Great place my dog loves the really looks forward to it every week I highly recommend them

We've been through the gamut of dog groomers in central Brooklyn, from those who no longer exist, or have become, attitude-wise, too big for their britches (I'm thinking Brooklyn Heights) to mobile groomers (easy, but unreliable). Ciao Bow Wow is great for grooming our two Maltese. They care, they ask questions, I learned new vocab ("leather", along the ear), our dogs (two Maltese) always come out looking fabulous. My only reserve is that I have to take them back to be groomed every two months, which is a lot of money to spend, and it's hard to get a spot. Lots of money and few spots, but it seems worth taking your dog(s) to Ciao Bow Wow for grooming. Sara is the best! read more

I have been hesitant with daycare because my pup is nervous around other dogs, but decided to try Ciao Bow Wow and I am so grateful I did! The staff (especially Anna, his guardian angel) are wonderful, so kind and gentle. They clearly care deeply about Logan and his individual needs, which is exactly what I was looking for in a daycare. My un-social pup has made big steps forward in daycare and on walks, and I could not be happier! read more

We love Ciao Bow Wow more than I can put into words. Our Millie gets so excited as soon as she understands where we are walking to, she usually hates going on walks in general but not when going towards CBW. Savanna is extremely sweet and helpful. In videos of Millie playing there she looks so happy and has so many friends. It's very helpful while we are working from home to have her still go to daycare and then the days she doesn't she is still tired from all the playing. Millie also has her grooming down at CBW which is so easy since she's already there for the day. read more

We LOVE Ciao Bow Wow!!! Our dog pulls us into daycare every time we take her and is just as excited to see the wonderful staff as she is the other pups. I feel really confident that I'm leaving our dog in good hands. The staff is super attentive, and if I've ever flagged an issue they provide communicative updates on how she's doing and I really feel like they treat her as if she was their own dog if she's not feeling 100% or needs help resocializing (which was especially important to us after many months of quarantining for the COVID 19 pandemic). It's so clear that the owner, Sara, loves dogs and values the community of pet owners who rely on her to take care of their dogs. We also take our dog to CBW for grooming. At other groomers, she resists going in and when we pick her up she is cowering. At CBW, she always seems fine and on the occasion that I have picked her up while the groomer was present, it's clear that she likes the woman who grooms her. (She also gets a great haircut there. :)) read more

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!!! OWNER IS HORRIBLE, OVERCHARGES YOU AND DOES NOT TREAT YOUR DOG PROPERLY. So this place I was a total fan of when we first started... then apparently the owner came off of her meds or something. Only send your dogs there if you really do not like and you wanted to be treated horribly. The owner Sara, acts as if she is amazing and LOVES pets... she is really good at putting on a show. She is CRAZY... She forgot our dogs in a crate for over 8 hours and then had the audacity to let me know whey she was pissed at me. Then when I went to get my dogs she gave me the wrong one and acted as if I did something wrong. The best part is that I referred so many people to her and her response to that was that she did not give a "F" about referrals. I was so pissed and was trying to be calm about it then she told one of her staff members that I was gay and beyond dramatic. She said that all the gays are dramatic and too much and she hates when they come in because they are way to into their dogs. Oh and they lie about how they treat them.... there are spray bottles all over the place and when I asked if they used them they all said no yet my dogs had wet spots all over them. then I witnessed them spraying other dogs and screaming at the rest of them. I love Ciao Bow Wow and so does my jack russell/rat terrier mix, Chloe! Every morning she's so excited to walk to Ciao Bow Wow - she can't wait to get there to play with all of her friends. Sara and the staff are wonderful - they treat Chloe like she's their own. I have nothing but great things to say about both the facility and the staff! The facility itself is very comfortable, homey, and well-lit. We checked out other daycare centers in the neighborhood and they looked dismal (more like dog prison than daycare). Ciao Bow Wow has two floors, couches, surfaces for pups to jump/play, and a small outdoor space for pups to get some fresh air. The facility is kept very clean and always smells wonderful (like lavendar) - they use eco-friendly cleaning products so it always smells pleasant and not like chemicals. Chloe always comes home smelling so nice and fresh! We started Chloe on the 10-day/month package and eventually switched to the every weekday "unlimited" package so she can run out her puppy energy every day. They are open relatively early (7:30AM) and close reasonably late (7:00PM). Additionally, Ciao Bow Wow offers complimentary one-way drop-off or pick-up; since my husband and I are both working professionals who don't always get out of work in time to pick up Chloe, this is a wonderful perk! We will continue to use Ciao Bow Wow as Chloe's primary daycare center as well as recommend Ciao Bow Wow to friends/neighbors! read more

