Well, the verdict is in... Two Farmers, in Mount Carmel, IL, was worth the trip! Let's get to the good stuff, and I mean good. I wanted to try many things from their menu, but decided to keep it original with a double cheese smashburger. From the crispy edges in to the center was delightful. What made it even better was the Martins Potato Bun, buttered and toasted, just like you would get way back when at the G.C. Murphy store. My Mom would have certainly loved that. The most pleasant surprise was the fries!! I always order extra crispy, and a lot of places can't pull it off. But Dillon and his team... Perfection! Crispy outsides with soft and fresh potato inside. Anyone who knows me well knows, of my love of ketchup. Well, the ketchup actually took away from the taste of the fries. The seasoning Two Farmers uses is a sweet and salty combo, and the way it clings to the fries fresh out of the oil fryer, they stand on their own. Nothing else needed. My wife had the grilled-cheese bun burger and she said it was great. It is exactly what I said it was, a grilled cheese sandwich on top and bottom of the crispy edged cheeseburger. It was too big for her to finish. She, however did snake some of my fries. Wish we lived closer (next door), I really wanted to try the Homer. Just to say I had. A pink sprinkled donut bun??? I gotta go there. I know it sounds like a sales pitch, but if you are down south, in the Vincennes/Evansville area, take the time to cross the state line on into Illinois to Mount Carmel. This place has figured it out for sure! Expect extra time because they make it fresh (plus it isn't fast food!). It is well worth the wait. There is a pickup window you have to walk up to if you order ahead in the app. Also, pay attention to hours and when they are only serving ice cream and drinks as sometimes that happens. Overall this place is great, everything we have tried we absolutely love and today I decided to try a Vanilla Coke with cold foam and it is a GAME CHANGER! They use a sweet and salty seasoning on their fries to give them a unique flavor (don't worry-if you don't want it just say no seasoning) and finally tried their hot dog today and it was cooked to perfection and top quality too! Grilled chicken club was very good and the cucumber onion side was refreshing. The waitress was friendly and attentive checking several times that our drinks were full. The dining area had charming decor of old photos framed with old windows. A must come back to place next time I'm in town. read more

Two farmers food is really good the burgers are smash burgers though so keep that In mind. They fries are sweet and salty and they were really good. They have the best Coca Cola latte I have ever had .It also took a long time to get are food but I guess they were just making it fresh? It was really expensive too but the food was SOOOO GOOD. The staff were sweet as well. They had card games and Coca Cola decor in the dining area! Overall if you are willing to wait 20 minutes for your food I would recommend this restaurant! read more

Really really salty burgers so much salt on the french fries my wife literally had to scrape it off just to eat fries because we were so hungry. They may offer toppings on their burgers but I wouldn't know because I didn't offer me any. Had to ask for straw for drink. Bunch of younger kids working and looked like they could care less about anything happening. Constant traffic tells me that the locals like this stuff but I do not share their enthusiasm. I hope the ice cream is better because the burgers sucked. Edit. Messaged them and they were very nice gave me a full refund for our food. We will return and check out the ice cream. The burgers are very simple but tasty. They unfortunately do not have toppings like tomato, onion, lettuce, or pickles. And if you want sauce, its extra. The patties are smashed so thin, I would not recommend anything less than a double. The farmer sauce is really good, its like a honey mustard. And their fries are yummy and sweet! The buffy burger is the best, it comes on a pretzel bun with a yummy garlic aioli sauce. Their ice cream is good. Ive only tried the chocolate brownie so far. I just wish they either werent so expensive or you got more for the price you lay. With that said, we still go! Lol i also wish they served food at later times. read more

Went there for the 4/8/24 eclipse - the pretzel burger and bacon jam combo were AMAZING! Great people as well!
