It is my daily Watering Hole after work. They have fantastic food the views or undescribable. All the crew are awesome. Eddie, Nate or Rose are behind the bar during the week, on the weekend you will be entertained by Sean the highlight to my day is when I get to see Lupta the beautiful caring waitress. This place is legit, hands down. No it's not only Mexican food cause of the name, it's both a dash of Mexican food, tavern type food, and California cuisine. Menu rotates and always a daily special with a new dish. Where else in this part of the Coachella Valley can you get a view of at least four mountain peaks (sometimes with snow, and some 35-60 miles away) all from your table next to a grass polo field (that is five times the size of a football field and stretches so far you literally have NOTHING blocking your absurdly perfect view). No where, you can't, just come here and I will regret saying this next busy season when it's crowded. Oh and they let you bring your dog if you sit outside, and your dog can literally run near a 1/2 mile in any direction on perfect grass. Your dog will likely command you to start coming here. Come on what's not to like! And this place is never crowded for most of the year. The menu keeps improving, tacos are all good, the turkey chili is fantastic, the entrees are all solid, and the whole vibe here is as desert, leisure, serene, relaxed, and unique as one can get! It's a little tricky to find, but you will be rewarded once you do. Nothing parallel to the setting here at all in the valley! The Cantina is the gift that keeps on giving from October through March every year, get in here before Coachella and Stagecoach come in April....and the restaurant closes because it becomes part of the festivals! Cheers to you and that view, bring a wet wipe to rub the grass off your lower lip after your jaw hits the floor once you step on that back patio.... where all the people sit that are doing it right. read more

Probably our 10th visit, at least. What I really appreciate is that for a place that is certainly more expensive they really deliver consistent, excellent service and food . We had a great meal tonight. Calamari, burrata salad, halibut special and Lenny's pasta. Just simply amazing food and ambiance. Javier did a great job. Many more visits to come. This is our new favorite neighborhood spot! One of our friends invited us to meet him here for dinner and sunset on Friday evening, and we had so much fun that we went back on Saturday for sunset and dinner. The staff is awesome, they are doing their best under less than idea circumstances with the on-going virus safety measures. The food is outstanding (get the korean short rib nachos for sure) and the views are just WOW!!! Prices are great considering the generous portions. Plenty of parking, but I do recommend making a reservation until things get back to normal (indoor dining would help!). We will be back often. read more

It's so nice to enjoy a meal and watch the sunset. Their cocktails are amazing, personally love the watermelon candy and Big stick. Didn't really go to eat but the food is good as well, only tried their Cali style nachos, Mediterranean plate and burger, all filling. The ambience is wonderful, most nights they have live performances. It's a hidden gem and I absolutely recommend dining outdoors during sunset (if weather permits, of course). Five stars because I was able to bring my well-behaved border collie mix into the bar. She sat on the floor between me and my husband as we enjoyed sitting on barstools and watching Thursday night football. Had some good mixed drinks and some beer for the husband, excellent burger and fries; too bad my team did not win the football game. Was a little difficult to find this place. So glad we persevered! They have plenty of outdoor seating as well. The waitress was lovely and the bartender was helpful. We will return. read more

Thanks to Yelp, found this place. Was a little skeptical when driving in as it's in a Polo club. Wasn't sure what to expect. Boy was I surprised. Our waiter, Ivory (3rd day working there) was nothing short of amazing. Super friendly and attentive. I ordered the short rib nachos, DELICIOUS!! My boyfriend had the Classic cheeseburger and he enjoyed his meal as well. Definitely try this place if you're ever in Indio. read more

An amazing view for a mediocre lunch. The lunch menu options are quite limited. There was a page of appetizers and a page of entrees. Other items were only available for breakfast or dinner. The Shrimp Cocktail was bland. It was served on a sad bed of lettuce with a side of cocktail sauce. My husband ordered the Turkey Chili, which he enjoyed. The Crab and Cheese dip was excellent but had a confusing green tint. Guacamole and Mediterranean Plate appetizers were decent. read more

I am absolutely floored with this restaurant!!! GREAT FOOD AND AMAZING SERVICE!!! We came here for a bachelorette celebration dinner and was not disappointed. Our server, Raul is one of the most amazing humans to ever walk this earth, I kid you not. After handling our large party of 15 with nothing but attention and efficiency, he walked us around the Cochlea fair grounds and took pictures of all of us. Raul was so friendly, I want him to cater every event that I have. The food is fairly priced and delicious. I will definitely be returning!! read more

We came on a Saturday and watched a polo match. The staff was super busy and they were having a hard time keeping up. But they were in such a positive frame of mind and very accommodating. All of the things I have tried have been good. The Korean short rib nachos are so killer and decadent . One of the very best treats I have had in the desert anywhere. I will be back. Indio's best kept secret! I come here almost weekly from November thru March and you cant get a better view or meal anywhere in indio / La quinta area! Their menu is awesome from the hummus plate which is huge! All the food is totally fresh! The calamari is really good, the salmon salad is delicious..even the fries! It's super busy on weekends for the polo matches but during the week you can walk right in anytime of day and get a patio table! You've got to try this place out, you cant go wrong!!!! Its perfect for a casual lunch, work meetings and kid friendly also. read more

Yesterday was my first time at The Cantina. I was very impressed with the casual ambiance. The view at sun down, good food, entertainment and great staff. David served us and was very attentive and friendly. We were first greeted by Jeff who is the Manager. He was so friendly and warm and checked on us often. We entered the place and it was seat yourself so we did. No one approached us at all for awhile to place an order etc. so I went over to the bar and ordered two drinks. Asked for specific gin (Beefeaters) bartender had no idea if he had that brand (really!?). He did, so provide the drinks. My wife thought it was weak and asked for a little shot of gin to make it taste right. Again no service went over to the bar again to request an appetizer. By then needed another drink and reminded the bartender to make sure it was a full pour of alcohol. Ordered the taco Tuesday special for the night and after ordering was told that they didn't have any beef only pork and chicken. Went with it even thou we would have liked the beef. Order the third drink. In short besides the poor service and lack of product to fulfill orders the bar bill was double what it should have been. Bartenders decided a good pour is a double and charged us $24 per drink- unbelievable! Bartender offered no resolution so we took it upon ourselves to find a supervisor. I will say that in the end the supervisor did the right thing and cut the charges for drinks back to a single drink charge each vs double the price and albeit still a whether high cost for drinks in my opinion and what we are use to paying in the valley. I would not recommend this place. Poor service, inattentive and priced to high for the product provided. Plus not all that sanitary. Very unfortunate! read more

This used to be our go-to place for a casual lunch, to eat outside and enjoy the view. The change in ownership was not for the better. The menu is completely changed and very limited. Lunch offers four salads, four sandwiches, and tacos. Dinner offers five entrees. No wonder they don't publish their menu online anywhere. If I had seen it, I wouldn't have gone. Our food arrived cold and not as ordered. Yes, the kitchen may have messed up the order, but the server neglected to check it before delivering and running. My chicken sandwich, ordered without the shredded lettuce, came with lettuce. The chicken had obviously been cooked at an earlier time and reheated, but was cold again when it was served. My extra crispy fries were limp and cold. My husband had the tacos and the tortillas didn't even permit them to be picked up without falling apart. The server did bring some new fries. They were not crispy either, but at least they were hot. All in all, a very disappointing experience we will not be repeating. Go to the Tack Room next door instead. Doesn't have the view, but the food is infinitely better! read more
