We had a reservation here last Tuesday to try their "Restaurant Week" menu. We pulled into the parking lot a few minutes before reservation and there were only two cars in the parking lot so we drove around the back thinking that's where we're supposed to park but no cars there either and we were a bit confused. When we pulled back around to the front, there were some yellow pylons near the front of the entrance and some garbage on one of the outdoor tables and it looked very dark inside as if the lights were off, we figured they had to have been closed so we drove off to have dinner elsewhere. A bit later, we get a notice from OpenTable that we did not check in so I called the restaurant the following day to ask them what happened, the nice young lady that answered the phone told us that they were open at the time of our reservation. If they were indeed open, what a turn off to have only two cars in the parking lot, pylons in front and trash stacked on the outdoor table, I can't imagine what the inside would look like or the kitchen. read more

Attn. vegans and anyone who has dietary restrictions: AVOID THIS PLACE! Even if you ask for a vegan version of a menu item, they'll give you the non-vegan version. And they'll make that mistake with both your appetizer and entree. If you're lucky and they don't mess up your order, it will be void of flavor. Just go anywhere else. This was our first visit to the Indio location. This place definitely carries more swank and space than their old setup. They also have a full bar now, so there are many more options for libations while you eat. We arrived right on time for our 6PM reservation and we were seated at the outdoor table we pined for. The weather and the setting definitely started this dinner with a positive outlook. We were a party of five, with three of us ordering different Taco alternatives. I requested the Shrimp, my wife asked for the Salmon and our daughter selected Filet Mignon. The flavor of all the Tacos was out of this world, as the ingredients and the sauces involved within those corn tortillas meshed together magically. I will say that paying $20 for two small tacos that weren't PACKED was a little bit of a RIP. The other two guests in our party went for two different types of Pizza. They both boxed a slice or two to take home. As sides, we had two orders of Truffle Fries and one of the Brussel Sprouts. Both were phenomenal but the veggies could have been more plentiful. To go with our dinners, my wife and I brought our own Meadowcroft GSM that generated two surprises for us. One was how great it accompanied what we ingested, the other was the $30 corkage on the bill. To round out the night out, my daughter shared a Sundae-Sundae with the other guests. Being able to get out to see new restaurants once a month is a gift, and most of what we experienced was a HUGE thumbs up. It was our anniversary, but we were both coming off a long workday and running on fumes. We decided to keep it simple with a light dinner and stopped in here. They've got a solid small-plate selection, so we grabbed a few things. They were pretty busy and clearly short-staffed, so it took a minute to get acknowledged. Our hostess was juggling serving duties and running around like a busy bee. Once she made it back up front, we were seated right away. Our server was Matisse (which immediately had me wondering if her parents are art lovers). We ordered: - Sliders - Deviled eggs - Meatballs - Truffle fries The sliders came as two mini burgers. Hubby said they were really good. The crispy meatballs... honestly, pretty forgettable. The deviled eggs were tasty, and the pickled onions plus microgreens gave them a nice pop. And the truffle fries? Listen. I absolutely went in on those. No shame. I landed on 3 stars for two reasons. First, I specifically came for the poke nachos, and they were out. Huge disappointment. I pivoted to the meatballs, which only made me miss the poke nachos more. Second, the service was delayed - not because anyone was slacking, but because our server was literally doing everything: bartending, taking orders, running food, bussing tables. The teamwork was impressive, but it still meant the service felt a bit stretched thin. That said, both our server and the hostess were great whenever they made it to our table. I'm chalking this up as an off night. I'll definitely be back to finally get those poke nachos. Even though our first visit wasn't perfect, I still recommend giving this place a try. read more

