We did have a little wait to receive our waiter due to busyness, but they informed us ahead, sat us, and got us drinks. I appreciated this and prefer it to just having customers sit and wait at the door. Waiter was attentive and friendly and made up for the slight delay. The food and drinks were great. I just wished my portion of flounder imperial was a little bigger. My brother's fish and chips entree was plentiful and the fish was golden brown and crispy. Exceptional lunch service from Emma. This was our second visit here since an ownership change, and we were more favorably impressed. Despite the dreary, drizzly late winter day, Maggie's deserves to be a good deal more crowded. Great were the egg rolls and bbq beef skewers off the starters menu. Less great but still decent was the Maryland Crab Soup - more Old Bay would correct this. Fair values here for the food quality and atmosphere. We'll be back. read more

My husband and I stopped in for lunch one Friday afternoon before visiting a local farm. We started with the deviled eggs which were delicious. I had a burger and he had the grilled chicken sandwich. All of the food was fresh and great. We sat at the bar and received great service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and their wide variety menu! read more

This was my first visit, and I have to say it was a really good experience. We got there right when they opened, so there was no wait and we could sit wherever we liked. The menu had plenty of options, and the dining room had a nice electric fireplace - even in the summer, it added a cozy touch. We ordered the cinnamon roll, and while you can choose one or two, the server let us know one would be plenty to share, and it definitely was. It wasn't overly sweet, which I liked. We both had Maggie's breakfast: eggs, meat, toast, and breakfast potatoes that were especially good. I'm pretty particular about eggs, but these were some of the fluffiest and best-seasoned I've had in a while. Our waitress was efficient, helpful, and attentive. My martini was also really good. I didn't finish everything and took the rest home to enjoy the next morning. I'm looking forward to coming back for dinner sometime. read more

The staff here are very friendly and they were very accommodating when two of our friends asked to join our reservation for a holiday meal! That really made our day...Thank You!!! Turns out our friends hadn't been here in ages and they loved all the changes to the menu and the space! The brisket nachos at a table nearby looked and smelled amazing! Deviled eggs were lovely...light and bright flavor, not heavy with mayo! Hubs had the Cobb salad and says it's in the top 3 he's ever had! I had the Sesame Tuna (tartare) Salad....so fresh and full of flavor. Perfect bite and bite size to all the ingredients. Friend said the quiche was delish! We had dinner here the night before we attended a wedding. The Brussel sprouts and the chicken main dish with vegetables were absolutely wonderful!!! I don't know where some of the negative reviews came from but let me just say DO NOT miss this restaurant. The appetizers--crispy cauliflower, crab dip, southwest egg rolls and fried pickles were delicious. The chicken parm was really good. Unique sauce and two mozzarella balls on top. Chicken is crispy. The burgers were good too. The kids chicken tenders had a good size portion. The desserts--pear tart, butterscotch bread pudding and chocolate brownie sundae were the best restaurant desserts I have had lately. And the portions are enough for 3 people. Service was excellent. I use to go to Maggie's at least once a month. Since the new owners took over I have not, until Sunday. My husband and I went to grab a quick lunch and I have to say I am just disappointed all around. Service was pretty slow (which I really do not mind much). But the food is just not the same quality it used to be. My husband got a crabcake sandwich and it looked almost undercooked. Super gooey on the inside. Stopped by Maggie's for Sunday Brunch. We were driving to Westminster and just happened upon this restaurant and decided to take a chance. This is a cute, local's place. A little on the small side, however, they were able to seat us after a short wait. We ordered the Bacon Pancake Dippers as an appetizer, a wedge salad with grilled chicken, and a patty melt with a side of fries. Our food was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Our server, Emma, also the bartender, was a little dynamo! She had lots of energy and enjoyed giving her customers an enjoyable experience! We found the overall acoustics to be loud. We stopped in at Maggie's for lunch. The food was delicious! We had the Brussels sprouts to start. I loved them. They are deep fried. But the flavor was amazing. Next up was the Crème of Crab soup. The soup was killer. The crème base was flavorful and just amount of crab in the soup. Ended with Strawberry salad with lemon balsamic dressing w / blackened chicken ( I share the chicken with my wife). The greens were spinach and arugula. The strawberries and blueberries were flavorful and the candied pecans were delicious. The service was excellent. If you are in this part of Maryland, stop in for a drink or a bite to eat. read more

