Didn't live up to the hype on local FB pages. Always hopeful for new places in the area. It's basically an offshoot of Tacos and Beer. Food is good but it is slow. From getting to getting your drinks, to getting your check, It is slow. Ambiance is nice bit it does seem to try to hard to give a certain expectation of a higher price point that isn't warranted. Again the food was good, good portions that you do take something home but something just seemed off. Even in more urban downtown area I'd expect better, so maybe for the area it's awesome. Just a personal opinion. Would I go back? Sure. Would i rave about it? No. Would I recommend the food? Yes. read more

Went today for a second time with my daughter... and had a very disappointing experience. The first time we came we had a great time and the servers were very attentive. But today was not the case. We went about 30 minutes after they opened. We waited outside by the host stand for a few minutes, but no one came out. A server with blonde hair walked up from the parking lot and helped us. The poor thing wasn't even clocked in yet and was bringing us and another table that walked in at the same time menues. (There were only 3 other tables sat when we walked in) while we were waiting for our server, several other tables got sat and they all got served before we did. It took forever to even get our drinks. I had to ask several times for a water. Also while we were eating the table next to us dropped a mimosa and the people behind the bar just watched her, didn't help her clean it up or anything... just sat and watched her. We barely saw our server. And we overheard the table next to us complaining about the same thing. But the blonde server (i wish I got her name) was busting her butt running around taking care of things the other severs were ignoring. SHE deserves a lot of praise because she was working very hard. Idk.if I'll be back because of the lack of good service today. read more

Ordered the chicken and waffles and the waffles were raw in the middle and the chicken was a frozen chicken strip from a bag type. Also ordered the chipotle chilaquiles and they were alright, the sauce was mediocre. The cafe de olla tasted like they used tap water. Presentation was on point but not the quality/taste of the food. Today we experienced a recommended a place for brunch and were very pleased with the service but very important was the cleanliness and atmosphere, being travelers and knowing quality of different cuisine we were very impressed with presentation of food and quality of it. We each trying different dishes and able to taste a little bit of each dish and amazed how every dish was #10 plus the coffees drinks were quality and over all a good price for such great service, taste and pleasant experience! read more

I really did like the food but we found a hair in my daughters food as soon as we received it, they did replace it, but it took more than 30 minutes to receive, we were all done with our food. We asked for a discount for the inconvenience, the manager refused. Our server was so nice. It just bothers me that a hair in their food didn't seem so serious to them. Amazing wait staff. Fast efficient and kind. The menu is the star of this whole place. Beautifully presented dishes, that are so unique. I had the shrimp and grits, which were absolutely delicious. The shrimp was flavorful and the grits were creamy and packed a punch. My boss got the biscuits and gravy. He devoured the entire plate in minutes. I've seen a lot of biscuits and gravy in my life, but the gravy looked gorgeous with tall fluffy biscuits. Even the sunny side up eggs looked like a commercial, they were so perfect. I can't wait to try more dishes here. I also had their cafe de olla? I think I said it right. You can't find coffee like that unless you're in someone's home. Came in for the first time here as a party of 2 on a Sunday at noon. Hostess said 20-25 min wait.We only waited about 5 mins which was great. It was extremely busy but We sat at the bar and our sever was great. Very friendly and quick. Food and drinks were great. Prices are a little on the higher end.Presentation is definitely instagram worthy. Just wish overall the place was bigger, I hope they expand in the near future and add a DJ. Came here over the weekend with my wife I ordered the menudo and my wife ordered the chilaquiles rojos and a strawberry matcha. The menudo was cold and I could tell their menudo was old and not fresh I was very disappointed also it had a weird taste I can tell the menudo was missing some seasoning there is better menudo at La Moreliana on Florida. I tried my wives chilaquiles another disappointment the sauce had chipotle it didn't taste appetizing I have never had chilaquiles rojos with chipotle sauce I don't recommend. There are way better chilaquiles in Idyllwild at Mamas egg house. Don't order their matcha they use the cheap stuff the matcha my wife got was straight up sugar I can tell they don't use ceremonial matcha. Price of the food is expensive for terrible food. The vibe and service were great but the food wasn't. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I had high hopes for this place it looked good. read more

The servers were clueless, like one was running around trying not to get asked anything, we never received our water and the service was lack luster! We ordered the molcajete which was amazing! We also got the waffles and panbazo. The waffles had to be my second favorite because of the tres leches sauce it came with. The last two times were far from the first impression. The party of 8 took forever to receive service to even order, however the food came out immaculate.