During the middle of a long road trip we were craving something much finer than rest stop snacks. We came across Cork & Fork on YELP which happened to be in our pathway. The restaurant was very small and the tables were a little tight-squeezed for my taste; especially after a long road trip. Yikes #1. Definitely not the best pick but we were there and we were hungry! The staff were very friendly and we were sat down right away at a tiny table near the restrooms. Yikes #2. Nonetheless our kind server arrived with a smile. We discussed some popular items on the menu and made our order. We began with a Blue Cheese and Apples salad and the Edamame Dumplings. Both appetizers were tasty and fresh. Next came the Filet Tacos and Salmon plate. The tacos were good but the filet was well-done, not my husband's favorite. Yikes #3. I enjoyed the Salmon and potatoes. The dish was seasoned well but I would have preferred more of the butter sauce. The potatoes were very tasty but more sauce would have made it less dry and more enjoyable. We finished with the Bread Pudding for dessert. It was very good and easily our favorite part of the meal. Overall, we had a nice meal in tight quarters. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but our experience at Cork & Fork in Indio was genuinely unacceptable for a paid group dinner. We were a party of 12 celebrating a bachelorette weekend and chose this restaurant specifically for its advertised upscale atmosphere and its ability to accommodate vegan and dairy-free dietary needs. Unfortunately, what we experienced was disorganized service, inconsistent food execution, and repeated failures in basic hospitality. From the start, the experience felt chaotic. We were seated in a high-traffic area directly beside the kitchen door, which led to constant disruption. Service was disjointed, with dishes arriving at very different times and clear breakdowns in coordination between staff and kitchen. Food quality was inconsistent across the table, with several entrées (including salmon) arriving dry and underwhelming. One pizza arrived completely raw in the center and had to be remade while the rest of the table had already finished eating. The most serious issues involved vegan and dairy-free accommodations. One guest initially received a salad prepared incorrectly with cheese despite requesting otherwise. Another vegan entrée was significantly delayed, and after ordering a vegan pizza, we were informed only afterward that the restaurant had run out of vegan cheese. The guest attempted to make a reasonable accommodation based on ingredient review, but the final dish still arrived poorly executed. Throughout this, the bride -- who has a documented severe dairy sensitivity -- was seated nearby and became increasingly distressed by the inconsistencies in how dairy and vegan items were being handled. During the meal, staff approached her directly and relayed comments about another guest's frustration in a way that felt unprofessional and inappropriate during a celebratory dinner. After the dinner, the bride became severely ill, to the point where medical care was nearly sought. Given her sensitivity and the inconsistencies with vegan/dairy items throughout the evening, this raised additional concerns about how her meal was handled. We raised concerns calmly and directly during the meal and followed up with ownership multiple times afterward. We received no response at all. For a restaurant positioning itself as upscale and accommodating, the lack of basic execution, poor handling of dietary needs, and complete absence of follow-up was extremely disappointing. This was not an "off night" -- it was a fundamentally disorganized experience from start to finish. read more

I just came back from Happy Hour with Co-workers at Cork and Fork. Nice ambiance, Full bar and good food! Palomita Blanco: 4 stars Libuelula Tequla, grapefruit, lime, agave nectar, cava, tajin. Good cocktail, nice and bitter. The cava makes this libation fizzy and I enjoy a good bitter drink. This drink was stronger than I expected and right up my alley. 4 stars means this was good, but not delicious - this being said, I would order this drink again. Thai Shrimp Cakes: 5 stars Nice portion of shrimp cakes that are perfectly fried. mildly spicy aioli and a sweet soy/sesame sauce with lime wedges. Very good! Perfect amount to soak up the booze. (Crispy) Brussel Sprouts: 5 stars! Crispy brussel sprouts with paprika aioli, cabernet-stewed onions with bacon and cheese. Delicious. (We ate them before we were able to take a pic). Pink Flamingo Deviled eggs: 3 stars These were fine. I prefer my deviled eggs with more classic ingredients and I feel like these deviled eggs tried too hard. (Pickled jalapeno, bacon, chive oil, marinated pink onions). The green chive oil was very good, but the deviled eggs were lost in translation. Service: 5 stars Competent, courteous staff who had the utmost patient as the six of us tried to split the bill and pay our own way. My wife and I were eating dinner after a long day and I was watching a presentation on my phone no louder than their music they had playing in your ear. The owner sitting next to us asked my wife to turn off or lower our phone. Now keep in mind she is sitting there with two glasses of wine in front of her working and drinking lol. Really no sense of customer service. We go there just to relax and sit at the bar and that pretty much ruined it for us. I wont be coming back to this establishment. I guess I will save money the 20 dollar watermelon salad is two 5 inch pieces of watermelon and the dates are 5 small dates for 24 dollars. Parking was plentiful at this spot, leading to a colorful and welcoming interior, not to mention the appealing outdoor seating. With such perfect weather, we naturally chose to bask in the sunshine outside. The service was prompt and attentive. We initially ordered the sourdough bread, but were a little disappointed to find it was already sold out. Thankfully, the Breakfast Croissant Sandwich was a true highlight! The generous thick-cut bacon, wonderfully moist and fluffy eggs, smooth avocado, and a zesty chipotle sauce created a truly delicious bite. The Short Rib Hash was enjoyable, though we thought it could benefit from a bolder flavor profile. Overall, this is a place I'd recommend checking out. Really disappointing experience. Service was slow from the moment we sat down, and the restaurant seemed completely unprepared for the night. A major item on the menu, pizza, was already unavailable, which was surprising considering how central it is to what they serve. The food that did come out was underwhelming. The salad had strange clumps of cheese at the bottom and the dumplings were nothing special. The biggest issue was the main course. After waiting about 40 minutes, we were told the chicken entrée we ordered couldn't be made due to a kitchen problem and were asked to order something else. By that point we had already spent close to an hour there and still didn't have a proper meal. There was little urgency to fix the situation and no real effort to make the experience right. Overall it felt like a waste of time. Between the disorganization, the mediocre food, and the lack of accountability, it's hard to recommend. read more

