I loved the experience I got when I went to Bustle to pick out my dress with my closest family and friends. The two sales associates that helped me were wonderful and I walked out feeling really good about my decision. I'm giving them three stars instead of five because when I went to pick up my dress it was ordered 3 or 4 sizes too big, which meant there need to be a lot of alterations done (my weight did not fluctuate between buying my dress and when we received it). I went with the tailor they recommended for my alterations because she had just recently done alterations on my same dress for someone else. Because of the extent of alterations and the delicate mesh that my dress had on it, I felt like we lost some of the integrity of the original look and feel of the dress compared to when I tried it on for the first time. On top of that, the alterations cost me almost as much as my dress did. Because of this experience, I was not excited to wear my dress and didn't like how it looked. I'm not sure why they ordered the size they did when I originally purchased the dress, but that ultimately led to my overall experience and dissatisfaction. read more

Shout out to Paytin's excellent clipping skills! She really knows her dresses, and was even able to find the dress I thought wasn't available in store just from a picture. The appointment was good vibes all around despite the rainy weather. Loved the treats and champagne that come with the appointment, and the $50 appointment booking fee can be applied as a discount to your chosen dress! I apologize in advance for my long review of the Bustle. Over the past 2 years, I have been the Bustle a total of 8 visits - twice as a bridesmaid and 6 times as a bride myself. I would like to start off by saying that I had gone to 11 different bridal shops across Southern California (from Pasadena down to San Diego) in search of "the one" and started my search in March 2017 for my wedding during August 2018. My experience with working with The Bustle was truly one of the best. It is one of the most beautiful salons and they go above and beyond to meet your expectations. Also, who can complain about having some bubbly and sweet treats during your appointments? To start off, when I first came as a bridesmaid approximately 2 years ago, they treated my friend, Alyssa P., very well by being attentive to her preferences and giving her valuable feedback. I was impressed by their service and knew I had to come back when it was time for me to be a bride. When I started my journey in searching for a dress, I started with the Bustle. The initial consultant that I was paired up with was very nice, but I did not feel she understood how to dress my body type & my preferences, and how to navigate handling my entourage since they can be a critical group. I tried about 10+ dresses that day and was overall, bummed out about the experience. I did provide my feedback to the owner, Alison, and she immediately reached out to me to come back and give them another chance to make it right. I was paired up with Mariah and it was truly one of the most wonderful experiences working with her. I love her personality and appreciated her honesty and feedback. She was able to hone in on what I loved about each gown from each of our appointments, which led me to falling in love with a Stella York gown during the trunk show. In regards to the negative reviews about mark-up pricing at the Bustle, I would like to acknowledge that when I emailed Alison that I found the gown at a lower price at another bridal boutique and my concerns about pricing in a respectful way, she did go above and beyond to work with me on adjusting the pricing and also offered me a discount on my Bel Aire veil. Although she did not have to offer me anything, I kindly appreciated the gesture and was happy to do business with them. My final visit to the Bustle as a bride was in June 2018 during their sample sale to find a bridal headpiece and earrings that would go well with my dress. I got to work with Mariah again and she was able to find me some great deals on the headpiece and earrings (which ended up being less than $100). To summarize, I had an absolute blast working with The Bustle and Mariah. They are very communicative and offer great customer service if you have any concerns. read more

If I were to write this review right after choosing the dress it would have gotten 5+ stars. The whole entire process of picking my dress was amazing. They make you feel like a princess from the moment you walk in. I am more of plus size bride and I was nervous about trying on dresses in Del Mar because I am more "curvy" but size was never an issue. Every dress the stylist pulled looked amazing. I would use them over and over again to pick a dress. Where they lost some points with me was with the fittings. Maybe it is on me and I just didn't do my research, but when I went in for a fitting they bring in this extremely nice woman who moves forward with alterations, then you find out that she has a shop down the road and is not actually at the wedding shop. The problem was the cost to alter the dress was 1/2 the cost of the dress itself. She charged $100 just to attach a comb to the veil. I wish someone had told me I had the option to take it to someone else, and told me that I would have been able to choose my own person. read more

Nice place. Relatively good service. Would be nice to always see the same person when you make appointments, rather than start over every time. They also didn't bother contacting me to let me know that my automatic payments weren't being processed. Instead I showed up to pick up and they were as confused as I was. I expected to owe less than half of what I did so I was pretty frustrated. Lastly when I made the appointment to come in that day she said ok you will just pick it up- then when I arrived they asked if I wanted to try it on. Like really? This review is for my experience with Paytin! Paytin was so helpful and organized from the beginning. She already had the dresses that I placed on "my favorites" ready to go along with other dresses that she thought that I would like as well. In addition, champagne and small desserts were ready to go -- in which my bridesmaids were excited about. I immediately fell in love with two of the first dresses. Paytin also chose a few veils that best complemented the dresses. Despite this visit only being my second dress appointment, I immediately said YES TO THE DRESS. Ordered a bridesmaid dress, provided measurements and they sized me in a clearly way to big of a size as they based my sizing on hip measurements for a dress that is not fitted around the hips, but claiming the size was the manufacturers recommendation based on measurements. For being experts in bridal and fitting, they should have known this to make appropriate recommendations. Will cost more than I paid for the dress for alterations. On top of this, they will not refund the dress and are standing by their sizing recommendations. Horrible customer service. read more
