Can't beat the location, the versatility. You can sit at the outside bar, the covered patio, one of four indoor bars or tables. At least 25 TVs for sports, classic pub/ bar food and lighter salads. Live music often and even dancing. Good for families. Sadly no beer on tap, but I can get past that. Very casual. Could use more parking as half the lot is held for the upstairs condos. No handicapped parking for my cane weilding family, so had to drop them off and park five blocks away, although paid lots are available. read more

I'll be honest, this review is solely based on the service, patio, and drinks. I have never eaten here...and I'm fairly certain I never plan to... We all know that OOB is a tourist trap in the Summer months, which is inevitable, however, I sometimes like to make my way into OOB for some prime people watching and a good time. The Brunswick is always a stop, as they have a great outdoor area overlooking the beach. One of the things that I appreciate is that they are always featuring local talent (bands, singers, etc.) in their outdoor space, so there is always live entertainment. As far as the drinks...are they the best? No. Do they suffice given the live music and the view of the beach, sure! I normally get the rum bucket and it's appropriately priced and you get a lot of drink all at once, and it can be shared! The service can be spotty, but in general, the staff is usually nice. The inside of the venue is certainly divey, so I avoid the Brunswick during the winter months for that reason. However, for the summer, it is a solid place for drinks with a view and live jams in the background! read more

Four stars for the GREAT atmosphere. I loved walking down the stairs from the hotel, into what seemed like a beach party. Live bands play here, and the view is gorgeous. Due to the scorching sun that summer day, we opted to sit in a covered area outside. There's huge windows towards the beach that still give you the outdoor feel without the direct sunlight. The waitress was attentive and funny. The piña colada tasted amazing in the heat of the day. The lobster roll was good, not great. Lacked the hearty flavor that other ones have. The bacon wrapped scallops were also good but I almost burned my tongue off... my own fault. :) All in all, I will definitely come back to this place. We all had a great time! read more

I stayed in one of the condos just above the Swick bar. I got to enjoy the nightlife from my private balcony which was lovely. I enjoyed a birds eye view of all the usual night life you would expect from a bar scene. Including but not limited to people peeing in the bush area between the beach and bar, old ladies drunk falling over in the crowd and people falling and dropping all their food. Live/regular music seems to shut down about 12:30. I would say based mainly on the music selection, it seems to bring an average crowd aged between 35-50 in the evening. read more

Stopped here in hopes of catching some football games. Knowing we're midwesterners in Patriots territory, this didn't play out for us. BUT they had live music on the outdoor patio. So great!! We are visiting after the tourist season so it was lovely to find a place with something unanticipated when so much is closed. I will say that the service was fantastic. The buckets. Well they do the trick if you're looking for a solid buzz. Food leaves something to be desired. Super basic and mediocre at best. Still had a great time!! Go for the drinks, music, service, and view. Walking in there was a nasty dead fish/sewage smell. Totally unappealing. We were seated within 15 mins on the patio and they were busy. Not too shabby! They had a limited menu bc of Covid (I'm assuming?). My critique would be they have a LOT of meat options. For vegan/vegetarians, they only had salad and french fries which was disappointing. I will say the salad was decent due to the amount of peppers added and the vinaigrette was tasty. Our server, Amanda, was excellent! She was super busy, yet attentive. They had a band playing, Memphis Lightening, which was great! I liked the ambiance, it's right on the beach, drinks were good, service was great...looking forward to going back again. Wonderful service! We came in after a full day of travel feeling a little rough and too old for the fun dance party that was happening inside. Asked the nice gentleman at the door if we could sit out on the patio and were prepared to fend for ourselves at the bar, believing the staff would be too busy to deal with one random dinner order outdoors when they were obviously so busy inside. Well we were so wrong! We had no less than 4 different servers/ bartenders checking on us all evening, taking the time to make conversation and making us feel so welcomed. The food was delicious ( wonderful lobster roll!) and so were the drinks. Meghan and ( I hope I'm remembering correctly) Samantha were so great to talk to and they ( along with the other two who checked on us) just made us feel so welcome; just a wonderful evening on our first ever trip to Maine! read more

