STOLEN PHONES!! This club is a very DANGEROUS place, 10 phones were stolen on a night, the police officers know and get reports all the time about it, the cameras have bad quality and the guards dont guide you, I believe they have someone pretending to be a police officer which is illegal because they dont guide you with the right process to file a report, they interfere so you dont leave evidence. This venue should be marked as high risk. Call 911 by yourself, the venue doesnt help you. FILE THE REPORT to get this venue in the high risk venues and tell everyone to leave the real review. read more

Some friends and I attended an event at this venue, (BINGO LOCO) and had a ball. This was my first time in this area that looked a little sketchy because it was more industrial and not too many residential or stores. We arrived in the area a little early to find parking. We found street parking but the spots were limited so come early. The streets are narrow and leaving the venue was a bit chaotic. We were there a bit early and had to wait online for a few minutes. They had security checking your belongings which is sad but normal and warranted these days. I also observed security personnel at different areas in the venue. I was shocked how large the venue was. It looked line a big warehouse with picnic like seating all over. They had an area where you could buy food and a separate bar area. The event was so crowded both bar and food lines were long and stayed busy throughout the night. The bathrooms were big and clean. We didn't eat but ordered some bottled water. The actual event (BINGO LOCO R&B Hip Hop) was AMAZING! Overall this venue was comfortable and accommodated a large crowd. I would definitely attend another event at this venue. read more

It's a big venue with lots of bouncers and security. They got to do a body swipe up and down and check inside your purse before you go in. No liquid or water allowed, which sucked because I had a lime Hal's spritzer water that was unopened and had to throw it out. The security allowed me to chug as much as possible before throwing it out. I drank as much as possible before my stomach couldn't take it anymore and throw it out. What a waste of money. I came here with my friend Mei to attend a Bingo Loco event at 7pm. The venue was very big with long tables to hold the people. There were many people and the tables were piled together really tightly so there wasn't any room to walk. There was an open bar and another small kitchen at the other end of the venue for hot dogs, chicken tenders and fries with sodas to purchase. Cannot believe it cost me around $7 for 2 canned sodas. Kind of expensive! Anyways, the bingo game started 30 minutes past 7, allowing us to settle in with food and the restroom. They also got a nice little garden with Red Bull high tables and a fresh patch of grass for people to chill by the restrooms. Too bad I had to catch the bingo game so the garden was deserted. The bingo game in my opinion was very boring. I don't know what it was but I didn't really enjoy it. They got a DJ up on stage playing dance and techno music the whole time and shot confetti everywhere. The host was a bit too much in my opinion with all the talking. Talked a lot and slowed down the whole game. All I wanted was the bingo numbers to be called out at a fast pace but he took his time. There were 3 card games and they took forever until the last game to win 2 tickets to Las Vegas, which was played really fast. The other small prizes consisted of a dildo, a kitchenware, and a float. Just random small items. Other than that, it was not much going on with prizes. With the amount of people there I thought there would be more prizes. read more

More like 3.5 stars to be exact. Came to this venue for the Bingo Loco nighttime event. It's advertised as not your average Bingo game, but more like a rave~complete with Confetti cannon, fog blower, and light-up neon pool foam. Yes, the host is very talkative and does try to get the crowd wild-up, but at times you really want to focus on the game at hand and basically cut to the chase. Guests at this event mainly were there to celebrate birthdays, bachelorette parties, divorce parties and just celebrating with friends. The Bingo prizes were a bit odd~from air fryer, cardboard cutout of Snoop Dogg, and a bedroom toy. The winners whom accepted their prizes were a party in itself, they truly had fun and enjoyed their moment on stage. At the end of the night I did not win any Bingo prizes, though I still enjoyed my night. read more

Last night I went to the Brooklyn Monarch with my friends to go and see ghengar perform. Getting into the place wasn't too hard, they checked your ID and went through a pat down, but it wasn't too evasive. The venue space was pretty big, not all of it was used during the event.Ghengar had an amazing set and I really enjoyed myself. The last set finished at 4 AM so if you like to keep the night going, I would definitely recommend. I will say the bathrooms were pretty small and a little dirty compared to the amount of people that could be at the venue. read more

We were here for a Day Shift party . A party for folks over 30 with club hours from 4pm to 9pm. A great option for those who want to ge their party on and get to bed early . Spacious dance floor, huge well staffed bar. Small menu of pizza, hot dogs ,beef patties ( very good btw) etc. Food may differ depending on the event . Unisex bathrooms. Coat check was $5 cash only but there are ATMs inside . The venue hosts various types of concerts and dance parties so ones experience may differ. Our party was good ( the DJ talked and interjected way too much,it was to annoying to the crowd , younger and older ) . It was supposed to be music from 80's ,90' and early 00's ,I think he missed the mark on the genres. He himself looked and played like he was 25 year old Tik Tok Dj .Ummmm. Nevertheless I was dressed and outside for the night so my hubs and I hit the bar and danced till the music went out - which btw was 840pm when the DJ's equipment failed. It was an entertaining night for sure. Anyway this review is really based on the venue rather than the actual event. So yes I'd return to another event here. The service was friendly ,from the security checking in to the bar tenders, food bar and coat check, all good. We felt safe partying here. read more

