What a great spot for a casual, affordable date night! Tried out C Bao on a whim after seeing a post about them on social media. What a delightful, delicious experience. Some of the best crab Rangoon I've had in ages. March special is two styles of dumplings for only $8.99, and you get two full plates of 8 dumplings each, which is an incredible value, and they were fantastic. Give this place a try as soon as you can!

My friends and I stumbled upon C Bao and Dumplings and decided to stop in for lunch on a Sunday. I was pleasantly surprised by their variety of tea options--we chose the chrysanthemum tea. It was served in a teapot with a small flame underneath to keep it warm, and a filter at the spout to keep the flower petals out of the cup, which was a nice touch. We started with the pork and chive fried dumplings, and they were absolutely delicious! I wish we had ordered a second round. They offer a wide selection of both steamed and fried dumplings, which made choosing fun. Next, we tried the shrimp rice rolls and ha gow. We all appreciated how thin and delicate the wrappers were--nothing ruins dim sum like a thick, doughy wrapper. My only minor complaint is that the ha gow and siu mai came in sets of three; I wish they served four instead, which would be perfect for sharing. We also got the soup dumplings, pork and shrimp and just pork. They were good, but I wish they had included spoons and added ginger to the soy sauce--it would have made the experience even better. The beef udon was another hit--flavorful and comforting. And finally, the adorable pig-shaped buns filled with red bean paste were a sweet way to end the meal. I'd definitely recommend stopping by C Bao and Dumplings if you're craving dim sum!

This place looks adorable. There is so much seating inside and the place is so nice and clean. The workers are also super nice and accommodating the food is so good. We had a bunch of items and loved all of them. Wish there were more dumpling options that were either beef or chicken instead of pork that would've made our visit even more good but of the items we had we loved everything.

Delicious! We got the pork bao buns, chicken and vegetable fried dumplings, and pork xiao long bao. Service was kind and the inside was very clean. I 100% recommend this spot, so worth it.

Can't wait to go back! It was delicious. The dan dan noodles were hit and all the dumplings had good flavor! Normally I have to add seasoning and I thought they were delicious!

When I saw the soup dumplings they serve here, I knew it was frozen right away. I love soup dumplings, and I know I can go get a bag of soup dumplings for $5-$6 at the Asian Supermarket on Niagara Falls Blvd. It's crazy they sell the same thing here but for $1 for a single soup dumpling. Who knows what else they're selling that's just frozen stuff they heat up. Save your money and go to the Asian Supermarket and buy your own soup dumplings and steam them!

Very fresh tasting food. The dumplings were absolutely delicious. I love that the orange chicken has the orange peel in it for added flavor. I was overall very impressed with how the food was prepared and tasted.

The bread options are wonderful and she had a list of about 5-7 soups to choose from. Server was very nice as well as the girl cashing us out. My only one recommendation would be possibly finding a different vessel for the soup like a hot paper/cardboard soup cup because the plastic container is flimsy and gets quite hot! All in all will be a new frequent flyer :)

Truly the best soup and sandwich combo my husband and I have enjoyed in 25+ years together. I had the Lemon chicken and chickpea soup with a turkey, bacon, and swiss sandwich pressed on fabulous Cuban bread. The flavor of the soup was outstanding and the texture of the Cuban bread pressed with so much fresh sliced turkey and bacon that I could not even finish the half of a sandwich. My husband loved, loved, loved the French onion soup that Michelle has a secret recipe for (I am sure it's a secret because we have NEVER had French onion soup like this before)! His half of a sandwich was a turkey Reuben that was on wonderful marbled pumpernickel and rye bread with so much meat it was tough to bite into. But he did it and it was out of this world GREAT! Candy was our server and was terrific. Michelle came out of the kitchen as the owner to say hi as we had met her out of The Gateway Cafe & Grill the week before. A FANTASTIC place for lunch! Do not hesitate to stop in.

The cashier was a little gruff, but the woman running back and forth between the kitchen and the front had a better business sense about keeping customers happy. She didn't want me to wait long, so I think she rushed the kitchen a little bit, which I appreciated, but also may have led to some of the demerits on the food I mention below. I was happy to see one dish I ordered, the pig intestine with fish, on their picture board above the cash registers. That gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing and it was the best dish by far out of the three I ordered. The intestine was fresh and flavorful, the spice level was high, but also not too salty. It was a lot of food. Only drawback here was the fish (tilapia?) seemed to be heavy on the breading. The other two dishes were disappointing. Penang curry with pork had good vegetables, but the sauce had too little flavor since they went too heavy on the coconut milk. The pork seemed like chicken, not pork. Way too soft and flavorless. The Singapore Chow Mei Fun had good noodles and veggies. But the curry powder was not blended in. Eating it, I could still feel it in powder form. It was also far too oily. Overall, I think they had a lot of options but next time I'd steer more towards classic Chinese, since that seems to be what they do well. I hope next time the flavors will be stronger and blended better (i.e. powders actually stirred in). I'm willing to give them another chance, since they do have a lot of dishes I like. Last note: the online ordering service does not indicate that dishes come with rice. I thought they would have rice by default, but then when I added the penang curry to my cart, it asked whether I wanted rice or noodles or something else. So that made me think I had to order rice separately, which meant I had twice as much rice as I needed. It also said "quart of white rice" was sold out, but "pint of white rice" was not, yet the rice that came with my meal came in a quart container.

Had lunch here today. Extensive menu for rice, noodles,…read moreramen, dumplings, soups... more. Five stars because everything we had tasted fine. I would have preferred steamed dumplings, but there was no choice, fried only. The taste was very nice and they were pleasantly crunchy. (photo) I loved the broth of the soup; it was plenty hot enough and perfect for cold and flu season. I would have liked broth only, and I asked if I could have without the rice noodles. Yes, I could, but the price would be the same. Okay, so I took the noodles on the side, to go. Even so, I was shocked to see the size of the soup bowl. It had to be at least a quart of soup, with chicken, wood ear mushrooms, bok choy, fried tofu. The rice noodles would have put the soup to the brim. Seems there is only one size of everything. If all of the soups are served in these quart bowls, plan on sharing with one or two others if ordering soup. They will give you extra bowls and spoons, as they did for us. Even with the two of us having some soup, I took about a third home. (photo) I had one of the Crispy Pies, scallion and pork. The filling was too thin or maybe the dough was too thick. Or a little of both. (photo) Employees are friendly and pleasant, eager to be helpful. JBC is a new and welcome addition to the Marshall's Plaza. Prices of some things may seem high, but if the foods we had today are typical, plan on sharing or taking some home.
