened, we have always ordered food from Mike's Deli/ Grecos because that was always an option when we sat at one of the tables of the Beer Hall. Today it was made explicit to us that that was not an option. There is no point to get into the details of our miscommunication-- she misunderstood what I was trying to say and I misunderstood what she was trying to say. Fair. But what was appalling was that then she went to complain about us to the owner, right in front of us. Although as a loyal costumer I was trying to understand the difference in the menus and explain our past experience dining at the Beer Hall, it must have been misconstrued as complaining, because that is what was conveyed to the owner. In watching their transaction about us, the owner then gestured that we should take our business elsewhere-- pointing to the area where people were dining at Mike's. Wow. What a shame. I have never before gotten anything but a happy, friendly, and welcoming vibe from this place, and today was the absolute opposite. I felt like we were not welcome-- simply for asking about the menu and expressing legitimate confusion about it. On our way out, I made it a point to thank our server in front of the owner, and to wish them a happy holiday. I also apologized for the confusion-- that in no way was I trying to complain about her or about the establishment. As we turned away, I turned back and saw the server tap the owner on the shoulder to make sure he knew that we were the ones apparently giving her a hard time. How awful. What was once a place of ease and good spirit has now left me with a horrible taste in my mouth. I will think twice before inviting friends and colleagues there in the future. :( read more

Cool spot to hang out with friends. Have been there three times already and the last time (last Saturday) it was super fun. Towards the end, me and my friends got free drinks! That's how much they enjoyed seeing us have fun lol. You wouldn't know it when you first get there, but it really is a bar. Mostly college students go there, but it's not a bad crowd. I hear they have karaoke on Tuesdays which I am looking forward to doing some time in the future. read more

When I heard there was a beer hall opening in my area I couldn't have been happier, since it is my drink of choice of course. The place is located inside the Arthur avenue retail market. The beers are always at the right temperature and local. Though I think I fell in love with the pumpkin ale they carry when fall comes along. When I first had it the rim of the glass was covered in honey cinnamon and brown sugar I believe. The sweet and bitterness of the beer went so well together. Like a lovely marriage of flavors, they were meant to be. All In all great spot for a quick beer. Though they have karaoke and trivia nights for anyone interested in that. read more

This place was great. I was visiting from Iowa and stopped in for a bite to eat and a beer or two. The food was great and the atmosphere is incredible. The beer hall is in the middle of a market with little shops inside as well. The owners were very friendly and fun. I've been to the Beer Hall a handful of times before but waited till I had a few visits under my belt to adequately grade the place. What I will say about this establishment, is that the staff is extremely friendly. They are always at the ready and provide really good customer service. A friend and I were there last night for trivia night and the place was packed. The server on the floor was a whirling dervish, taking orders, cleaning tables and running back and forth; all while keeping a smile on her face. The beers came quickly, the vibe was extremely positive and the owner was gracious in letting us just relax on a bar stool with our waters as they closed down. I went in today (9/26) with a business associate of mine. First the food was amazing. Top shelf we both left full. We had the cider which was good n cheap on price which is a plus in new york city. Our waitress was very attentive, friendly and had a huge smile . Service was great even with Almost all the tables full. I gave 5 stars because of the food, atmosphere and service. Beer hall is in the middle of a market place. I expected a little more after reading reviews and viewing posted pics. It was okay but the bar is small and it's not roomy and the smell of market food and goods kind of threw me off. Wasn't really up to par to what I expect from a bar. read more

I've come to the Bronx Beer Hall a few times and every time I had a nice experience. It's located in an interesting spot and they have good beer on tap. Unfortunately today they were really off their game. The first words we heard from a waiter were to the effect that he was too busy with his tables to help us. After a few minutes a table left and we were able to sit down. We asked if one of the TVs could be set to play the NBA conference finals and were told the bar tenders were too busy and will get to it when they get to it. Brunch was just ending, we were given a menu and I was excited about the Pizza which they get from another restaurant nearby. The waiter informed us they were not serving that menu tonight. Bummer. So we went with wings and a burger. We ordered a pitcher of beer. We were brought the wrong beer and were told that we ordered wrong. I don't think we did, neither here nor there. Stuff happens. We get our beer and one of the burgers comes super quick, except it's not the right burger? Okay we start munching on fries. 15 min later our burgers arrive. Then the waiter does this weird dance of "oops that was the wrong burger I'm going to switch the burgers but since you picked at the fries I won't just give you the new plate I'm just giving you the burger". It was awkward. Then I tried my burger which I ordered medium rare and was instead well done, super dry, with a crispy bun. We were also informed in the interim that they now were serving a new menu with pizza again!? So I'm sitting there eating a dry flavorless burger watching the table next to me enjoy an awesome pizza. First world problems I know, but still kind of sucks when he could of just told us that in 10 more minutes they'd have what we wanted! We finally got the NBA finals on after we went to the bartender who had no problem changing the channel. In summary, I know people have their off nights. I work in the service industry as does my girlfriends sister, whom we were with, but our experience tonight just kind of sucked and was a bummer for everyone. Our server looked like he didn't want to be there serving us and we felt bummed to be served by him. I'd like to give this spot another shot at some point but after tonight I'm not sure. read more

This place is horrible. Beer hall? Theres only 5 beers at most to choose from so don't let the name trick you. The manager is rude and creepy. The bartenders are slow and have no people skills. Oh, almost forgot to mention most of the crowd is definitely under age. If you like to go somewhere with loud underage drunks and rude staff here is the place. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! read more

4 stars? U gotta be kidding! Went yesterday for 1st time. NEVER AGAIN! I'm am a regular arthur ave visitor, go to mikes deli all the time,found no beer on the streets at st Anthony festival(strangely, was there last year), figured we'd try this out, party of four, got the beer sampler (4) , pumpkin? Cider? That's 2 down out of 4 for me. When she FInally took our order, we got the large antipast! That's it , to split. Waited, waited, waited , about a half an hour! Got the antipasta finally, then realized had no silverware or individual plates! All that time and never brought! We'd ordered 4 glasses of water, and guess what, when finally got the bill they were $1.50 apiece! Apparently all they serve is "mineral" water! We never asked for that, the waters came in glasses, not bottles of water. Getting the bill was a hassle too, had to finally go up and complain to the waitress can we get our bill!, we gotta get outa here! Meanwhile my friend told her 3x for another water (we hadn't gotten the bill yet), she'd asked my wife if she wanted a 2nd on her wine, she said yes, we are STILL waiting! HORRIBLE read more

The beer selection here is not especially large nor spectacular. At night they play the music at irritatingly loud volumes, which makes no sense since the place mostly consists of seats and tables. Impossible to carry a conversation. Also--even if they are regularly changing taps--it shouldn't be that hard to print out a beer list. Don't recommend. read more

Busy. You have to be very attentive and aggressive to get a seat on busy days. It's in the middle of a busy Italian farmer's market, and has a dining area with table service, and a bar seating area. You are welcome to bring food from elsewhere in the market, but no need, because they offer a menu featuring select dishes from another market vendor (and you can see the deli staff bringing the pizzas and sandwiches over to the Beer Hall bar!). Selection of all NY state produced beers, and some wines (I am uncertain as to their provenance). read more
