I have been a Camp member for 2.5 years now and love it here! My gf introduced me during the pandemic and I've been hooked! All the staff members and coaches are very friendly and motivating! I have befriended alot of them there and met some great people along the way with the same fitness goals in mind! I do not agree with how your team withheld information during orientation and the conversation during our 5 week check in.  I legitimately feel scammed and offended.  For starters, I was told  "your credit can be used towards monthly memberships"  NOT only 10 months and on... they made it sound like it could pay for a few more months at a time!!! Then,  I was shocked that 2 different weigh ins I didn't lose ANYTHING, even though I FTDI.   Guy finally decides to tell me WEEK 5 "Ohhh! no one told you that women dont LOSE weight on menses week?? That's why we tell y'all to treat it like a 5 week challenge" THAT shocked me... when did they ever say that before??   WHY would y'all omit that CRUCIAL piece of info during our FIRST consultation when we asked questions??  Berenice even asked if women had a harder time and we were told NO.. that it's just normal to plateau some weeks.. but no one wanted to say the truth!! For those of us whose menstruation is not average,  this crucial piece of information would've helped me calculate that the 6 weeks challenge wouldn't be for me.   I would've GLADLY paid a 6 month membership instead of throwing away 500 on a challenge y'all knew would be near impossible to reach for some women.  I 100% believe in your trainers and the workouts but NOT the 6week time frame nor the crap orientation we received.  No one ever mentioned to "treat this like a 5 week challenge nor that it was due to being a woman and having menstrual cycle" prior to our 5th week. To top it off I was told by a MAN, " If other menstruating women could do it, why can't you?? " How DARE y'all?  Y'all don't know what some of us go through ON A MONTHLY for DECADES.   Some of us bleed more than once and longer than a week!!!!  I was then told to do Tilapigus and I asked "with  protein powder for every other meal still?" And was told "I'M NOT SURE" I left infuriated.  How the hell do y'all assume and then judge me for MY cycle AND then NOT know wtf I can or can't eat??? Y'all were supposed to be supportive.  The following day the guy said he wanted to clarify because it seemed LIKE I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND...UM....I fluently speak 2 languages.. I'm pretty sure I understood what he had said!!! He goes on to say that he MEANT we don't SHOW  weightloss on menses week, but that we show the following week.    That's still crap... because what if I was still retaining fluid on my last weigh in???????? HOW IS THAT FAIR??? He then told me that he double checked and I couldn't drink protein powder that last week. I'm thankful for the follow up but it was already after I'd left beyond pissed off... why do that to someone??  Your site needs to train everyone on the SAME orientation and teach them to be respectful when talking about what could be someone's medical issues.  At this point, the pathetic credit of 194 is pointless.  Since it was clarified to me that I couldn't use it towards another month of workouts as the girl had said during our orientation.     Complete scam of a challenge, not gym, just the challenge... IF I ever recommend this place,  it'll be because of the incredible trainers and their routines, and THAT'S IT.  Dealing with the weigh ins and having to be judged for not being "normal" was beyond unpleasant. read more

I highly recommend the camp to someone who is looking a for a fun , effective and positive transformation . I just finished my final weigh in today. And I did it! I lose 20lbs (20.2 to be exact ) on my 6 weeks challenge with The Camp Transformation Center - San Jose. It was an amazing journey. I started attending here 1.5 years ago when I was over 40 lbs overweight and not motivated to exercise. I started with a 6-week challenge and I've stayed. I've lost over 20 lbs and kept it off. The HIIT style classes are doable for any fitness level, you can modify as needed and the staff and participants are very friendly. I love that I don't need to think about my workout and I know I'll get a great full body workout. The facilities are a bit basic: bad lighting, no showers, small changing rooms, far from work and home but the quality of the classes and instructors has kept me going back. There are so many classes to choose from. You don't need to join a challenge, take private training, join social events or buy the products they sell, but they are available if you want them. More expensive than other gyms but highly motivating! I feel stronger than ever and way more socially connected with what they call their AFF (Awesome Fit Family). Thank you, Camp! read more

Thanks for the clear instructions about meal plans and helpful apps that make everything go smoothly even it's not easy program. It's difficult but not impossible. With all helping from my coaches, I believe that I can do it. 5 more weeks to go! I cannot wait to see the result after 6 weeks of this challenge. I will update what I got after the program ends. This is a late review as I originally wanted to only review food but this is worthy of it. In 2018, I hit rock bottom in terms of my health. I decided to do something about it. I visited this place and met the front desk staff who took me for a tour of the facilities and explained the program. Sounds like a gimmick, right? WRONG! People will call it a gimmick if they fail. The course is hard. 30 workouts in 6 weeks and a strict diet that they coach you on. The place is high energy! The first day left me so sore that I could not go for a few days. That's my fault. I was out of shape. Well, the next week got easier and easier again. My half way check-in was remarkable. I lost about 6lbs and lost around 4.7% body fat (Oh, my challenge was to lose 5% BF within 6 weeks....no easy feat). I was so motivated by the results that I started to do double days and worked out morning and evening. The entire place is packed and so lively. The energy is not only from the coaches but the people themselves. This isn't a Gold Gym. This is every Average Joe and Jane that shows up either 4am in the morning or 7pm in the evening. We all go for a purpose: to better our health. I did the challenge again and once again, dropped body fat and was down to 14.2%. All the way from 24.7% (unhealthy). Now they do upsell you on the vitamins and supplements, but there is no pressure. I purchased mine after researching on Amazon and Walmart. In the end, it's all about how much effort you put in. At my age, I was able to lift more than ever, and do 4ft box jumps, 25 pull-ups in a row and even did their Silver Elite Challenge was just such a fun experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a kick in the rump to get in shape! I owe my health improvement to David (the owner), Marisol, MaryAnne, Kristy, Eman, Tien, Cathy and the other coaches who were there for me during my transformation. read more