This is a grooming review... this was one of the best experiences we have had with getting our dog groomed, and she is 11 so that is a lot of grooming experiences. Sarah was super nice and very attuned to and good with our dog. The prices were reasonable, and the haircut she gave her was great and just what we requested. Highly recommend! read more

I just moved back to the area with my 2 pups and found this amazing doggie daycare and grooming spot- the people are enthusiastic and so loving toward the dogs, it is clear that they know each and every pup. Since adopting my pup from the shelter, I've had a really hard time finding the right groomer as he absolutely cannot be crated. Luckily, Ciao Bow Wow is 100% cage free! When we first arrived, my pup was a bit hesitant, but Sara was amazing and got right down to his level and made him(and me) feel comfortable and at ease. You could tell that she has tons of experience with all different types of dogs and immediately knew how to build his trust in a matter of mere seconds. In the past, I've almost felt embarrassed because going to the groomer has always been such a stressful experience for my pup and despite him being a total lovebug, when he's scared he tends to resist letting strangers bathe him(let alone touch him) which in turn, makes them treat him as if my 25lb furball is a vicious beast. Once he was ready for pickup, I wasn't sure what to expect as my prior grooming experiences always ended up with me arriving and my dog looking like a terrified wreck. Instead, I walked in to find him comfortably sitting next to Sara at her desk up front. Not only was he groomed-to-perfection, but he looked as though he was happy-as-could-be! We will definitely be back for grooming and I can't wait to try out the daycare! read more

My little love Harley has been going to Ciao Bow Wow for a year, and she loves it there! When we walk up, her tail is wagging like crazy, and she's always scooped up and hugged by Sara right away. I know the team at Ciao Bow Wow is treating Harley with love and affection. They walk her home and follow all my drop off instructions, which I really appreciate. Only useful if you work 9-5 type job. They have nap time in the middle of the day and won't accept dogs during that time. Basically, you have to be on their schedule. Not the other way around. Huge disappointment. read more

I really love Ciao Bow Wow and so does my pup. When we walk over from the apartment he's so excited to go he's practically sprinting to get there. This also isn't normal for him. When he first started he was nervous and hesitant (which he is with all new things/adjustments). However after several stays he fell in love with the place and its bring us so much joy that he is excited to go to hang with his buddies and the staff. The staff are incredibly nice and seem to really enjoy their jobs. They're always excited when I drop my little guy off and he's just as excited to greet them. It makes us feel very comfortable leaving him there to play and hang out all day. I'd definitely recommend this for any in the surrounding areas who are looking for a caring daycare to send their pup to! read more