Solid venue in Brooklyn for live music. Brooklyn Monarch has hosted the Black and Blue bowl for the past few years. Huge location with an outdoor space for vendors and smoking. Plenty of bartenders providing excellent service. Prices on par with NYC venues. Plenty of room inside to stay away from the fray or get involved. Security was fine. Parking can be a disaster. Went to see a metal show at Monarch. During the show an announcement was made that several people had their phones and/or wallets stolen by a pickpocket. There are others reviews on here that mentioned this happening at other events, so apparently this is a feature of this club. Then at the end of the night, they blocked people from leaving the venue until security could do an involuntary pat down on everyone in attendance. I had a long drive home and was forced to stand around and wait. I asked a friend of mine who is a lawyer about this, and they said it would likely be considered false imprisonment. Not to mention that any pickpocket with two brain cells to rub together would be long gone well before the end of the night. I'm fairly certain the highlight reel of best memories that will flash before my eyes before I kick the bucket will have more than a few snippets from Brooklyn Monarch. It's seems every time I'm here I have an amazing time and each visit compounds on the previous one to keep the good times rolling. Granted each of my visits has been when friends or acquaintances have performed but the overall vibe is always just right. I'm not a sound engineer or particularly up on audio technology but I've always liked the acoustics in here so no complaints there, and the venue is small enough to enjoy good sight lines and feel like you're right in the mix. From the entrance to the main stage and dance floor area to the back garden, Brooklyn Monarch is easy to navigate and there's little to no hassle with getting drinks, food, or using the bathroom and that lets you maximize on having fun. The staff have always been very kind, helpful, and exceptional, but as with most things in life, you get what you give...so if you're dealing with rude staff, perhaps check yourself before you wreck yourself because it's possible you're the problem? I'm already back here several times in the future sense and appreciate every memory in the past sense, so cheers to Brooklyn Monarch for coloring my life with merriment and I can't wait to keep dancing, vibing, and chillin' until infinity and beyond. read more

Came on April 7th for the Black Parade: emo prom with a group of friends back from middle school. The tickets online are available for free if you RSVP months in advance, but since I didn't do so, I paid the online ticket for $18 and coat check was $5. Upon entering, security, took away my pepper spray, and did not give it back when we left! The drinks were over priced and watered down, I suggest you pregame! Of course, if you're going to pregame or drink, watch yourself because there was an incident that night with some guy falling and an ambulance had to be called. This incident, unfortunately caused a lot of people to leave because the vibes were ruined. Overall, if you're coming for an emo night, expect young people in their 20s mostly with mosh pits, stage diving, and a lot of vaping/smoking in the garden outside the venue. Since it was an emo prom, there was a prom, king and queen competition being held. It was kind of quirky, but ultimately fun to cheer for people dressed up. Lastly, the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting with barely any toilet paper and soap, so enter at your own risk! read more

Some friends and I came to the Brooklyn Monarch for a Rihanna themed dance party right after the Super Bowl. Paid $20 for the ticket and there was literally no one there. Not sure if they just didn't market it well or what happened, but it was kind of disappointing. The venue itself is really average. The bathrooms were kind of gross. Ok the food is dismal but honestly this experience isn't about the food. But if you're starving there's a food truck outside that's very good. The service is ok, it's busy, and the place gets packed. The ambiance is techy and pure fun. You get three bingo cards for the entrance fee with games with the first two cards and two games with the third card. The prizes are nuts and funny AF. The grand prize last night was a trip for two to Las Vegas. It was my birthday and we were a party of thirteen so they put us in the VIP section. We danced, we drank, and we even tasted the cafeteria type food, there's no way to ruin a Jamaica patty. We had a great time and wished the night could have lasted longer. We rented a party bus and it just enhanced the experience. I absolutely highly recommend this experience to any one of any age. I turned 72 and my daughter turned 45. Our ages in our group ranged from 20 to 72 and we all had a great time and are already making plans to do it again. I've posted some videos so you can feel the vibe. read more

Amazing place; plenty of room to see the band you came for! Bartenders are on it: I came to see TSOL in November and went to the bar before they came on for a G&T. Some punk girl tried to get in his face in front of me like it was the 1970s but he'd already seen me twice: I really appreciated that. There's an Astroturfed outdoor garden you can wander around between sets to people-watch. Word back then was the food was not so great so eat beforehand, bring snacks, or be prepared to walk several blocks to a (very decent) McDonald's or whatever place you fancy near the Grand Street stop. read more