I got so bulky here without even knowing anything about fitness. It was definitely life changing for sure but I no longer go here and I do orange theory now. So, I have to fix the way that I look to get that lean body that I would like. I am into the pilates sort of look. I have 10 days left to beat this challenge. There is actually quite a list of things I still need to complete besides losing the 5% body fat. One of them is to check into yelp at least 10 times. So if you decide to take the challenge make sure you go over that check list early and get as many of these online/social media things out of the way! Best wishes and good luck to all the future challengers Here is my extensive review I posted on Facebook Hi everyone and future challengers. I'm at the end of My 5th week of the hard body challenge. It started on 1/9/2023 and I was 145 lbs and had 39% body fat. I was scared and overwhelmed on my first week but the 50 minute HIIT classes were actually fun and the coaches are nothing but encouraging, fun, motivating, helpful, and positive. Thank goodness I didn't feel any discouragement. The coaches are a big reason why I kept making it to class. By my 3 week mid-challenge weigh in I lost 10 lbs! I was 135 lbs and had 36% body fat. Right on track as their contract agreement suggested. However, week 5 is very hard, I started to get gym fatigue like I needed a break from class, so I started just using their treadmill to take it easy on my knees because HIIT involves a lot of jumping, burpees and squats. So, when you take the challenge be aware that the 5th week is tough and that's when you don't want to lose motivation, steam, or sight of your goals. Find a way to lift you higher in that 5th week so you feel great and happy to complete the challenge. Finally, I was so caught up in wanting to loose the 5% body fat and getting my full refund back that I lost track of all the social media requirements that are in the challenge agreement. So now I'm worried that I might miss something and lose the money! So here are the things that I'm double checking I get done right now. 1) work out/ attend HIIT class 5 times per week for 6 weeks or a total of 30 HIIT class or more. 2) change my Facebook profile page to their template photo. 3) check into the camp on Facebook at least 20 times and say at sentence each time, which I'm pretty sure did. 4) check into yelp at least 10 times which I didn't know how to do until now and so far I only have 1 check in ::sad:: 5) rate and provide a comprehensive review on both Facebook and yelp at least 100 words which I'm doing right now right now. 6) share my reviews and tag the director or manager on social media...who I have to find and still need to request to be his friend. I mean, these are the main requirements for the social media aspect of the challenge and I'm worried I might miss something. So I hope this list helps future challengers and be sure to get these out of the way early so you don't have to stress out about them now like I am. Overall, I'm very thankful for having lost 10 lbs in less than 5 weeks and knowing that it's possible and it makes a huge difference in my appearance. It's hard work but it feels good to have fun at the gym, meet people, work out to good music, and the best feeling is when you hear the recorded chick say "work-out complete" read more

