Local diner I got to try out while in town for work! Ambiance: Small town quiet diner with a great selection. Very casual and friendly, easy to get to. Metered parking on the street or in a small lot across the street. Ordered lunch for pickup and was ready when I needed it! Price: Great price/quantity Ordered: BLT on toasted Rye Pros: Great food, great cost, timely, and extremely friendly. What more can I ask for! Their BLT is all I ordered for 3 days for my team at a nearby construction site and we just kept coming back, but definitely wish I tried some of their other options. Cons: One tiny thing I have to note, the coffee pot in the back tasted better than the coffee pot in the front. Not a deal breaker for me, it may have well been the late lunch coffee I got since it was the last cup. Overall: Hole in the wall dining spots like these are the ones I love finding when I travel. My wife and I and another couple ate at The Buttersburg Inn yesterday. A husband and wife bought this restaurant from long time owners who started the restaurant in 2002. The food was delicious and service was excellent. We started with the corn fritters which were very tasty. My wife loved her chicken salad on top of salad greens. I enjoyed my turkey dinner with green beans and cucumber and onion salad. Our friends loved their fried catfish and club sandwich. But the amazing part of the meal were our homemade desserts which included a slice of carrot cake, chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and ice cream sundae. I only wish I had taken some pictures. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Great service everyone was tentative and friendly. Food was okay. We had the fried chicken 2 piece, mashed potatoes and green beans. Service was very attentive multiple waiters asking what they can do for you very helpful it's like an old style country place. Has old fashioned plates on the wall. Excellent service and food.. best food I've had at a restaurant in a long time!! Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Had two half hour before closing takeout orders and the staff was so welcoming of our orders and helpful. The place was packed and it seems that we knew someone at every other table. I felt like we were at a church dinner or a family dinner. Indeed, everybody is family at Buttersburg Inn. Caroline ordered the penne with peas, broccoli, and tomatoes in a rosé sauce. Grammy had the soft shell crab. And I had the baked salmon. Our dinners were excellent. The service was great. Wasn't really impressed. Ordered green beans they had No Flavor! Ordered gravy with french fries the gravy looked and tasted like melted lard. Shepherd pie lacked flavor the ingredients weren't blended together. There website is also a little confusing not everything is available. Discovered this gem less than a month ago and has to bring my kids. Convinced the only thing they don't make from scratch are the rolls and soda. This time we had the chicken tenders, shepherds pie, and roast turkey with stuffing. This time I had kids trading their mashed potatoes for corn fritters and apple fritters. The ownership is as impressive as the food. Again, the owner was out in the dining room checking customer satisfaction. I accidentally left my discover card in the portfolio. In addition to locking it in their cash drawer, he went the extra step of calling discover and putting a hold on my card. While we were still eating my oldest asked when we were coming back. My sons and I just left the Buttersburg Inn. If you love restaurants with the hometown feel and food like your momma prepared, you are going to love this treasure. I ordered the Chicken Salad platter and substituted the coleslaw for their cucumber salad (recommendation made by the owner when he learned I passed on the coleslaw because of dietary reasons), his recommendation was excellent. My sons both had the hot roast beef sandwich with fries and gravy. They loved their lunch. One son said it tasted like the Canadian favorite, Poutine and the other said their gravy was the best he's ever had while dining out. Besides the food being fantastic, the owners are funny, kind and really care about their customers and the customers dining experience. Hurry and go there, you won't regret it. Small town diner with aspirations for more. Typical burgers/sandwiches/fried chicken type stuff on menu - but with daily specials that crank it up a notch. You can bring your own bottle if you'd like, and even call ahead for a special menu if you book a party (we haven't done this, but friends have, and had a nice evening). We went last week on a school night for a quick family dinner. Wifey and I stuck with the basic fare: cheeseburger, turkey reuben, fries, cucumber salad, etc. That was all very good and quite reasonable. Our teenager of course sought out the most expensive thing on the menu (or close to it) - the evening special chicken marsala. He didn't like it all that much compared to the version I make at home for him - but then again his idea of fine dining is going thru BOTH drive-ins so you can dunk your big mac in your frosty. In other words, the chicken marsala is probably just fine. I do remember last time I ate here (years ago), I had some americanized shepherd's pie type meal, andremember it being simple but tasty. Service was pleasant and friendly. Consistent with other reviewer's experiences, one of the owners stopped by our table, all warm and welcoming, to make sure we were having a good meal - and when my wife had questions on the desserts, he just brought a few out for a show and tell demo. Found this restaurant by google. What a great surprise. The restaurant was packed but the staff (Tessa) could not have been nicer. She seated us as quickly as possible. We had a cheeseburger with homemade fries and a hotdog. Everything was delicious. I ordered apple dumpling and ice cream again it was delicious... everything was homemade and great comfort food.
