Wanted to post a comment about poor customer service at Burger Barn. 8 of us went for dinner (two families). Collectively order over $110.00 for dinner and drinks, plus tips. One family gets free ranch dressing with their fries. Our daughter goes to counter during the meal to ask for ranch dressing for the fries she ordered. She is told it costs 50 cents. My husband goes up and checks and is now told it costs 75 cents. Can we afford 75 cents? Sure, all of us can. Is it poor customer service? I think so. We had planned on ordering desserts and more drinks but did not. I wish the manager would have come out and spoken with us. The two kids working behind the counter knew we weren't happy. We won't go back. We have never had to pay for a condiment in any other restaurant we have ever been to. read more

The most AWESOME place to eat burgers!! We've ate there twice since they have opened and both times the food and service was excellent. They have a wide variety of food from burgers, hot wings, fried mushrooms, chicken baskets to mexican food. This place is always packed when I go by there but the service has always been pretty quick getting your food out. read more

DAMN GOOD BURGERS...give them a shot, intial service wasnt all that inviting but I could look past that. Food service came out quickly, was fresh, and hot, was great...not greasy, the buns were delicious...cant wait to try another #. My wife and I both left full each of us ordeing a combo (burger & fries & drink). They also had other options non-burger related...it did not look bad either...at least what i saw coming out from the kitchen. Amazing burgers! Love the jalapeño burger and they are not shy at all with either jalapeños or bacon! They have great seasoning for their fries and onion rings. There are some games inside for your kiddos to play as they wait for their food. The staff is very friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating makes it a great place to grab a bite to eat on a day like today when the weather is great! I wanted to just let you know that I read about your restaurant on Hamburger Blog and it had very good reviews. Today my family and I were in the Manvel area and decided to go and try your place. My wife and I both ordered the Original Barn Burger and my 9 year old ordered the kids hot dog meal. We were surprised when we got our meals as to the size of our burgers. They were provided the exact way that we ordered and my 9 year old loved her hot dog. Now we know that the next time we come back to order 1 hamburger and split it. can't wait to come back and try other burgers and especially your wings. Been back and the service has improved and they seem to have turned the music down a bit. They are trying to improve the service and wait time but when they get slammed it seems to really slow down. The burgers are good, and a good value but still under seasoned IMO. Most folks seem to like it that way. read more

Be prepared to wait over an hour for food. I went with my parents and we waited and waited to find out they forgot our order and forgot to order one of the burgers. HORRIBLE SERVICE. They have one lady taking orders on the phone and in person while running all the orders out. When some food was delivered it was great, but not worth the hassle. Great burgers, great chicken strips, great fries. Everything we tried tasted home made and fresh. The burgers were huge and over-flowing with "the works" in veggies - messy, but I loved it! I would expect to pay more for a similar burger at other local burger joints, so the price was right, too. My only complaint was the volume of the music. It made it difficult to hear your order called and to carry on a conversation with my family at the table. Weather permitting, we will sit outside next time. read more

Horrible service. After 3 bites, my pattie fell apart. It was so bad, I couldn't keep it in the bun. Took it up to counter. Asked for a refund because we were on a motorcycle and the skies were looking like rain any minute, so we couldn't wait another 20/25 mThey said I had already eaten half. I held up the bun to show that was not true. After arguing, they refunded me less than half of my combo price - but kept my onion rings. I asked to get the onion rings back. They said the burger/onion rings were already trashed. After about 15 minutes of arguing with me they refunded $5.89. So, a soft drink cost me 10. read more

The food was good but completely ruined by the overpowering smell of Pinesol as the employees started mopping the floors a full hour before closing. If you want to eat here, don't bother coming after about 7:30pm or you'll end up with a headache. I just saw another customer slip and almost fall on the wet floor. I love this place. I've been going for lunch or dinner 2 times a week for just over a year. The young lady that works there is such a nice girl. i have scheduled my visits around her work times because i like the service I get from her. she is always so friendly and always has a smile. she makes me feel as if i'm the only customer in the place. i think that girl deserves a raise and a promotion. I've worked in the same business for years and every place I've worked we do our side work before the end of our shift.. like ranch ketchup etc. so why is it I always see her doing ranch all the time? I've been there and seen her doing it in the morning before 11. I asked her about it one day and she said the closer didn't do it so she had too because there wasn't enough. I know it gets done before she leaves because I've seen her doing that too. Why is this girl not a manager or something? the new managers ask her how to do things a "Manager" should know how to do. i know shes in school but she deserves it. a friend of mine told me ya'll probably didn't even offer her the job as a matter of fact i think i will ask her when i go today. if no one offered her a management position they should be ashamed of themselves. If nothing else she should get a raise and who ever closes at night should be repremanded for not doing their work as well as the Manager for not making sure they did their work. If you just want a damn good burger, this is the place! We usually order to go. I love the Lucy and my wife loves any burger they serve. The sweet potato fries are great and the regular fries do not disappoint. Be prepared to wait for your order to be prepared but it's worth it! The burgers have a very homemade feel with all the fixin's. Friendly service and you can have a beer or two while you wait for your order to be prepared. read more