As my first time dining at this restaurant I must say that upon entry I was very impressed by the design and decor, I was having an early Birthday dinner and wanted to sit close to the bar, the drinks my friend and had where yummy and the music was a vibe! The service was great with our waitress explaining what dishes were a hit. My only regret was that I didn't check out any of the other options for seating. This beautiful restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. It is located in a very nice shopping center with lots of great eateries. I made a reservation, but my husband and I chose to sit at the bar. The bartenders were very nice. The restaurant is the perfect place for a romantic dinner. We enjoyed the live music and lively ambiance. The food was fantastic. We shared the Margherita pizza, Bianca pizza, and panzanella salad. The pizzas were each full of flavor and cooked to perfection. What really stole the show was the panzanella. We are huge fans of this type of salad, and will order it any time we see it on a menu. This one was out of this world, especially with the filet tips. So delicious! First time here for date night and was pretty good! I think they were short staffed since we weren't greeted until twenty minutes later, when our sweet server came and took care of us. Amazing place for Thai Shrimp Cakes: they are SCRUMPTIOUS. The banana bread pudding was delicious even as someone that doesn't like sweets that much. I tried Mike's Pizza but it was soggy and undercooked unfortunately. The Prosciutto and Bread was not bad either and I'm glad our server gave us another plate of bread to make up for the burnt ones. Ahi Nachos were pretty good too, and I appreciated it actually being a little spicy. Mango No-jito was also super yummy for a zero proof drink! Came here with a small group of friends (4 of us). The place looks nice so we were excited to try it. The server made a comment about one of my friends looking very different from her ID (since we were all dressed and made up) which just felt odd and uncalled for. Drinks took a while and the food took even longer. Two of us got food first and it took around 15 more minutes for the other two dishes to come. The salad that was ordered was made incorrectly and when it was remade they forgot the chicken - when we let our server know they just brought out a side of chicken on a small plate instead of on the salad! Part of the dinner experience is having a nice plate presentation, so it just felt like there was no effort on that part. I did notice some drinks have egg white as an ingredient and I could definitely taste and smell it on my espresso martini drink. I had the birria tacos which made me sick later that night - I emailed them about my experience but never heard back so I figured I could share my experience a month later. Last but not least, my friend's pizza had a piece of aluminum foil. Thankfully she wasn't charged for it after we pointed it out. read more

Everything I had was very good. Looking for a lighter fare of food, this spot is perfect and yummy cocktails. I had the Farmers salad, and it was light and crisp. The salmon tacos were very flavorful. I had the material Girl Cocktail, and it was not only delicious, it had a very nice presentation garnished with a lemon slice and dehydrated flowers. All the flavors were very well balanced and nothing too overpowering. I finished off with blueberry lemon tart, and it was the perfect way to end the meal. Others in my party ordered the sweet potato soup, the steak tacos, Brussel sprouts, and cauliflower. All was very good. The sprouts and cauliflower had the perfect amount of crisp and lightly flavored sauce drissled over them. They had live music very well done, the volume was nice, and we were still able to hear each other talk. It was a nice added touch to the ambiance. Comfortable seating indoor outdoor and warming patio heaters. Everything was very well done. When I am back in this area, I will be returning to this restaurant. read more