We're so lucky to have Ciao Bow Wow in our neighborhood! My mini poodle Bernie LOVES it there. The staff are so loving and attentive. Everyone that works there really loves animals, and it's clear the love is returned. They diffuse essential oils and play classical music...half the time I walk in, I want to stay and play myself ;) B always smells like lavender when she comes home. B is always STOKED to be there...she practically drags me the final block. B can't wait to see all her friends every day- both furry and human. And when she's back home, she's content and tired :) I also have to say that the complimentary EOD drop off is a game changer for us. It just makes everything so much more manageable with work schedules. Also! Love the built in lunch/nap time. When I started researching doggy daycare, I was SHOCKED by how many places charge extra for feeding your dog (like this is optional?), and don't have any rest option. Dogs need periodic sleep, which is sometimes compromised when they're overstimulated. It's just another reason that it's apparent CBW was created with dogs in mind. The last thing I want to gush about (and I could keep gushing) is that CBW also took extra care of B when she broke her leg. Her activity was severely restricted, so they created a play pen for her on the side of the room. Being near the other pups really helped to keep her mind alert and the round the clock human supervision was a lifesaver while I was at work. For that extra accommodation and care, I will forever be grateful. B is truly living her best life and in no small part to the top notch care she gets at CBW. Thank you!! read more

The owner is unbelievable! If you ever have a problem or an issue, buyer beware! My ex had an issue with Sara because she randomly charged her for two months worth of pickups and dropoffs although they told her it was free. Little did we know that it was free for one way! After this issue (which I tried to call a misunderstanding), Sara eventually changed her website to note one way only. Well, we broke up and I brought my dog back and I asked them to remove my ex (cause she was adamant I do not take him here cause of how rude Sara was and is). Lo and behold they sent my bill to my ex and she was extremely upset. I wrote an email to Ciao Bow Wow, "We were trying to be friends, but now she is really upset at me, which makes me very upset at you for sending it to her. Although the damage has been done, will you please make sure this does not happen again?" But rather apologizing for this error Sara wrote, "Please do not chastise my staff for an innocent clerical error." What?! No apology for ending a friendship? Are you really that stubborn? Are you really that insecure where you can't apologize for an honest mistake? How about, "I'm so sorry for this innocent clerical error, we will update our files so this does not happen again." but rather you have to reprimand me?!?! I think not! I never got that apology from Sara, but I did get an apology from the woman who sent the bill to my ex. She was v sweet and I understood, but Sara, the owner?!?! No, no, no, no. read more

After a lot of research when I moved 3 years ago, I chose CBW as the best option around, and I haven't been disappointed. The staff is very nice, loves the pups, takes good care of them, is responsive and communicates clearly. And between the flexible scheduling, one-way delivery service in the neighborhood, 'reasonable' pricing, grooming services when needed, and committed socialization for my pup during long days when he'd otherwise be at home all alone -- I can rest easy. While ideally the dogs would have more space and more outdoor/fresh air time too - as with the price - what more can we expect in NYC!? Definitely recommend. read more

Sara responded to my original review and this is my continued feedback: Sara the owner's response is a complete and utter lie. Not only was the owner defensive when she called and emailed me but she made incredibly shocking remarks about my ability to care for my dog...who I adore!!! I paid her even though I saw the issues with her nails because I am not an argumentative person. I have not asked for my money back or anything of the sort. I only wanted to inform her of my concerns and her response was shocking. My Yelp review is an attempt to honestly attempt to warn others that these services were incredibly awful. Please do yourself a favor and don't fall for Sara's lies- she has awful customer service and was beyond disrespectful. I love my dog and I would only want to know if this business was worthy and it truly is not. I hope that with the other dog groomers opening in the area, Sara shapes up or she gets put out of business. My original review: brought my dog lola to this establishment because I saw the great reviews. When I picked lola up from her grooming appointment she razor burns on her stomach which were bleeding and her nails were clipped so short that her paw was bleeding. I was shocked to see this given the price for the service. I was hoping to make the switch from petsmart, but I realize now that petsmart does a much better job. I felt so sorry for my dog that I put her through that experience. Won't be using this place again. Though the staff called me after I complained and sent pictures, they were pretty much anemic in their response. Extremely disappointed. read more

