Needed to find somewhere to meet a colleague and had been eyeing this place. Rave reviews in the middle of Mebane? I was intrigued! Much like all of the reviews before me say, do not let the unassuming interior and exterior fool you, this spot has some delicious food. It was a hot September day, so we grabbed some chips & salsa, chips & guac, and a diet coke to cool off. They also have Mexican coke in the bottle, which is a nice treat. The guac was so fresh and flavored perfectly, I had to remind myself that I was sharing with another person so that I would not eat it all. Moving onto our entrees, I was really torn because the burgers look SO GOOD but I was really in the mood for tacos. I got an order of the shrimp tacos and my colleague got the burger that comes with chorizo on it. He raved about the burger so if this interests you, I think it is a good choice. His order also came with house made chips, which are always delicious. My tacos were fresh and had a crema on them. I thoroughly enjoyed. This is a great spot to stop in if you're nearby. What a quirky little spot. I'm not gonna lie we pulled in and I was like oh I'm for sure getting food poisoning cause it's just very unassuming on the outside. The inside is even more strange. I decided to give this place a shot, and I am so glad I did. The burger was easily one of the highest-quality burgers I've had in a very long time--the patty alone was incredible. I ordered the Carolina Burger, and it was absolutely on point. They use locally sourced buns, which really elevates the whole experience. I'm usually a fries person, but their homemade chips balanced the burger out perfectly. On top of the fantastic food, the customer service was amazing; the staff here are incredibly sweet. Don't let the exterior fool you ...... this place serves up some great food !! We stopped by on a Wed for lunch at around 12:30. Not crowded at all. Party of 4. The boys both got burgers. The girls had bites of the burgers and agreed these were top notch burgers !! Ample fresh ingredients. The girls got tacos. They were also very good. If you like some spice, these were all packed with it. The salsa was fresh made with lots of cilantro. We will be back. I want to try a burger !!!! read more

Don't be fooled by the plain Jane building. The food is so flavorful and well prepared. The menu items are many, and if they are half as good as what we ordered, no one will leave disappointed. I had the California Bowl and hubs had the spicy jambalaya. Both were well prepared and soooo good. I heard the burgers are good, too. Can't wait to try those as well. We tried the Burritaco burger grill today. We went around 4pm and got the chips and cheese, blackened fish tacos, spicy buffalo chicken tacos and the California bowl. For dessert we got the cheesecake with homemade blueberry compote. All of the food we got tasted great. It all tasted very fresh, and was reasonably priced. Really good local casual dining spot that we tried for the first time tonight! If you haven't been here since they changed ownership/management and the name of the establishment, then you'll be pleasantly surprised! Our dinner was excellent! I had the Chicken Quesadilla, it had lots of chicken and was delicious! My wife loved her Gouda Chicken Sandwich, it came with mushrooms. This was our first time to try it, we'll definitely be back. Went here for the first time and was very disappointed. Had the burrito and it was all beans not much meat. Do not recommend.

My goat cheese burger is cooked a perfect medium, fresh bun and fresh toppings. Homemade chip are delicious as well. My husbands Ahi tuna tacos are cooked a perfect medium rare and delicious. If you are looking for some good quality fresh food give them your business. read more

Sorry to say we did not enjoy our food at all. We wanted steak tacos, but they were out of steak. Settled for ground beef and Al pastor instead. The ground beef was completely lacking in flavor. The Al pastor was cold and dry. The taco shells were also bland and seemed undercooked. We had five tacos and a side of rice for $32 which we would have been happy to pay had we enjoyed it... EDIT: I am updating my rating to a 3 as the owner contacted me to express his regret in our experience and I can tell he takes great pride in his restaurant and that should count for something. We are from the Midwest so perhaps part of the reason for what we thought about the food is due to our expectations being different based on what we are used to eating in that part of the country. read more

Burritaco Burger Grill is the real deal and the owner/proprietor is passionate about serving excellent food, with a rotation of variety for whatever your palate desires. I have been ordering from Melvin since he opened his doors and every meal has been a treat. From the fresh burgers, to an ample fish sandwich, and his chicken tortilla soup was hearty and filling. He takes great care to always offer fresh ingredients, cooked perfectly, and with ample portions so that no one goes away hungry. The prices are fair and even a bit lower than other places that don't have such a variety. I can see why locals try to keep this a secret. We especially love the burritos -- steak for him, chicken tinga for me-- as so few places stuff them with rice and beans. Love it. Both served with homemade potato chips. Another ordered the jambalaya with chicken. It was so satisfying topped with flakes of Parmesan. I ordered 3 tacos (pork pastor, grilled chicken, and chicken tinga). All were lip smacking but the pork pastor was my favorite. Green sauce and limes to dress them. Worth the stop!!
