Hey, Bob!
Audra M.

It's always refreshing to stop into a neighborhood bar and find the patrons and staff to be welcoming to newbies. Our bartender was super friendly and filled us in on some of the fun events they host, including a paint night and a seasonal pumpkin decorating event. They have multiple outlets along the bar for charging, which is a much-appreciated perk I wish more establishments would install. We did have to watch him "cut off" a needy customer...it was a dog who had been over-served treats! It was one of the cutest things I have ever seen in a tavern...this dog was intently staring at the bartender with such a desperate hope in his eye, just needing, "one more." The server calmly explained he had already had too many! Unlike the Gracie O'Malley's we have been to in the Six Corners area, the Edgewater location does not serve food, but they do have a popcorn machine with so many seasonings on hand. There is also a nice collection of board games. Their draft list is not too shabby. There are many Bob Ross collectibles displayed, which is fun! Upon checking in on Yelp, we discovered we would be rewarded with a free shot as a thank you for checking in. The bartender was not aware of this promotion, but honored it without questioning us once I showed him the notification on the app. Overall, it was a fun time, and we will certainly be back!

I've been coming to this bar since back when it was the Norse bar. I live on the south side of the city but whenever I'm in the neighborhood visiting a friend I like coming here. Cara, the bartender has been such a sweetheart, she makes coming here that much more enjoyable. Great beers on tap and Cara makes a killer Old Fashion! Highly recommend you try it. Moscow Mules are great as well, oh and the Long Islands. Lol, Caras great at her craft!

So a Guiness it was, poured patiently, in rounds, without a spoon and it turned out lovely. I stopped by recently after passing by many times and this couldn't be further from my experience! At around 6:30pm on a weeknight, it was pretty deserted. I think some music in the background could have helped the vibe a bit. The staff gave us our choice of seating and was friendly and attentive throughout. We started with the dry rub chicken wings with buffalo sauce and the cheese curds. I was very surprised with how good both were- the chicken wings were extra crispy, not too greasy, and seasoned very well. The cheese curds were also extra crispy on the outside and delightfully melted on the inside. The marinara sauce served alongside was average, but they went super well with the creamy ranch dressing. For mains, we ordered the corned beef with cabbage and chicken pot pie. Both were really outstanding! The corned beef was slow cooked to perfection with a delicious sauce and flavorful mashed potatoes. The chicken pot pie was also hearty with a great flavor and homemade crust. Overall, this is a great spot to get some food off of the usual track. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Come for the Magners cider on tap, stay for the outdoor patio seating open year-round (heated in winter!) and their delicious food! I've eaten here with my parents visiting town, my boyfriend as a casual/celebration night, and going out with coworkers/friends. Galway can do it all! They also sometimes have live Irish music which I haven't fully experienced but have overheard as I'm leaving and seems like such a vibe. I love their Brussels sprouts, hummus, spinach dip, cheese curds, and Reuben.

So we knew we had to visit the Claddagh Ring Pub one of these days. This neighborhood pub on Foster Avenue received some interesting "pub" earlier this season when they promised to pay for all patrons' tabs if the Bears lost to the Broncos, and sure enough the Bears blew a big lead and Claddagh Ring Pub wound up on the news because of the promo. We finally made it here one random Sunday afternoon as we stumbled in after another Bears loss. The bar was pretty packed, but the owner was super friendly to us. He noted that there was a back room with some elbow room, along with some free tavern style pizza that was not gobbled up yet by the fans. Later when I went up to the bar to order drinks, he made sure that I had the chance to place a drink order with minimal waiting. What a swell guy! Loved my pint of Guinness! Perhaps we looked like newbies, but he really seemed to care about us with his customer service. Check out their website for sports specials and happy hour deals. After our enjoyable visit, my love and I look forward to a return visit to Claddagh Ring Pub.
