We went here on a recommendation from a friend. I read the reviews posted in Yelp, & ordered the French onion soup, the 716 Flight, which consisted of a small beef on weck sandwich and 5 chicken wings, and a basket of fries. Our waitress Natalia was very helpful and friendly and gave us great service! My only complaint would be that the blackened wings were slathered with barbecue sauce, but definitely not blackened. Good ambience here, and we enjoyed the small outdoor patio! As a matter of fact, we enjoyed it so much, we went back a day later with more family! Next time we all ordered burgers, and I had the Flying Byrd which was served with a side of sweet potato fries, and honey. The burger was spicy Cajun style with peppers, & it was large enough that I couldn't finish it all. The fries were crispy and delicious with the side of honey. A very nice little quaint restaurant bar with good food in the middle of Orchard Park New York Banana peppers their banana pepper dip was so good but I think they stopped carrying it. Please bring it back to the menu. read more

Wednesday afternoon lunch with the girls. One person ordered the fried bologna and was happy with it, the rest of us got the 716 Flight that was a mini roast beef with 5 wings. The beef was very tender and a good portion for the smaller roll. Everyone ordered their wings crispy & we had every variety from plain to hot. Wing were done right! Emma was our server, what a doll. Oh WOW! What a great dinner. We started out with fantastic homemade French Onion Soup that was some of the best I've ever had. Followed up by a Fried Baloney sandwich and the "the 716" which is a Beef on Wick and 5 chicken wings. Very scrumptious. The Byrd House represents Western N Y food at the highest level. The service was great and the seating was nice, your able to sit outside if you would like. Nice atmosphere inside. In my opinion the food lacked flavor. I ordered chicken wing dip, French onion soup and the steak sandwich. The chicken wing dip tasted like it was canned chicken ( I don't go to a restaurant to eat canned chicken). Braving the sub-zero temperatures, we headed to The Byrd House in Orchard Park, arriving around 5:00 p.m. just as the restaurant began to fill up despite the frigid weather. I ordered the 716 Flight, which included a beef on weck slider and five hot wings. The roast beef had good flavor but was quite fatty, and the wings were disappointingly dry with minimal sauce coverage.On a brighter note, the banana pepper soup was exceptional--rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were reasonable for the quality and setting. The atmosphere remained warm and inviting, even on such a cold evening. Having enjoyed better experiences here in the past, I suspect this was an off night. Regardless, we'll certainly return to give it another shot. read more

Sometimes the most seasoned yelpers even forget to take pics we're so hungry. Tis the season for family and reconnecting and that's exactly what we did at the Byrd house. We walked in to a well decorated and cozy space. We were greeted & seated quickly. Our hostess and waitresses were quick to get our drinks and food orders in to the kitchen which is always appreciated. I was told the hot pepper soup was amazing so I had to grab a cup ( the only thing I got a pic of sadly). The kid's chicken fingers were of good size and had a healthy amount of fries on the plate. The Cuban was a little on the skinny side but the misses said it was better than the one she recently had at a different establishment. I was a little heartbroken that they ran out of wings thanks to the bills game yesterday. Really had my heart set on them today but , I guess I'll have to come back. I opted for the burger with peppers and mushrooms. The roll was buttery and fresh, burger was cooked to perfection, the only thing I can say is the beef could benefit from a little more seasoning. You pay extra for mayo, fries instead of chips etc. My husband had the pepper soup & it was super peppery tasting but he made it through. The Cuban sandwiches weren't like Florida Cubans but were ok. The food was good. The waitress with probably 4 tables at max took five minutes to even bring a water and a beer that tasted disgusting and sweet probably from the tap for a draft beer. But I also had a table of middle aged women just spewing hate. Talking about "marking herself as non binary" as a joke. And then the other woman said "don't feed into their b.s." I mean have your views but my god. I don't need to hear your hateful conversations about the black community and their crime rate and how they need to work on their "culture" again like I said our server had maybe 4 tables and was for lack of better terms awful. At first glance, this place didn't look like much. I just wanted a somewhat healthy quick lunch before my doctor's appt. I was immediately turned off by the sticker at the front inviting people to conceal and carry in the restaurant. Cringey. But I got my chicken souvlaki wrap and let me tell you, it was probably the best I ever had. Chicken was moist and flavorful. Plentiful veggies including romaine lettuce. Pita was soft and warm. I was not that impressed with this place. I got the French onion soup to start, and that was by far the best part of my meal. It was super flavorful and there was a lot of cheese. The rest of the meal however took about an hour after the soup came. This part was confusing cause the restaurant was not that busy. When the food did come, it was cold as if it was sitting out for an hour. My friends eggs Benedict was over cooked as well. Never got my dinner. Table of 4 - server dropped 3 dinners down and walked away. My beer was served in a glass that had a sugar rim. What?? We were with a group so I just sat back and waited for our server to come by. She never did. So I walked to the bar and asked for a beer without a sugar rim. I gave up on ever getting my dinner order since the rest of the table was already done with their meal. Seriously. I've never had worse service. I know this is a bar predominantly, with bar food but you should actually be able to get people the food that they order. I spoke with the owner before leaving and he was sympathetic but didn't act like he cared much. Let's blame the server is the vibe I got. My husband and I decided to share the Cuban sandwich for our lunch, sans pickles. Unfortunately I forgot the Cuban sandwich also has mustard on it, which like pickles, is not a taste I like. I was able to scrape off most of the mustard. The sandwich is easily enough to share, filled with ham, pulled pork and melted cheese on a Cuban roll. It is served with a side of French fries. The service was a little slow as, I think, there was only one waitress working during the lunch "hour". This restaurant deserves a return visit. My original choice for lunch was the turkey club, but they were out of turkey. I would like to order it next time. read more

Been here a couple of times now, cool little Village of Orchard Park hangout spot. Cocktail menu and American style food. Honestly, food was excellent. Had the chicken fajita quesadilla and the big Byrd burger which was 16oz.. it's a beast. Sweet potato fries were excellent. Drinks were ok, jalapeño marg was too sweet, cosmo was potent but good. Service was good, our server I think forgot about us for a while when we were looking for the check, but prob just a one off thing. We did take out here. Hubby had a Roast Beef sandwich and upgraded to fries instead of chips. He said the sandwich was ok. Fries looked homemade with a little skin on. Tasty I felt this was a bit pricey especially having to pay extra for fries. I had the Quesadilla. They made it with a tomato soft shell. This was more like eating a Fajita not a quesadilla. Lots of sautéed onion and peppers with chicken. I was NOT HAPPY. No side included with this and about $7 more that ordering from a pizza place! And a pizza place would've done a better job. We had dinner here on A Friday night around 7pm. I had called earlier in the day for a reservation just in case, but it seems it only would have been a short wait if I hadn't. We were seated promptly and drink and food orders were taken efficiently. We started out with the stuffed pepper bisque. Wowee was this soup tasty! It was the perfect amount of creamy and just the right kick. I would be trying to copycat this recipe if I didn't think I would eat the whole pot myself. We also got some fried Mac and cheese balls because who wouldn't want to try those? They were also good. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and my boyfriend got the fish fry. The cheese burger was huge, was cooked perfectly, and tasted great. My only criticism was the bacon was maple flavored and kind of threw off the taste of the burger because I wasn't looking for a sweet component. The fish fry was so-so, probably wouldn't order again. So much has happened to service in the past couple years. Waitress looked stressed out and made barely any eye contact. Cocktails took forever to be served. All four of us enjoyed our late lunch but not so sure we'd go back based on service.
