I started my adventure at a coffee shop when I asked the woman behind the counter "where do the locals eat?". They pointed me to a place called "Duffy's", so here I am. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is what you would expect from a local tavern, feels like a home, I love it . The fried pickles are amazing and I recommend them! We ordered the lobster roll and fried haddock dinner . It was amazing . We got a great amount of food and the fries are amazing . My server told me to get the lobster roll done cold with mayo, it was outstanding . Shout out to the girls at Bevs(the coffee shop that told us to come) for the recommendation , if you want to eat what the locals eat and get a great idea of what Maine is about, come to Duffys! read more

The tables are very close to each other. With plenty of empty ones available, the hostess tried to seat us directly next to a family with 2 rambunctious kids. They were loud, jumping up & down from the table, and had bunches of toys and cards where we would have been seated. They were not being bad, they were being kids. But with all the other available tables, why would the hostess want to put an older couple there? I shouldn't have had to ask for a different table! Food was inconsistent. Husband got the haddock sandwich. While it actually was quite good, it looked like a square of frozen fish out of a box. My burger was very good, but the $2 up charged fries were lukewarm and soggy. read more

Stopped in while visiting southern Maine. We ordered the French dip and a grilled chicken handheld sandwich. Both were great but we absolutely agreed the French dip stole the show. Billy was our server and she was fantastic and gave great feedback. Will definitely stop in again. Not 100% certain if accessible and we parked along side street (2 hour parking spot) and you walked in Through the back which seemed odd but the door dropped you right into the dining area. Went to dinner with my wife and son. Best nachos we have ever had. Steak tips were great. Burgers were excellent. Salmon was a little dry from being over cooked. Recommend the blueberry bread pudding highly for desert - can easily serve three people. Great Ambiance and service. read more

I want to love Duffy's so badly, but I just don't. I have never had anything here that left me feeling satisfied. The veggie burger is horrendous (try sebago or Crotux for a solid one), and other items are just meh. The bar program is also pretty bleak, with the drinks being unimaginative and leaning towards sweet. The bar is large and the bartenders and servers are always super nice, but the ambiance is not that of a place I want to sit at the bar and hang out. In my opinion, this building and space has soo much potential as an awesome divey sports bar, but they just don't deliver. There are plenty of items I have never had, so I can't speak to everything, but I have been many times and have always felt the same. read more

Came for dinner. There was a wait. We sat at the bar instead. Good crowd, We made friends with the people next to us! Great conversation ! Great atmosphere. Meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes. Asparagus Drink. Shrimp.Scampi in a Garlic Butter Sauce. Prosecco to drink. The meatloaf was very good and so was the Asparagus! The mashed potatoes tasted very heavy, not light and fluffy. The shrimp scampi was dissapointing. First off, it wasn't seasoned at all. I had to put a lot of salt and parmesan cheese to get some taste but it was hard to do that because the pasta was drenched in broth as if it was soup! It was soo watery and unflavored but I was so hungry, I ate it. But it was very dissapointing. We want to come back and try the beef tips and the Orange chicken. Duffys is a classic neighborhood bar / tavern, with friendly service and something on the menu for everyone! We live in town and Duffys is one of our go-to spots for a tasty bite and some beers. If you visit during happy hour, drafts are $1 off :) We love love their soft pretzels, fried pickles and chicken tenders - we always have to start our meal with one of those! For entrees you really can't go wrong! I love their fried seafood (scallops are my go-to), their sandwiches (the French dip is my fave) and their personal pizza (classic pepperoni for me!). If you save room they have a ridiculous (in a good way) ice cream sundae served in one of those nostalgic glass goblets. If you're in visiting from out of town, Duffys is a super option for a group because the menu offers a variety to choose from. Also - though it can get quite busy it's not as insane as some of the options down in dock square. I recommend visiting Duffys, enjoying a cold beer, and eating a good hearty meal. read more

We went to Raptor Falls mini golf and there was a coupon on the scorecard for Duffy's, so we decided to check it out. Unfortunately, I really didn't enjoy my meal at all. I ordered a cocktail and the ahi seared tuna rice bowl. My drink was VERY watery. The fish was overcooked and the sesame crust was burnt and too thick. The rice was really the only good thing about the dish, and it was just plain rice. My girlfriend enjoyed her burger and drink, which keeps me from giving this place a 1, but I wouldn't go back. read more

A chance stop on our way south landed us at Duffy's for a midweek lunch. A cool restored building by a waterfall lured us in. We told the hostess we had been on the road a bit and she led us right to a booth. Our waitress brought cold drinks quickly and our food was also prompt. The burger was done with just the right amount of pink and plenty of fries. The chicken wrap has several choices for seasoning and the Thai chili was a nice balance of sweet and spicy. The house chips were crisp and a good thickness for maximum flavor without too much salt. Both portions were large and we each took half home... Dinner after a long time on the highway meant we appreciated Duffy's even more! We will be back just to explore the area and enjoy more food! read more

On a family vacation at Kennebunkport, and I saw Duffy's Tavern & Grill on our way to our hotel. What a pleasant experience we had! The location is a little sketchy-looking - a brick building with lots of business offices made me think we were at the wrong place. We came in at 5ish on a Monday so the place only had a few patrons - but by the time we left, most of the seats were starting to fill. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food we ordered were pretty good. I ordered the garlic Parmesan wings for apps. Very garlicky with big pieces of Parmesan. My wife ordered the loaded nachos as her main - a heavy serving of tricolored tortilla chips loaded with chicken, cheese, green peppers, and jalapeños, with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole on the side. Only negative is the chicken was pretty bland. And it can't be a trip to Maine without some lobster rolls, right? Market price wasn't terrible ($24.99 as of April 2023) and the huge chunks of lobster made the price easy to swallow. The kids ordered buttered noodles - huge portions for a kids plate - which the son gobbled up, but the picky daughter barely touched. Overall, Duffy's is a cool spot worth checking out. read more

Solid 3, been here twice, they have extra parking around the corner, not just street. They have tables, booths and pleny of seating around the bar. The bar area has a few tvs, free popcorn to munch on. Food is decent, and cant complain about much except sometimes the service can be slow or inattentive. Laid back atmosphere. We are local and were very excited for a new chef and menu a few years ago (Great loction) but, once again, you have become complacent and things are going in the wrong direction! The food two years ago was amazing, best pizza in town, everything was good (Except that orange chicken! ) and we enjoyed ordering in and when covid hit, ordering take out until about 8 mos ago, something has changed. Soggy pizza, over seasoned food, cold food, terrible lobster roll (4oz??) for the exorbitant price, we could've gone to a local food truck and got better!
