Second visit here and food was excellent. Butternut squash ravioli was amazing. My son in law had the short ribs. My daughter likes the chicken. Service was impeccable. Also apple fritter dessert was spectacular.

Came here with my family who visited us for the weekend. We were tired of BBQ's at the house and wanted to enjoy a nice outing especially after the virus. I have to say I was really surprised how spacious the place was. We ate in the patio and the view was really nice. Our server was really friendly and attentive. Customer service from everyone was excellent. As you can see from the images, the food was great. Everything was tasty and everyone seemed happy with their experience.

Came here for their Tuesday to Thursday $19.95 complete dinner special (it comes with a side salad or soup, entree, & dessert). Their menu changes around and their signature dinners are served on Friday & Saturday. Goto their Facebook page to view their current menu. They do offer vegetarian entree choices. Rustic Cornwall style decor & friendly service. Foods were delicious & just the right portion. Limited seating so it is best to call for reservation. Free parking available in the back. Be advised they are closed on Sunday & Monday.

The setting is absolutely beautiful, relaxing, and full of character. Whether you're dining inside or enjoying the outdoor seating, the atmosphere is incredible. Honestly, I still can't decide which experience I like more because both are equally memorable. The ambiance deserves special recognition. The lighting is warm and inviting, creating the perfect mood whether you're on a date night, celebrating with friends, or simply enjoying a quiet dinner. The music is always spot-on--present enough to enhance the experience but never overwhelming. Together, the music, lighting, and surroundings create a feeling that's elegant, comfortable, and completely unique for the area. What makes Blue Heron so special is the menu. You can enjoy outstanding American cuisine or explore authentic Czech and Slovak dishes that are both comforting and exciting. It's the perfect balance of familiar favorites and unique offerings depending on what you're in the mood for. Every dish we've tried has been fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The service is impeccable. The staff is genuinely friendly, attentive, and welcoming without ever feeling intrusive. You can tell they take pride in making every guest feel appreciated. Their drink menu is equally impressive. Fantastic martinis, a great wine selection, and plenty of other cocktail options make it easy to find the perfect pairing for your meal. Blue Heron is one of those rare places that works for every occasion--a romantic date night, dinner with family, celebrations with friends, or even a relaxing evening when you simply want to enjoy excellent food in a beautiful setting. Outstanding food, exceptional service, amazing drinks, beautiful lighting, great music, and an atmosphere that feels like a true escape. Blue Heron isn't just a restaurant--it's an experience, and one of the very best dining destinations in Carmel.

It was a nice night so we sat outside and they really do have a nice patio by the lake. I started with an old fashioned that was very well made. Having looked online, I knew I wanted to try the short rib tacos and the fig, goat cheese and prosciutto flat bread. Both were very good and I probably could have stopped there because I was getting full. Definitely recommend those two appetizers. For my entree, I had the chicken schnitzel which came with potato salad. The schnitzel was fine. I enjoyed it but it's not something I would go out of my way to have again. I will say that the Czech-style potato salad was amazing. I would go out of my way to get more of that....hands down the best potato salad I've ever had. Service was friendly but a little scattered. I would have liked another drink but after our entrees were dropped, we couldn't get our waitress to come by and the food runner couldn't take a drink order. Again, nice service but just not polished. I think this is a place worth visiting. Definitely try some potato salad!

I don't think that we were able to finish everything, and we ended up taking some stuff home. However, it truly felt authentic and It felt real. We also paired that with some Albanian wine, which was delicious as well. it was a very homey location for people to come try some new food and have a hilarious and great time. I'd also be remiss if I don't call out that the bread that they gave was delicious, so light, so airy and that we were begging for more after the first round. They pair so well with the dips that we got and trust that I'll be back for more of that alongside the entire menu.

I love Turkish coffee and this was very good. The juice was tart and delicious. The breakfast platter was a showstopper. Two fried eggs, tomato, feta, two meat patties, and homemade bread. The flavors of the meat blew my mind. Who knew that Croatians make the most delicious burgers. This is a hearty and fantastic dish. Also, the burek was flaky and light and not very mini. Seating is first-come, first-served, and guests are placed based on availability, which keeps things fair and efficient even during busy times. The tables for two are intimate and cozy, perfect for conversation, though they can become a bit tight when ordering several dishes at once. That said, the staff was attentive and checked in often enough to clear plates and make room, which made the experience much more comfortable. The dessert menu is separate, allowing guests to enjoy their meal at an unhurried pace before deciding on something sweet. Their beverage offerings are thoughtfully presented. Herbal tea options include green tea, chamomile, and English tea (Stash), and the tea is served in a container that provides two full servings. The cappuccino is well made and served with a sugar crystal stick, adding a distinct old-world charm that enhances the café's European feel. I regret not asking for an additional order of Turkish coffee so that's a regret . What we ordered: * Greek Salad - $18.50 * Cappuccino - $6.80 * Herbal Tea - $6.00 * Uštipci - $17.25 * Musaka - $22.95 * Šnicla (Cutlet Sandwich) - $20.75 * 2 Diet Cokes - $8.00 The musaka is a baked dish and does take about 25 minutes to prepare, as it's made fresh with baked eggs, seasoned beef, and sliced potatoes layered on top. The wait is well worth it, resulting in a hearty, comforting dish that tastes authentically homemade. The Šnicla (cutlet sandwich) arrived beautifully presented on a wooden board, adding a rustic, elevated touch that matched the restaurant's aesthetic. Mom felt it lacked in seasoning but she Didnt leave any crumbs . The Uštipci were a standout--served with feta and honey, generously portioned, and so plentiful that we happily took some home. We were too full for dessert this time, but it's absolutely on the list for a return visit. Due to winter weather, we couldn't explore the back of the restaurant, but even from the main dining area, the decor is undeniably charming and full of character. Overall, Cafe Bubamara offers authentic flavors, generous portions, attentive service, and a cozy, old-world atmosphere that makes it a place worth revisiting.
