Awesome food; great service and the view is perfect because it's right on the river!!! My husband and I started with the camp 'chos for our appetizer. It consisted of nacho chips with BBQ pulled pork, cheddar jalapeños and lime crema. For our entrees, I had the slow burn burger. It was topped with pepper jack cheese, spicy BBQ sauce, bacon, jalapeño peppers, and haystack onion strings on a homemade bun. My husband had the smokey and the burger...it was topped with cheddar, pulled pork, bacon and haystack onions. We got in at 3:20 and we orderer drinks, they had to make 3 separate trips to get them out. Then we placed our order at 3:30. And we didn't receive them until 4:00, and this was after a table came in after us, and received there appetizers and entree before we got ours. read more

Yall. This place is awesome. The location is amazing, with the windows looking out on the Mississippi, and the atmosphere is adorable and quaint; just what you want when you come to Natchez. The service was amazing, starting with the incredibly friendly host, who we found was actually the manager. The drinks were great, the bartender was nice and quick, and the beer selection was amazing (highly recommend Suzie B). Our server, Amy, was amazing, quick, friendly and personable. We asked her about plantation recommendations, and she sent over their resident expert and manager, Thomas. He took the time to talk about several places in the area and gave us great insight - very cool guy. Lastly, the food was AMAZING. Everything we had was delicious. Do yourself a favor and get the catfish! Also the best fried pickles we've EVER had. We will certainly be back the next time we come through Natchez, and I hope Amy and Thomas are there again! This place puts out a BAD burger right on the banks of the mighty Mississippi. The hand cut fries with special smokey catsup should be used as the standard for French Fry quality. The small relaxed dining area provided an enjoyable experience. read more

Great burgers! My wife got the Shroom burger and I got Smokey and the Burger. Both were very tasty and were accompanied with home fries. The atmosphere was relaxed and there were many tv's in the walls. The location is right off of the Mississippi River. Definitely a return trip in the future. read more

Wish I could give a 4.5! We were taking a road trip up the Natchez Trace, which is BEAUTIFUL, by the way! The restaurant location/view is great, the food was Excellent, but the service was a little lacking. They were pretty buys the day after Christmas, and maybe a little under staffed, but some training multitasking and efficiency would have made a huge difference. This had to be the WORST experience of our trip to Natchez. We LOVE Natchez and the historical value of this wonderful community. We stopped in "The Camp" because they rave of the 18 taps of craft beers. We tried to order draft beer but was told the taps were not working. Okay, we understand .. we ordered dinner from the menu .. I ordered the Chop Chop, but was told we don't offer the Chop Chop anymore. Okay, ordered a burger and asked for fried but to add jalapeños and cheese .. this was an extra $3.00 .. we asked if they would wave the extra charge since no craft beers or Chop Chop .. the waitress said no the manager wouldn't wave extra charge. We spoke with the manager Sarah and she said she didn't have the authority to wave the charge .. get better folks .. so my burger comes and the fries with cheese and jalapeño are cold, burger hot but fried cold AND my wife food didn't come. We waited another 15 minutes for her food to come .. coincidence or being punished for complaining to the manager? The waitress was apologetic and working to makeup for all the issues. The manager Sarah came back to our table to ask how our meal was .. are you kidding? Umm the issue previously and then my wife's food not turned in and came out 15 minutes later .. on purpose or incompetence? We didn't ask for anything other than to wave the $3.00 extra fee for the fries that were cold and uneaten .. again nope, Sarah as the manager didn't have the authority to wave the fee. Needless to say, it was a bad experience and we won't be back to The Camp and will share our bad experience with others. We did take care of the waitress as she was working hard to try to makeup for the issues, our issue was with the level of incompetence with the manager who claimed she had no authority to make a decision. If this is the business model of The Camp, I won't be the only one with poor customer service. read more

Exquisite location, we ate on the front porch overlooking the Mississippi. I recommend the honeysuckle vodka blackberry Collins. It was perfect. My friend had an amazing craft beer. He loved his burger and the fries were seasoned just right, not bland. I had the bbq pork Asian tacos. The pork was tender & the sauce was delicious. The proprietor waited on us. We stopped for lunch at The Camp, Under the Hill because it was...Under the Hill. Great place to watch the Mississippi flow by, eat great food and relax. Bar in one room. We were driving through from Memphis back home to New Orleans and decided to stop in Natchez to check it out. We stopped at the camp for dinner, the view is amazing, the restaurant itself is beautiful, and the man who greeted and sat us was so nice! Our waitress was not very good. Food was okay. Here's the kicker.... I'm not even sure how to say this but here goes. I went to the restroom right after another person, and just sat down. No worries right?! Wrong. Very wrong. So there's shutters on the inside of the window no curtain, no fogged glass, no barrier. The shutters were open so I look out the window and employees are out there pointing at me, looked like she was telling more kitchen people that I was in there. Honestly, what bothered me was that they wouldn't walk away so I could get up and put my pants on. We just had a stare off. So I just got up turned around and pulled my pants up an awkward minute later. Washed up walked out and asked for boxes and the check. The waitress tried to justify why they were standing there to me. Wtf. Unacceptable. I get that the building is old and maybe they didn't want to change the Windows, but dear god WALK AWAY SO I CAN GET UP. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this place during our recent stay in Natchez and were so glad we did! We had dinner reservations down the street so we stopped in to kill some time and grab drinks and a quick appetizer. We got the guacamole which was AWESOME. My girlfriend got the Porch Punch and said it was sweet and delicious. We sat outside and watched the mighty Mississippi flow by- a beautiful view. After checking out the menu we decided we needed to stop in for lunch the following day before heading out of town. We couldn't pass up the guacamole and ordered it again. I got the Camp Dip and she got the brisket- both were outstanding. Both days we were greeted by the owner and enjoyed chatting with him. His West coast style combined with traditional southern dishes makes for unique and flavorful menu items. His selection of local and imported draft beers is impressive and we enjoyed the laid back and welcoming atmosphere. A great spot! read more

First with the fried appetizers; we got the pickles/jalapeños and it was the only thing I had there that I wasn't crazy about. It was a bit greasy and had tons of jalapeños it it, I'm sure others like that it just wasn't for me. The burger however was top notch, fresh ground meat and authentic! Cold craft beer.... we stopped in Natchez for lunch before driving the Trace. what a great place! great menu, good service from a sweet pregnant mama, good food and a great view. didn't feel like a pub or a sports bar - more like a house with TVs everywhere. it was great. I had the pulled pork nachos (SO fantastic!) and split the chicken BLT salad with my baby boy, and my husband had the club sandwich. it was the best looking sandwich i've seen in awhile. thank you!! we'll be back when traveling through again! read more

Clean, comfortable atmosphere, decent food, reasonably priced, but very poor service. They had one server taking care of the entire dining room (9+ tables), and my party of 4 had to flag the server down every time we needed a drink refill. We also asked both our server and the bartender to have one of the TVs switched to ESPN (as it is a sports bar), and they both told us the remotes were lost (we could see 2 sitting next to the TVs behind the bar). Would have been a pleasant experience had the service not been so unfriendly and unwelcoming. It's almost as if they knew we were from out of town and treated us as outsiders. read more

This restaurant is located "under the hill". We came here to see the sunset over the Mississippi. It makes for great photos. Afterwards, we had a few beers in the bar. They have a large selection of local beers on draft. After a few drinks, we opted to move to the dining room and eat. My large sandwich had some pulled pork on it and was delicious. My husband had a tasty burger of some sort. Both were very good. And the wait staff were very friendly and attentive to us. read more
