We wanted to really like this place and had high hopes due to the other reviews but brisket was a little on the dry side and the burnt ends were a bit hard and fatty. The best thing was the tangy mustard sauce. Big open screened are in back overlooking the water. Noise level not too bad. We were hoping for better but glad we stopped to try it.

Pork was well flavored and juicy. Okra was not overly breaded and fried until crunchy. Grilled green beans were good with the pork. They were a little salty for me, but still very good. My wife had the brisket baked potato and ate almost all of it which never happens. The brisket was excellent! I normally prefer pork over brisket, but not this! The brisket was tender, juicy, and deliciously seasoned. The kiddo ate all of her slider and most of the baked beans which she and wife both said were good. We were all impressed with the sauce--not sure what it was but was absolutely amazing. Great taste and consistency. Only a couple of tables had people at them and service was attentive without being overbearing. They ate reasonably priced with good quality and portions. The beef was incredibly tender, slow-braised in a rich red wine reduction with pearl onions and mushrooms. The cream potatoes underneath were smooth, buttery, and perfect for soaking up that sauce. Every bite was delicious. We started with the Filet Carpaccio, thinly sliced and topped with shaved parmesan, capers, arugula, and crostini. Fresh, light, and beautifully plated. The bar program deserves its own mention. You can order a vodka soda anywhere, but here they elevate every drink with presentation and detail. Instead of a simple lime wedge, I watched drinks come out with full lime rounds resting on the rim. My Chocolate Martini dessert drink was practically artwork -- topped with a dehydrated orange slice, chocolate shavings, orange zest, and crossed chocolate-dipped sticks. It looked incredible and tasted even better. Atmosphere is another win here. Guests ranged from cocktail dresses to casual beachside attire and somehow it all fit perfectly. That balance is hard to achieve, but they've nailed it. We sat on the patio (about 67°) and they had the panels down, which kept it comfortable while still letting you enjoy the beachside atmosphere. Even the hallway to the restrooms was lined with art -- thoughtful details everywhere. Some restaurants look great but don't deliver on flavor. Others taste great but lack atmosphere. This place does both exceptionally well. Dinner for two with drinks came to $131 before tip, which felt very fair for the quality of food, cocktails, and overall experience. I've always treated the staff with respect and consistently leave very good tips. Unfortunately, this experience completely changed my perception of the restaurant. We went out for lunch as a family. I finished my Strawberry Salad, but it filled me up, and I barely touched the rest of my meal. I then requested a to-go container and a plastic bag, packed the remaining food myself, and placed everything inside a closed plastic bag. My daughter also left almost her entire 6oz sirloin with mac & cheese, which was packed and placed in the same bag. Because we were in a hurry, we accidentally left the bag behind. A short while later, once we realized it, I called the restaurant. To my disappointment, the first person I spoke with was dry, dismissive, and showed no interest in helping. I then asked to speak with a manager, which only made the situation worse. The manager questioned whether I had "proof," as if my word and my receipt were not sufficient. I was told that no staff member reported that a guest left anything behind and that "they clean the tables." That explanation is unacceptable. This was a closed plastic bag containing clearly packed food, not loose leftovers on a table. Our server, Chuck, who received a very generous tip, did not make any effort to have the food held, even briefly. Instead, it was simply thrown away. No courtesy. No consideration. No customer care. I was not asking for a refund or special compensation. I simply expected basic decency and common sense, especially from a restaurant where I had been a loyal customer to both this location and the brand. This situation was offensive and deeply disappointing. You did not lose a customer because of a mistake, but because of the attitude and how this situation was handled. We started with the octopus in garlic sauce 5/5. It was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Easily the highlight of the meal. The shrimp in garlic sauce, served with Portuguese chips and white rice, was a bit of a letdown 2/5. There was very little sauce for the shrimp to soak up, and the flavor just didn't hit the mark. The biggest disappointment was the grilled Portuguese sausage 0/5. It was fatty, cold when served, and honestly inedible. George tried three times to warm it up for us. What made it more frustrating was watching other tables receive theirs flambéed tableside. Ours came out pre-cut and at what felt like refrigerated temperature.