Really it's a 4.5! Very spontaneously decided to book here for a birthday dinner with the folks. We're recently local and this spot was about 10 mins away- so we were hoping it would be good. Very cute atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonable prices. We had 2 young kids with us and they got them their food asap! Which is always a big help. I had the short rib ravioli yum! We tried the sliders, the fried cauliflower, the burrata and prosciutto, the branzino, the fish tacos, the wild salmon and some desserts. Everything was exceptionally tasty. MENU: It is a little complicated as most dishes are not standard Cali-a-fare but the food is. Shrimp Cakes, OMG get me the hell away from those things they are awesome. FOOD PREP: Very professionally done with intent, no line cook here. FOOD QUALITY: Excellent, Beef Filet Tacos were a great changeup as was the espresso rubbed pork tenderloin. LIBATIONS: A bit on the $$$$ but you got to keep the doors open. Overall it balances out. WAITSTAFF: Perfect Service ! looked like training was happening this evening but absolutely everyone was kind, nice, and getting in the holiday spirt. To me customers being nice back is important, jerk customers makes for grumpy waitstaff, don't be a jerk. OVERALL VALUE: Very Good, we've dined here serval times, good happy hour, and a fun place just to hang out. It was fun having a group of four so we could try more small plates. We ended up getting 6 plates and a dessert. We started with the brussel sprouts and bruschetta. Sprouts were a bit too crispy and dry. Bruschetta was excellent. A fav for the table. Next were sliders. We got two plates of sliders so each person could get one. Those were all a table fav. So juicy that my first bite dropped down my hand. So good. Next were beef and shrimp tacos. With four people we split both sets of tacos so we all could try. The shrimp won out as the fav. First, I feel for everyone working there. They were all lovely and did their best. However, the menu is dated, the food took forever, arrived cold, and wouldn't have been great if it was the right temperature. I think the managers allowed one poor woman to service the entire outside, including bussing the tables! Not great management. Benefit of the doubt... maybe it was an off night? Took some friends on a Saturday night. This was our first time at this location. Let me start by saying, not the same place... it's now mostly a taco and pizza joint. The food just ok. Staff was nice, but the real issue was. 1. Small cheap chairs and tables. Very uncomfortable for an adult to sit in. 2. Bad lighting and mix between bright white and warm... 3. Bad layout, either eat by the restroom doors or the kitchen door was our option. Everytime the kitchen door swung open it was like the sun blasting you in the face. 4. Last call for food at 8:15pm (WTF), it was a Saturday night. We only had appetizers and shared a pizza. So we did not get to order any other food let alone a desert unless we wanted to rush. 5. To make it worst, the staff closed half the place, turned off the lights and started cleaning up and taking out trash... if that was not a sign that they wanted you gone... it was only 8:40pm at this point... we got the hint and asked for the check. So we'll got a total of one rounds of drink before the bar shut down, some appetizers and shared pizza before leaving. This is bad management and if this continues I don't see this place sticking around. I think most of the good reviews are from the old location / menu... I hope they fix this, but we will not be back. read more

Now I'm not a big Tappas guy as I feel you don't get what you pay for with big prices and small plates. So when my wife said "we're going to Cork and Fork" I wasn't expecting much. My first impressions walking in was wow, this place is cool. The tables, lighting to the bar itself the ambiance was very upscale and from the moment we walked in for our 6:00 reservation we greeted nicely and sat down immediately. Our waitress came over and introduced herself to us and off we went. She told us about the place and how to order and we started with a Vodka tonic and a local beer plus Ahi nachos and pot stickers. The food was amazing and plentiful plus the sauces were delicious. We added another round of drinks and a sausage pizza and were total stuffed. The complete meal took around 75 minutes and our bill with a 20% tip was under $100. Don't tell my wife but she was spot on with Cork and Fork. We'll definitely be going back to try some other dishes. read more

We wanted a place close to where we are staying -so checked out their new location. We visited on Thursday- Thirty Thursday so we were able to talk advantage of the drink deal of $3 off cocktails. Both drinks were really good. We moved onto the watermelon salad and date plate, which were pretty good. I am not sure I am a fan of warm watermelon, but interesting to try and the chive oil and balsamic helped. the dates were pretty standard. We had lounged by the pool all day, so got to dinner around 7:30, but online the hours were posted to 9pm, but at 8pm the bartender told us the kitchen was closing and the online hours were incorrect. So we felt a little rushed to pick our entree. We had the gumbo for our main course, which was decent- nothing to write home about, but okay. The bartender, who also served us our food was really great. She let us try several wines and made good suggestions. I think Cork & Fork is worth a visit when in the area, but not something worth driving for. read more

Amazing small plate menu. Every dish (date and cheese starter, beef sliders, veggie won ton, crispy cauliflower bites, and crispy meatballs) was unique and delicious. My guests were thrilled.