Brought my mom here for Mother's Day, it took a while to even be greeted and then a while again to have a server actually take our order. And yes I know what you're thinking it was Mother's Day, however I saw the same employees walk past us multiple times until a server finally stopped and asked if we were helped yet. My mom ordered the cream of crab soup, it was tasty but lots of shells. We ordered the corn and crab fritters they were huge in size but little in flavor, the remoulade sauce though was tasty. I got the classic eggs Benedict's with ham and breakfast potatoes. The eggs were cooked at two different temps, one egg was poached where it was still over easy (yum) the other egg was poached to the point where I could've made devil eggs with it (not as tasty). For the 45 min drive from Frederick it was nice to get away but I'm not sure I'd be pressed to go back for brunch again. Note- they were generous with the hollandaise sauce and it was rich and velvety!!! May have been the best part of my meal! read more

Cynivised Swiss Mushroom Burger Subbed mushrooms for bacon. The burger was juicy (even though the burger was cooked past the medium temp requested). I loved that I was able to sub out the fries for the homemade fingerling potatoes. I wish they gave more of the fingerling potatoes as a side. Crab Dip The mustard was over powering. Good amount of cheese on top. The level of garlic butter on the bread was good; it just didn't fit with the flavors of the crab hip. Not my favorite crab dip rendition. Fried Pickles Good crunchy outside, the sauce that came with it was the star of the show. A touch of spice that wasn't overpowering and added to the dish. Highly recommend getting these. One star removed for the burger temp and the crab dip flavors. Location has ample parking. The inside is farm house modern, which is super cute. I loved the decor especially the gorgeous chandelier. #1 son and I came in on Sunday pm after moving #2 son into his new home. Hunter took our orders (ice cold beers) and reminded us about 7-days a week happy hour prices till 6 so we got Maggie's Crab Dip. Nice chunks of crab and heavy Old Bay seasoning made it a perfect starter for dinner! Got two burgers to eat and one to go and a salad. Burgers were delicious, large in size and came with fries. I am done with Maggie's, and you should be too. My wife and I used to love dining at Maggie's before the change in ownership in 2021. Since that change, not only has the price increased, but the quality of food has greatly diminished. To say that Maggie's is overpriced would be an understatement. The last time my wife and I dined-in at Maggie's, we attempted to order their Brussels Sprouts Appetizer, which in my opinion is really the only good thing on their menu. The server came back to tell us that they were all out of Brussels Sprouts (at 2PM on a Saturday), so instead we ordered their crab dip. When it arrived, they gave us very little bread - in fact there wasn't enough bread for even half of the dip. When we asked for more, we were told it would be a $4.00 charge for more bread. So not only did we end up paying more than we wanted to for an appetizer, we didn't even get to finish it. I don't remember what we ordered for our meals, but we were not impressed with them and decided it was not worth dining here anymore. But because we love their Brussels Sprouts so much, we have ordered just those to go a few times since. Today we had a long day full of fall activities with our children (3 and 1), and decided to reward ourselves with an order of Brussels Sprouts to go. After waiting for nearly 25 minutes, I was out the door and back to the van full of screaming children. Excited to finally be heading back home to enjoy our appetizer, we began our 20-minute journey. We arrived home and opened the container to find 3 pieces of moldy bread. Yes, MOLDY. BREAD. No Brussels Sprouts - someone's left-over, boxed up bread that was also moldy. My wife immediately called Maggie's to tell them about their error, and their response speaks volumes of their character. No apology, just a simple, "we have the brussels sprouts here, you can come back and get them or we can refund you." They did not address their error, nor did they care that their bread is moldy. Because we live 20 minutes away, my wife told them we will not be returning to the restaurant, and asked them to refund us. My wife was asked for her number and told a manager would call us soon. No one bothered to call, which is no surprise to us. We could have written a review for Maggie's many times in the past but decided not to. But time and time again we are met with overpriced, mediocre food and even worse service. And now this time, moldy bread. I can't help but wonder how many patrons ate moldy bread tonight. Westminster deserves better. read more