Went to Burger Barn tonight and was so disappointed. We have been before and all was good, so expected the same. We stood at the cash register with a line forming behind us and after several minutes one of the people behind the counter said "oh, are you ready to order?" We ordered 2 turkey burgers that literally fell apart in our hands. Both the bun and the burger disintegrated into a mess. They ask what kind of cheese do you want implying it is part of the price, and then on the bill you see they charged extra. And to add insult to injury it is higher than quoted on the menu. When I pointed out that they were charging more than what was written on their menu, there was no offer to reimburse rather I was told she would let "them" know. Finally, the sweet potato fries were the worse. If you closed your eyes and took a bite you would not be able to tell what you were eating as the taste was a combination of everything fried in that oil for who knows how long. read more

Usually I have/had a good experience at this place. Yesterday, the cashier girl (wearing red t-shirt) was very rude. She mentioned that we had a pay extra for lemonade with an attitude and every little thing was mentioned with the similar attitude. We do not mind spending money at this place as we love it but they have to pay close attention to customer service. What a terrible experience. 30 minutes in line to order while the girl taking orders prioritized the phone to go orders over people in line. Finally ordered and waited 45 minutes for the food and they didn't put the order in for my kid's meal. They gave us the lemonade for the meal but since she took yet another phone to go order in the middle of taking my order she forgot. So we had to wait for the kids meal to finally come out. Hour and twenty five minutes to order and get food. That's ridiculous. What really sucks is that the food here is great. I can't see us ever coming back. This place gets progressively worse every time we visit. I'm here now and haven't been here in about 6 months, it was bad then. This visit, the fries were cooked in old oil, making them not look golden brown, and limp. Burger buns were soaked in mayonnaise of course making the buns sloppy. We went to Burger Barn yesterday for my birthday. The dining room was crowded, as we expected on a Sunday afternoon, but we managed to get one of the only two available tables immediately. Two of our group had the classic burger, and the other two, (myself included) had the Royal, which features a fried egg. We also split orders of fried pickles (a personal weakness of mine) and onion rings. Despite how busy it was, the service was fast, and the food was awesome... The pickles and onion rings had a light, crispy batter that reminded me of the best fair foods, and they were perfectly seasoned. Our burgers were nostalgia at its best... big, juicy, and loaded with fresh toppings! (the egg on my royal was PERFECT, the runny yolk mixed with the hot grilled burger to make a velvety-smooth, rich taste that was to die for!) I can't wait to visit again, and try a couple more selections from their extensive menu of burger combinations (I'm thinking of trying either the Lucy or the Peanut butter burger next time). read more

The menu prices look good, that is until you realize it's not combo prices. Then the prices become more realistic. they have a huge selection of different burgers as well as baked potatoes, hamburger steak etc. They even have Mexican food served here. Being my first time I tried the hamburger steak and my wife got a BBQ burger. Wait time was about ten minutes, not bad at all. The hamburger steak was portioned decently, but the taste of the meat was absolutely bland. My fries were average at best as far as flavor. My wife's burger didn't really have much of a BBQ taste with the sauce and the patty was very blandly seasoned as well. The onion rings were below average as far as taste. I had higher expectations for The Burger Barn then what was experienced by us on our first visit. Willing to give this place a second chance just because of the menu selection, but first impressions are below average read more

I had been wanting to come here for a while and finally did today. The food was very good. Amongst the group we had bacon cheddar burgers, bbq barn burger, mushroom burger, and wings. Not a complaint among us. Everything was hot and fresh. We didn't have to wait too long either. However, we came in when there wasn't too many people there and apparently had just beat a rush because the evening crowd flowed in and the wait seemed a little longer for others. I used to eat at the burger barn frequently, but today changed my mind. We arrived about 1115 in the morning and had to wait 20 minutes for our meal. My burger was over done and dry. My french fries were cold and soft. My husbands baked potato was not done all the way through. And, in addition the women's bathroom walls had not bee dusted in quite some time. read more