We have been daycare, grooming and boarding customers of Ciao Bow Wow for over a year now. We love this place and, more importantly, so does our little yorkie, Casey. We originally sent her to the Maiden Lane location but switched to the Brooklyn location when they set up shop close to our apartment. Yeah, we love them so much we were taking our dog on the subway from Brooklyn to FiDi every morning before they opened up in Brooklyn. Services: - we use the unlimited package here and couldn't be happier. They offer a number of different monthly packages as well - they offer pick up and drop off which is great when you have to stay late at work - they administer medication free of charge which is great because a lot of places in the area charge - their boarding program is great and offered only to daycare customers. We feel extremely comfortable leaving her with the Ciao Bow Wow crew - they offer grooming as well Environment: - the staff is friendly, they clearly enjoy their jobs and they truly love dogs - the owner is fantastic and is very responsive - they are small dog focused - location is convenient and opens early enough and closes late enough for most Facility: - clean and inviting - there is an outdoor area for the dogs as well - they have a vet right next door to their location Casey loves this place. When we walk over there every morning she knows exactly where she is going and couldn't be more excited to get there. She comes home tired and well exercised. We tried 3 other daycare providers in the brooklyn heights / cobble hill / boerum hill area but none of them really compare to Ciao Bow Wow. We are very happy we found this place and I highly recommend it. read more

I just took our little pooch here for a grooming, and they were amazing. Our dog is skittish around new people, and was clearly nervous when I first brought her in. Previous groomers would just strap our terrified dog to a table and get down to business. But here at Ciao Bow Wow, the groomer, Sara, sat down and interacted with our dog for over half an hour, and didn't start the grooming until she was sure our dog was totally comfortable with her. After the grooming, rather than keeping her in a crate until we arrived, she was allowed to play with the other dogs in the doggie day care section. Everything about this place is awesome, and you can tell that Sara has a special bond with every animal in her charge. I will definitely be going back. read more

I was so thrilled to discover Ciao Bow Wow in our neighborhood! Sara and her staff are the kindest people. It was so clear from the first moment I brought my dog in that everyone there truly loves dogs and really understands their behavior. My little guy was a bit nervous to go to a new place at first, but he came home exhausted and happy after his first day there, and it's been that way every since. In the mornings when we tell him he's going to go to "Ciao Bow Wow," our dog runs victory laps around the living room and then heads straight for the door. We now have to call it "CBW" all other times because whenever he hears "Ciao Bow Wow," his ears perk up and he heads for the door. We've gotten our little one groomed only a couple other times elsewhere and we've never been happy with the result. He doesn't like being brushed, so he can be a bit of a handful, and I was nervous about getting him groomed at Ciao Bow Wow. But Sara was incredibly patient and gentle with him, and when he came home, we were shocked by how bright and shiny and clean he looked. The facility is so welcoming and clean. Everyone on staff could not be nicer. It's just such a happy place, and I always feel so good dropping my little guy off there for a day of fun. Thank you, Ciao Bow Wow! read more

My dog goes to Ciao Bow Wow every week. He is slow to warm to new places, but has really grown to love the team here. He now runs to the door and "announces" his arrival. I take my dog to Ciao Bow Wow on a regular basis and it's such a relief to have them in the neighborhood. Khan is a small rescue dog and has issues with separation anxiety and the owner and staff take such great care of him- he pulls us right into the front door and I always know he is well taken care of. He is not the biggest fan of other dogs but the handlers there understand his personality and have really customized his time there to make him happy. Since he has been there, he's way cooler with other dogs now (has never been aggressive just not a fan of all dogs) and is happy and well cared for. I appreciate the level of personal attention he receives. I highly recommend this facility for smaller dogs. He's always gotten great grooms from them too. read more

Just the best. Hands down. Have been bringing our pup her for over a year and couldn't be happier. Sara and Jacqui and Jillian and everyone are as good as it gets--caring, responsible, kind, and patient. We board our pup here regularly and because he is so picky, Sara and co. even make sure he has his own water bowl (he won't share with the bigger pups, what a little prince!) Such a special team!