They had a party in the main room ... which is good to know that is an option... and the fries were "epic" cording to my 11 year old. We had fun sitting and hanging out with other folks. Good place for drinks and appetizers. Nice atmosphere. Have had both good and bad service. Not many menu choices for vegetarian/non-meat eaters. It wouldn't be difficult to offer a vegetarian burger! The French Onion Soup was awesome. It came out piping hot. We had to wait a bit for it to cool down. We also had some wings. Those were a bit salty. Service was fast & friendly. We sat in the bar. The restaurant had plenty of parking and plenty of available seating. Thats not normally a good sign but we tried it out anyway. This place reminds me of Cheers with a hometown kind of feel. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. The drinks were not all that good. The brussell sprouts on the other hand, were extra tasty! Unfortunately, the crab cakes were underwhelming. They didnt taste good, no real flavor or seasoning. Also, my french fries were cold and hard. I can see how this place is appealing to the locals but I'll pass. Maggie's is a great spot to hang out, have a drink, eat a delicious meal, and enjoy the inviting atmosphere. We have been here several times and have always had attentive and friendly service and good food. Today the host/bartender took her time seating us and made sure my 92 yr old MiL was doing OK. Our server, Emma, too good care of us and checked in to see how we were doing. I have always enjoyed the food at Maggie's. Crispy brussels sprouts, fried pickle chips, the Rachel sandwich, Patty melt, Caprese sandwich have all been tried and were delicious. Their french fries are truly exceptional! I think they toss them in corn starch to give them an extra crispy crunch. A+ I don't mean this to be a back handed complement, but I appreciate the portion sizes at Maggie's. That is to say their portions are "normal" not super sized. I appreciate a sandwich and serving of fries that I can eat without feeling like a glutton. And their prices are reasonable for the setting, quality, and portion. That is to say reasonably priced. Lunch for four with an appetizer came to $70. I also love the varying environments within the restaurant. The bar area is a classic Irish pub. There is an open air but well-shaded patio. And inside seating features a cozy setting with a cool faux fireplace and room for larger groups. You can find what you need at Maggie's so give them a try! read more

A good place for traditional pub food in the Westminster Area. We were seated in the bar, which seemed less salubrious than the attached restaurant. Service was reasonable and snappy. Food was ok, but I expected as much for bar food. The Shepards pie was awesome, but fish and chips a little mushy and overcooked. Desserts were large - go with the cheesecake, the apple tart consisted of a lot of pastry. Not sure what they put in their coffee, but the decaf black was the best I've tasted of late. Cost was a little high, but it seems to be this way everywhere I go these days and probably a symptom of post-covid survival. Overall, a great hang out in the area. read more

We go to Maggie's probably 4 to 5 times a year with mixed experiences. During our most recent visit we found the cream of crab soup thinner than previously and it was barely hot ( which was our usual experience). I ordered my burger rare in hopes that it would come out medium rare. It was well done and went back. This is my usual experience here but I don't give up trying. My SIL ordered a French martini. We love brunch and breakfast places...but they have to be good and have lots of variety. Maggie's did not disappoint. No wonder the place is so popular! Loved the breakfast choices. I'm glad we were able to visit this restaurant. Centrally located, ample parking space and outdoor seating. Rachel was our waitress. She was friendly, personally and attentive. We ordered breakfast burritos and ginger carrot soup (the best I've had). The burritos come with some home fries and are very tasty, good and filling. During our dinner, we had a bartender/Emma, that was very rude and condescending. First, she greeted our table sharing that we need to either provide a "yes or no" if we were ready to order, as there was eight of us and we needed a moment to figure out if everyone was ready. Upon that answer, another member shared that they just needed a moment to decide, and she went on to share, "well it is obvious you are not enjoying your experience". Secondly, upon another member of our table asking to have another whiskey in his drink, just due to preference, she went on to share, "to bad you did not enjoy your first drink", which was not the case. Upon all of these comments and more, she could tell that we were getting annoyed. After ordering, we got our check, simply asking to have it split. In the beginning she shared it would be very easy to do if "we do not play musical chairs", in which we did not move once. It took 10 minutes to sort out the check, in which we got to the point to tell her to just give us one and we will disperse it. She still sat at the table WITH US and tried to figure it out on her tablet. It got to the point where I informed her that this is a bit much and we are done. The manager came over, and we shared the lack of kindness the server/bartender/Emma had displayed to us. Her comments, facial expressions, and condescending remarks were uncalled for and unnecessary. I would not recommend this server or experience to another guest. I will say, the food was very good, and the manager was apologetic of the situation. Took a good five minutes for our party of two to be greeted, then another 15 to get seated. Apparently they were short staffed. Had we been informed of this we would have went elsewhere. Extremely loud group in room next to us, eventually a server came and closed the doors. Finally get seated. Another five to ten minutes server comes over. Gets drink order, mine was incorrect of course. Table next to us had already been seated for a good 20 minutes before being waited on. Husbands good was good. My fried shrimp was burnt and rubbery. Do over was just as bad. Ended up going g home starving after 2 hours. read more