This restaurant/bar is very big. It is unfortunate that they do not have to comply with ada law. I'm a wheelchair user and all the tables out side with the lovely view of the beach are all high top tables which I can not sit comfortably at. The covered porch area once again, all high top tables. There was no ramp to be found to get into the place and the only suitable table for us was in front of the restrooms. The food was pretty mediocre also. My first impression was to leave but my husband and I just drove 4 hours to get to old orchard beach and we were very hungry. we really felt tossed into the corner and that was obvious by how often we saw our waitress, an after thought! Boo!! Heard good things about this place and it did not deliver. Had a horrible interaction with the bouncer and made it difficult to enjoy the night thus further. Drinks were fine, nothing spectacular. However, had a really nice waitress who did make things more enjoyable, so 5 stars for her. I believe her name was Katie or Kylie. That said, I would never go back after the beginning interaction I had. We are locals and almost denied due to a "fake ID" for someone over the age of 25. Had to get police involved. We did go here on a Friday night, so it was crowded for sure. Granted, we had ordered the seafood baskets. I got haddock and my other half had clams. The haddock in the basket was more like fish sticks. Not what I was expecting but it was ok. The other basket was clams. It didn't even seem like they all had bellies and those that did were very small. The only thing we really enjoyed were the coconut shrimp app. Those were delicious and really breaded with just coconut. Also, no beer on tap and the service was slow. As a local, we have been going to The Brunswick for 25 years and they never disappoint. Yesterday we had lunch at a picnic table on the beach. It was divine. Three kiddos were able to play around and under the table while the adults visited. Waitress was fantastic. She was pleasant and very attentive. When she noticed the kids' lemonades were gone she brought over new ones automatically. The food was delicious. Teriyaki chicken skewers, cross-check fries, turkey sandwich, haddock fingers, bacon wrapped scallops (probably the best I've ever had) and grilled cheese sandwiches with regular fries. The final act of Sons of the Beach was sad but fantastic. We were happy to be able to hear them one last time. read more

Nice place right near the beach. I was in town visiting a friend and it was the last night of the Stanley cup. The service was decent for the amount of people around. Typical pub type food. We ended up getting hummus plate. Wow it was surprisingly filling and tasty. Everyone else's food looked good too. I didn't hear any complaints about it. read more

My boyfriend, his son and I went here for lunch on a Sunday. We sat inside and were told to seat ourselves, which we did. It was not crowded inside, yet it took almost 40 minutes to even be acknowledged that we were there (and that was ONLY after I got up and told someone). Another 20-30 minutes to get our food, which was sub-par and bland. People around us were leaving because they weren't being acknowledged or served. There was no organization at all. Our bill was much higher than it should've been for the amount & quality of food we got. As we were leaving, my boyfriend politely suggested to a manager that more staff or a better system would be helpful. He was completely ignored - no response at all. I realize this is Old Orchard Beach and many restaurants are going to serve mediocre food for insane amounts of money. But this whole experience was ridiculous & frustrating. Service was terrible, food wasn't good, drunk & obnoxious people were coming inside to use the restrooms. We had plenty of good meals at reasonable prices elsewhere while staying in OOB. We totally enjoyed our short time here. I wish I wasn't so tired after traveling. I could have had a really good time here. Lots of people, a band, a nice porch on the beach. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but once inside, you can rent fully-furnished condos, facing the ocean, by the night or longer. The one we rented was excellent, and far less expensive than hotels in Ogunquit, Kennebunk, or Portland. The Brunswick also features "the largest patio on the beach," featuring drinks, light food, and music (on the weekend). If you do stay on a weekend night, be prepared to hear the music until 1:00 AM, so I wouldn't recommend it to families with small children or people who seek peace and quiet. However, if you want a reasonably priced accommodation on a lovely beach in a town that appears to be making a comeback, and you don't mind a little reveling outside your window, this place is for you. read more

This is a meat market for all ages. If you're looking for good looking women, good live music and an overall great time, then this is the place. Don't waste your time at any other bars in OOB, maybe the end of the pier is ok, but this place is a guaranteed good time. Parking is a problem, so getting someone to either drop you off or pay for parking would be the ideal situation. Staff are helpful enough and the place is run well. The bartenders don't really no how to make drinks but the owner employs hot chicks to pour drinks, not bartenders. Plus, you won't need good drinks to have a good time at this place. read more

Biggest restaurant / bar deck right on the beach. We stay in the hotel at the Brunswick. Never have had a bad drink or meal here. Worst martini I've ever had! How can you 'bad' a 'bone-dry' martini? How? The clam chouda' was very good. The fish tacos good. The chicken wings were "alright". The service was slow but, to be fair, it was 8:30 on a Saturday night and the place was starting to fill-up for the presumed show. The band was still in their throws of setting up. But on the brighter side...our waitress was so sweet and was very accommodating, I know in maine they serve lobster Rolls with mayo...I prefer my lobster roll hot with butter...so i asked her if she could do without mayo and butter on side..she said not a problem it might be alil cold tho, i said that was fine...when my lobster roll came out, it was WARM! :) and a side of hot butter...tons of Lobster meat! Although the Brunskwick has a fun dance floor and beautiful view of the ocean I was heartbroken to find out that this restaurant produces so much plastic waste. Everything they use to serve (glasses, straws, plates and silver wear) is plastic :( For a restaurant that is in front of the ocean it would be nice if they produced less waste. read more