Nestled in between other live venues on graffiti line streets is the Brooklyn Monarch. It is the perfect size for patrons looking personal. Patrons aren't so far that they don't feel connected to the band. In fact with well placed timing, you might even get a nice handshake or high five. Was paying a visit to the Brooklyn Monarch for the very first time to see the band Swallow The Sun who had embarked on a long awaited headlining tour. This venue is relatively new and located in the East Williamsburg section of Brooklyn which I have 0% background on. Since I would be traveling by mass transit from work in Manhattan I was happy to discover that it was about a ten minute walk from the Grand Street stop on the L train. As I was doing this after the day job I can say that it felt a little remote of a location but I didn't find any issues overall. Once inside and getting cleared to enter I noticed a reasonably sizable space with the stage visible as soon as you enter inside. You were seeing the musicians left side and the crowd was in front of them off to your own left. To the right was another room that was marked as a dining area. They had a kitchen and a number of tasty sounding treats to enjoy but I didn't partake in anything. Once in the venue there is another room with a full bar space and some additional tables. Having been on a several month long sober break I didn't enjoy any of those adult beverages either. While I missed the first two acts because of the schedule, I walked in on the band Wilderun who sounded good. They would be followed by Abigail Williams and STS as the main event acts for the tour. The lighting was nice and dramatic for both of them and the sound was better than I expected. Sometimes the newer venues are sacrificing something but I didn't find this to be the case here at the Monarch. I did notice a WiFi signal which was password protected so no access for the general public. Considering the big interest in posting to socials immediately they might want to look into a public access as well. Though I cannot discern when my next visit will be I would definitely come here again for a show. What a great venue! There was no bathroom line or wait at the bar. Theres a ton of space to move around and experience the show in a way that feels comfortable. They also have a great outdoor space in the back. Their snack stand took a super long time (25+ minutes) to prepare my order of chicken tenders and fries but that was the only critique I can really provide. Once ready, they were piping hot and delicious! I enjoyed my experience here and would love to return for future shows. read more

This is a cool event space. We came for the Manifest music showcase. The indoor area has several rooms and a large bar. Plenty of space for dancing and moshing. The outdoor space has astroturf grass and a small amount of seating. They have some fun, instagrammable art fixtures sprinkled throughout the venue. Nice place to catch a show. read more

Went for a Bingo Loco event and it was a horrible experience. I mean where do I begin? The event started late to the point where it went overtime and past it's listed 9:30 end time forcing me to leave before the end of the event due to time constraints. When I left I couldn't even begin the last of the three bingo card games. Secondly, it was too much party and not enough Bingo. Every little thing broke it into a song and dance to the point where it began to become corny. Right when you were focused on the Bingo game another random song or dance medley would occur. I wouldn't mind this if things started on time and I was actually able to finish the game, to me and others the songs and dancing became a great hindrance which prevented us from finishing the game on time. Thirdly the prizes sucked, I wouldn't get into the details but they weren't that good if that's what you came for. Last but not least, they have to do a better job at how they release tickets for this event. The event space can only hold but so many people and they were not enough seats for everyone. Many people were stuck standing or sitting out of view of the main stage and had to periodically stand up to see what was going on and enjoy the event. The last one definitely needs to be rectified because if you pay for a ticket to an event you should be able to see the event properly. Sidenote: The drinks were good but the food appeared to be of low quality so I would probably avoid it and eat either before of after. Just a heads up! read more

I was here for a metalcore show and the venue itself wasnt bad. The acoustics were good and the venue itself is pretty spacey. Bathrooms were jank, some stalls didnt close and some were missing the seats. TP was out near the end of the night. Best part of the venue was the smoking area! Coat check is $5. Drinks are super pricey. I got a redbull vodka for $17 and it came in a little cup that had to be 6oz max, filled with ice so the actual drink amount was way less. The redbull was on tap and a $5 upcharge??? I could have gotten two redbulls for that price read more

So overall the show was pretty good. I came here for a metal show and the sound quality was pretty good. It was quick and easy to get in. However, by the end of the show there were at least 20 people who realized they had their phones stolen while standing in the crowd. Security was taking a list of names but they didn't seem to care at all. They started rushing everyone out of the venue while people were trying to figure out what their next move was. They were treating it as like oh well it happened, now leave. Whoever was stealing the phones was a professional because my friend has his in his front pocket. Apparently this wasn't the first time this happened at this venue. Beware of your belongings if you see a show here. Consider leaving your things in your car or finding a better way secure your things. read more

So happy to have this event space! I've seen many great bands there. Notables: T.S.O.L , Total Chaos; Xymox, Then Comes Silence. There are enough stalls for the ladies in the restroom! Food was mid, venue was big and spacious, door were open so it was a bit cold inside, drinks were small but decent never the less, security was on point but there definitely should have been a V.I.P. Line or something, we waited in line like everyone else after paying at least $150 more for our tickets and no special performance viewing area either. I went here for atliens because ezoo day 1 was cancelled. People were mean and were throwing racial slurs to groups of asians. The security was roughhanding the crowd and called it "crowd control". I tried to get cups of water from the bar. The bar tender tried to force me to buy bottles of water for $10 when cups were free. He ends up slamming the water bottles on the table and refused to help me. A stranger ends up buying me water. Not even 5 minutes later my friend got the free cups of water from the same batrender. First time going and was pretty disappointed. Went to see Atish - they had the djs playing in the garden. The sound was horrendous, there's only two speakers at the front and low...down by the crowd. The sound was muffled as hell. We spent most of the night inside because the sound was a lot better. Wish they had more non-alc beverages and free water.
