Since moving to Florida from New Jersey, I've definitely missed having easy access to good Portuguese food. My friend Angela suggested we try Palm Harbor Grill, where she's had good experiences in the past. The restaurant is located in a strip mall alongside other spots and appears to have been recently renovated. Inside was clean, organized, and nicely decorated. Our waiter, George, was friendly, down-to-earth, and very accommodating. He also spoke Portuguese, which made it easy for Angela to communicate. The menu was just okay. While it offered traditional Portuguese dishes, it also included Italian options, which felt a little out of place for a restaurant presenting itself as Portuguese cuisine. We started with the octopus in garlic sauce 5/5. It was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Easily the highlight of the meal. The shrimp in garlic sauce, served with Portuguese chips and white rice, was a bit of a letdown 2/5. There was very little sauce for the shrimp to soak up, and the flavor just didn't hit the mark. The biggest disappointment was the grilled Portuguese sausage 0/5. It was fatty, cold when served, and honestly inedible. George tried three times to warm it up for us. What made it more frustrating was watching other tables receive theirs flambéed tableside. Ours came out pre-cut and at what felt like refrigerated temperature. When we asked why ours wasn't served the same way, we were told that presentation style costs an additional $6. Really? I had the sangria, which was enjoyable though slightly on the sweeter side 3.5/5. Overall, I truly wish this experience had been better, especially considering the drive to Palm Coast from Jacksonville. I was hoping for a taste of home, but unfortunately, it fell short this time. read more

Really good food and really great service. Very authentic Portuguese. We went yesterday for Easter Sun so we didn't get a regular full menu. But nonetheless the food was still good. The restaurant is a little dark. I wish the lights were up a little more. I liked that there was a live guitarist playing. The Sangria, the polvo and the bacalhau na broa was delicious 10/10. The cabrito was decent. I've had much better. It lacked flavor and sauce and it was a little dry. The desserts were all excellent even the flan and I'm very picky with the flan. But it tasted just like my mom's. We will be back! read more

Horrible service and horrible lunch. Server served my soup with his thumb in it and the soup had bones in it. When I complained he said it's the Portuguese way, which it is not. My husband is from Portugal and even he said it was bad. Server never checked on us until the end but had time for cigarette breaks. Dining room was dark. Owner sat with his dog in his lap unaware of the bad food and ambiance. My husband got a bifana - burnt peppers, onions and flavorless. And while we were walking out, my husband overheard the server complaining to the bar staff that we've been in before and we are never happy. Not a good look. We had the seafood paella and they have a better quality octopus and we had that grilled. On the menu was a bacalao dish so we were very pleased and enjoyed that also. The owner was so nice and took the time to really get to know our party. The waitstaff was top notch, very professional and attentive! I have a very bad review for this restaurant. Everything was awful. The server was excellent but even he knew it wasn't good.we had the chicken parm. Awful. We had the ribs. Pure fat inedible. Had no flavor and cooked poorly. For $200 it was terrible.i would never mind paying for food if it's good. Sadly it was $200 wasted. And what makes it worse they charge a surcharge for using a credit card. Also the drinks you paid for the booze and separately for the club soda in it. Never got more water after the first glass, sangria tasted like just wine and Oj, one person's grilled chicken was dryyyyy, pork and clams very salty. Linguini with veggies was swimming in oil. Bread was great. The insult to injury moment was being charged extra for using a charge card, $8.56 per check! Regardless of how much you spent. And note the tip has been added in, but it's in smaller print, so a few people overtipped by mistake after seeing the "suggested tip" amounts in the bottom. Bathroom was clean so there's that. This is my favorite restaurant in Palm Coast. My go-to plates are the grilled chicken breast and the top sirloin. The grilled chicken is very flavorful with the right amount of spice. The booths are very large and comfortably fit six people. Every meal comes with complimentary bread and olives - both are delicious! The restaurant is popular with the local Portuguese community. If you come at peak times, expect to wait some for your food. My best advice is, come hungry and leave happy! read more

Came with a group of 6 and we ALL ordered the Portuguese chicken!! Hahaha it's that good!!! They slow grill the chicken over a "churrasco" and wow the flavors!! Smoky, crunchy, little bit of spice, but nothing crazy just the perfect amount, and melt in your mouth juicy chicken. I got my chicken with fries and rice and both sides were also great. We had come here many years ago and it was nice to see the space expansion of the place allowing for more tables and room. Came here to get takeout on Father's Day. Place was packed and really really busy. The takeout is situated with the kitchen and is rather cramped. The kitchen was running like clockwork but still seemed a little overwhelmed. This place I think is the first one where I've seen a full size charcoal grille used to grill everything that needs grilling: steaks, octopus, chicken. The dining room was full and the takeout was completely packed, so the order I placed for takeout seemed to suffer a little bit because it was rather large. And it took nearly an hour to get everything ready. Octopus was great, so was the chicken and steak but it seems that the dishes get a little too much of fries or rice to go along with it, so that I would change but overall a great place to visit either to eat in or take out. read more

Amazing artwork from Portugal surrounds the walls, and some uniquely beautiful tiled pictures. The tables are large and have plenty of space in between them. We always come her to celebrate a birthday anniversary or holiday. Today is my mothers 91st birthday. I can honestly not complain about the food. The food is excellent. No matter what you order. Today however we had to wait over an hour for our meals; asked for more napkins and the party of 4 received 2 napkins. Had to ask again. What an interesting experience eating in a Portuguese restaurant. Nice, casual atmosphere. We ordered the appetizer platter that had an array of seafood bites. Portuguese beer, a crisp lager, went well with it. Entrées were composed of paella for one, seafood and rice stew, and chicken with rice and black beans. Portions were huge and all were delicious. Totally disappointed today. This was our second time there. We were seated then entire staff did not even acknowledge we were there. Other tables after ours were seated and immediately taken care of. Have been here numerous times. Visited for dinner last night, food was very good. However I was shocked and surprised when I received my bill where mention was made that if I paid for my bill with credit card I'd be charged 3.5% more. This is unethical and in the state of a Florida it is illegal to charge the customer for the credit card surcharge. Not only is the comment on the bill deceiving making it should like you are getting 3,5% discount if you pay cash, but in fact if you are paying by credit card you are charging me more for the food than is listed in the menu. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told he had left for the day (at 7pm). This is totally unacceptable and I will be contacting the appropriate authorities. read more

Delicious!!! Every bite of everything we ordered was so good! Staff was friendly and nice. I've never eaten at a Portuguese restaurant and it did not disappoint!! Our server recommended the shrimp with garlic sauce as an appetizer and it was delicious! We even dipped our bread in the sauce cause it was so good.
