It was a hot September day, so we grabbed some chips & salsa, chips & guac, and a diet coke to cool off. They also have Mexican coke in the bottle, which is a nice treat. The guac was so fresh and flavored perfectly, I had to remind myself that I was sharing with another person so that I would not eat it all. Moving onto our entrees, I was really torn because the burgers look SO GOOD but I was really in the mood for tacos. I got an order of the shrimp tacos and my colleague got the burger that comes with chorizo on it. He raved about the burger so if this interests you, I think it is a good choice. The new owner has raised prices, reduced portion sizes, increased wait times for food readiness, and increased wait times for food ordering. Nearly all of the front-of-house staff has been replaced and there is a definite vibe of unrest when I walk in now (the few times that I still go there) Chip portions are bleak, the wraps are about two-thirds their previous size, and everything costs more... a recipe for disaster in my opinion. This was the ONE business in Mebane that needed absolutely nothing... it was turn key for any new owner and a guaranteed hit with the locals. Within a few months, the feedback from me and everyone else I've talked to is that it's now on the decline and we no longer recommend it to visitors, or family visiting. Absolute shame... but I shouldn't be surprised.