After completing the 6 week challenge I was completely hooked on The Camp. They literally do all the planning and set up for you to succeed. All you need to do is bring yourself and your energy. I've gone to many gyms and fitness establishments but none have motivated me like TC. The coaches really get to know you and motivate you to push yourself and step out of your comfort zone. Challenge Round 2! I officially successfully finished up my second rollover challenge and have never been happier with the results. I not only changed physically but mentally as well. I just complete my first challenge this past Monday and I beat it! I lost 23.1lbs over the past 6 weeks and I couldn't be more proud of myself. A coworker and I decided to give this place a try after seeing a few other women at our work lost lots of weight. We wanted to get a jump start on a diet and workout plan in time to feel good about ourselves for summer. Yes it is expensive but an investment in your health is totally worth it. Plus you do have a chance to get your money back when you reach your goal weight or else you can always roll it into a membership. I do honestly believe that it did help me shed unwanted weight in a lot shorter time frame than has I just gone to my own gym and did my own diet. What I loved the most about the camp is the workouts. The trainers all really care about their jobs and are there to help you every step of the way. I completed the 6 week / 20lb challenge and lost over 20lbs. It was actual easier than I thought it would be. I'm up most mornings for the 6am workouts which kick off my days and I feel energized throughout. The meal plans were simple but I felt like eating every 2.5- 3 hours took up so much of my day. You must drink a gallon of water throughout the day as well to stay hydrated. The positive is that I was always too full to get cravings so that's good I guess. They sell shakes and supplements there but I stuck to my meal prep list and was fine with just that. I'm a pretty introverted person so I'm fine keeping to myself but the check in staff always knew my name when I checked in and the trainers were pretty good about being friendly and courteous when correcting form or answering questions. Make sure to bring your own yoga mats as classes are outside (bc COVID) and there are floor exercises as well as weights and light cardio. There's also a zoom class everyday when you can't make it out but the majority of the classes should be at the gym in person. A few things to note: During orientation prior to a challenge, they will go over expectations and answer questions prior to signing a challenge agreement. Some of the fine print include - Must check in on Facebook w challenge logo 5x per week - Must weigh in weekly and meet target weights - Must write a FB & Yelp review after challenge - May have to lose more than 20lbs There is a chart in the contract that shows the healthy weight based on Height and gender. I need to lose 50lbs to hit my healthy weight so I need to role over my deposit into each challenge until I hit that requirement. - A $497 refundable challenge fee. I was really scared and hesitant on going to the camp due to me being scared at first. I didn't really know what to expect, I didnt know anything about the camp either. Even though I live 2 blocks away from it. I finished the challenge and lost almost 7 pounds! I was so freakin proud of myself! my wife and I ended up signing up for a membership after our challenge. When I first began and I was actually doing the workout I said to myself "What am I doing here" "What did I get myself in to" lol the first week was tough; with the food and the workouts Omg my body was in shock. This place is great! Alan provided a great orientation and always has pertinent and helpful information and resources. The front desk staff are always friendly and welcoming. The coaches are encouraging and have great energy. They take time to get to the know the members. Everyone is friendly and seems excited to be there. No posers standing around trying to be cute. Just people serious about their health and fitness. The workouts are great - the music is perfect for me to stay motivated (lots of hip hop and club jams). The only drawback is the lack of cardio machines. There are two treadmills, plenty of bikes and stair climbers. The treadmills are often full before or after class. However, I didn't sign up for the cardio machines. I signed up for a challenge, the workouts and the accountability. I had hit a plateau, and this program helped me get losing again. I was plagued by injuries so probably won't lose the full 20 in six weeks, but I anticipate at least 18, which is fantastic. read more

I completed the Hard Body challenge and lost 5.4% body fat over 6 weeks!! It was during Covid and the desire to workout and eat healthy with basically no sugars for 6 weeks was very nonexistent! BUT, the desire to keep adding on Covid weight and becoming more unhealthy was a little bit bigger, big enough to put down a $500 deposit(that would be refunded if I completed the challenge) in the hopes of it pushing me to be more accountable to myself to at least get my money back. The best piece(and hardest) of this challenge was the meal plan because I am a foodie and love pizza, sweets and I'm a hardcore carbivore. But I stayed consistent and now I fit back into my pants so I don't have to go buy a whole new wardrobe. If you are a hard worker, have a strong why and are ready for change than this is the place for you. This franchise is successful because of the systems they have in place, you don't have to worry about who the trainer is because the system will give you a great workout. I did the 6-week hard body challenge (lose 5% body fat) with The Camp, and whew, you definitely have to committed to make these goals. You're given a diet plan, exercise program w/ homework, and full access to The Camp's facilities and HIIT classes. I didn't think it was possible, but I managed to lose 5.8% body fat, and it's really kickstarted me getting into a healthier lifestyle. The HIIT classes are amazing, and the exercises/circuits are varied enough that I don't get bored. Plus the coaches give plenty of modifications to either make the workouts easier or harder. They also help correct your form if needed, and they have a form class about once a month. I've worked out at other places before, months with CorePower Yoga and Soul Cycle, and some classes at Barry's bootcamp and Orange Theory. But the camaraderie and friendliness of the staff and students at The Camp was on another level. And I saw more results in a shorter time period. Highly recommend read more

I successfully completed my first hardy body challenge (9/28/20-11/8/20)! Due to COVID-19, I had not worked out since April besides going on long walks. Previous to the pandemic, I would take classes at Barry's and was a member of Core Power Fitness. I've been to a variety of workout studios/classes and The Camp Transformation Center is by far my favorite for the following reasons: 1. The staff is welcoming 2. The coaches make sure we have the correct form and are encourage us to push ourselves 3. I feel like I belong 4. Every workout is organized and different, so you don't get bored 5. The program stresses the importance of having a proper diet and not just working out regularly I'm not going to lie it was pretty challenging following the diet plan, but it made me realize how much more energy I have when I eat healthy and how much of an impact your diet has on your fitness journey. Having to do three weigh ins and the Facebook/Yelp check ins helped me stay on track and motivated me to continue on with the challenge. I ended up losing 5.8% body fat and 5.5 pounds in 6 weeks! May have not got to my goal but the atmosphere here was amazing. Very disappointed that this was advertise FREE but we had to put a payment down of $500.. The down fall to all this was coaches told me to stick with the diet mid point when I gained 1.1 body fat and at the end I lost that but overall only lost 0.9.. Very disappointed that I didn't get to lose that 5% body fat. If there was one thing I would've changed is the challenge. I would've done the 20lb challenge just because it's an easier goal personally. This also made me see a lot of fat in my stomach which was very discouraging considering how it wasn't that bad until I started. My parents are very disappointed in me but it was a great experience! Met great people. Coaches were very nice and helped a lot. read more
