Food was very good and not greasy. I traveled 17 miles home with burgers, fries , and onion rings, warmed up in the microwave a little and all tasted great. Workers were nice. I did have to wait 20-25 minutes for a specialty burger called a LUCY, but overall had a great experience. All the food was about $31 fed three Seniors, two women and one man. I ordered no drinks. I have been a frequent costumer of Burger Barn for years, so I will first compliment on the previous visits and how much I have enjoyed the service and food in years past. That being said. My most recent visit was utterly horrible . The employee taking the order spoke a minimum of 3 words and pointed and used jesters instead of talking. That was the first indication something was going to be different this time. The wait was almost an hour for a cheese burger and hot dog combo. If you have never been here you are in for a real treat, the amount of different burgers will boggle the mind. On the menu I counted something like 27 different burgers, and they will prepare them just about any way you want. They have some great side dishes like onion rings, sweet potato fries and regular french fries plus many appetizers to choose from. I have been here twice and been sorely disappointed both times. It is possible I just caught them on bad days, but I really have to wonder why anyone would rate this place four or five stars. Burgers and chicken tenders and fries were only so-so. One order of fries was small, cold, soggy and not even cooked all the way. Staff were surly bordering on rude. I got the feeling this was a family-owned and run business so they figure it does not matter how I treat customers since I cannot get fired. Prices were high for such poor quality too. Got the bacon cheeseburger and was satisfied - burger was cut well, bacon was thick and crispy, cheese melted, and veggies tasted fresh. I'm definitely fan of a basic burger done right - no need to get too elaborate with the toppings. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. Ordering was an easy process and the staff was very friendly. Only complaint would be the fries - they weren't bad but really nothing special. These could be improved upon to make a perfect spot. First of all, they have a huge menu with burgers, sides, wings, and a few other options. Second, while the burgers themselves are great, the bacon on their burgers is some of the best I've had -- it's just thick enough to not be overly crispy. The staff is friendly and efficient. Special requests aren't a problem and the orders come out accurate. If I had any constructive criticism for them, it's that the fries are nothing special and taste very reminiscent of some of the frozen food service fries. read more

We are new to the area and tried The Burger Barn in Manvel TX. The food was good, I had the #3 and my partner had the Jalapeño burger. We had an order of fries. The best thing is their homemade ranch, downside to that is they charge 99 cents for a small container. Overall just a good burger. No biggie. We have been going to the one in Rosenberg for awhile and we just happened to be in Manvel today so we decided to try this location out. Not bad. This one is a lot larger. Right off of Hwy 6 it has a huge parking lot. Plenty of parking. Easy in and out. The service was pleasant and fast and the burgers are pretty consistent. I had the Jalapeño burger which is always good! The thing I like about this location is that they have the self serve fountain drink stations out where you can do your own refill. They should do that at the Rosenberg location. My son even said he likes the burgers here better than Smashburger and In and Out. Pretty good tip of the hat I'd say. I'm certainly not a burger connoisseur but these burgers beat all your conventional fast food joints and the pricing is not bad. This is the worst place I have ever eaten. As picky as I am, I have had 3 burgers in my life time as far as I know. The worst part was that I was 35 weeks pregnant and I was so hungry my husband and I happened to be in the area and he offered for us to eat here. To my greatest surprise, I had diarrhea and abdominal pain that I had to go to emergency room. When I got out and I explained to burger ban of their food poisoning, there was nothing they could say or do. I was so afraid that I may loose my pregnancy. Ever since then I never went there. Warning: They do NOT honor their Groupon the way the fine print is listed and added their own stipulations on a small sign at the register. We purchased a Groupon for them w/ a lot of fine print, which we carefully followed: Two Groupons worth $10 each per 2 people. The two have to be used on two separate visits on a food item only. Burgers are good, but we LOVE wings and have purchased this Groupon TWICE before to get the wings. We were in a wing-mood tonight. Ordered wings & onion rings. Manager "Marilu" refused to honor the Groupon, stating that it could ONLY be used for burger and fries meals. NOWHERE does it state this on the fine print of the Groupon. She pointed to a sign on the counter of rules, mostly a copy and paste from their Groupon ad, but they ADDED a line that said "two people, two meals". That's fine, we were willing to get more orders of wings & onion rings, but she said the word "meals" implies burgers & fries meals only. At this point, we have stated this is bad business and it takes so little to satisfy a customer on a detail you added to your stipulations AFTER you promoted with Groupon already. I've been going to Burger Barn off and on for a few years. I haven't been since the shutdown from the virus scare, so I thought I'd drive out there to check them out. If you're worried about the virus you'll find this place takes safety seriously. Signs everywhere display the rules for masks, social distancing, and don't move the tables. They have hand sanitizer available for use. Tables are spaced out for distancing. When you order at the counter there's a plastic partition between you and the employee. All employees we saw were wearing masks. A sign states employees are temperature checked. You are assigned a table after ordering, so no table freelancing. Now the best part....the food. My wife and I both ordered the classic hamburgers with fries. I'm a hamburger "specialist" and Burger Barn has always been the best. I've been to several burger joints, some mentioned in Burger Barn's posts. None of them are better than Burger Barn. You can tell the patties are handmade. The patty is seasoned perfectly and has just enough juice. The bun is fresh, but doesn't get soggy like other places. Bun size and veggie amounts are the perfect blend with the beef patty. Some places have a huge bun or thick cut veggies that overpower the patty. The hamburgers were perfect. The fries were nothing to rave about, but my wife loved her tator tots. We've had the hand battered pickles and mushrooms before and they are really good. I think Burger Barn has the best burger in the area (including Sugar Land). Employees always seem nice and the place is always clean. I read the few Yelp complaints about Burger Barn and just had to laugh and roll my eyes. read more
