    Vanilla cinnamon roll

I'm excited to review this little bakery and say how sweet it is (pun intended)! I did some volunteer work at the Theatricum Botanicum this morning and as I pulled in, I saw a little chalkboard sign for the bakery that said on Sundays it was open from "9:30 til the last crumb"! NOTE: The hours are limited, only Friday advance orders or Sunday first come, first serve. The atmosphere in this space is so green and beautiful, I was just finishing my work and ordered something to go, but if I wasn't heading somewhere I would've stayed and ate at a table to enjoy the space. The menu was written in for what was offered that day, as well as some examples were on the counter in little glass cloches and the beautiful cinnamon roll caught my eye. Prices are a little higher, but everything is made with love, so fresh, and I spoke with the baker and man with the hat helping with orders and you can tell the craftsmanship that goes into these baked goods. Try it on a Sunday or Friday pickup sometime!

The location is so cute, the friendly local set up and staff is everything you need on a Sunday morning and the line up of treats are STUNNING. So many delicious options to choose from but get there early or your favorite may already be gone, you snooze you lose.

Went back two weeks in a row. Yup. Still amazing!!! The menu changes but the deliciousness remains. The spinach and marzipan cruffin smelled so good and was a buttery, savory, scrumptious treat! The vanilla cinnamon bun didn't skimp on cinnamon goodness and is unusual because it's made with the hearty dough. The potato tart with salad was so delicious too. The salad dressing is magical - light, flavorful and surprisingly tasty.

I love this bakery. I adore the owners. They are great people. The bread and pastries are baked fresh daily and super yummy. I had one of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had. I'll be back again and again!

Excellent artisanal bakery. Highly recommended. You may want to call or e-mail first to confirm your order.

I now know definitively where to find it. They've also added the most incredible soft serve ice cream to their offerings. I also spotted that they now serve prosciutto which I was unaware of in the past and they have what appeared to be some delicious looking Caesar salads premade for about $15. I'm currently completely addicted to this amazing peanut nougat chocolate that they have. It's $5.50 a pop so as my original review states this place is Not exactly the $.99 cent only store but it's amazing selection of goods shows the purveyors attention to selection. They're keen on what they bring into the store and it shows. I've had a few bottles of wine from here. They were all yummy. I've yet to try any of their cheese, but it looks fantastic. As I go, I spend more and more time cruising what they have- they always have fine looking produce and I know occasionally they carry chanterelles. I do hope to scoop up some of those on a future visit (in season only of course). It does seem they really honor the seasonal pallet of things and from what I can tell most of their produce is local. They've also added a really lovely outdoor patio. All in all I'm very grateful this place in the canyon. They've saved me on a number of occasions when no dinner recipes came quickly to mind or when a soup hankering struck!

However, after I ordered it online to pick it up a couple of hours later at this lovely store, Veronica from this store called me to let me know that just while my transaction was going through, a customer in their store had purchased a slice from the last remaining cheesecake, which incidentally I had managed to order online. So, I decided to go with her recommendation of another cake instead. But, she was so sweet, she gave me a slice of cheesecake gratis, since she remembered my friend, the birthday boy, loves cheesecakes. Also, I was able to buy a single candle from this store as well. I'm all set for the surprise!

I decided to roll right in not expecting mind you to meet Lady Jane, so I cannot opine if she is sweet or sour, so this review is relegated to the gluten free desserts since I am celiac. Those of you who have stopped, I understand, but you should know that not so long in the future wheateaters will be sectioned of in an area with garbage cans lit with fire with some people smoking cigarettes while other furtively eat finger sandwiches. But I digress. I was shown by the very nice counter person the GF offerings and when I asked her which she thought was best, I was directed to a cookie (Gluten-Free Chocolate Walnut Cookie) of all things which when coupled with a very nice latte proved that the Stones were correct in their assessment of this Sweet Lady.

Go down south on Topanga Blvd, pass 101 and you are driving in a different space. The two lane road one way, becomes one lane, with many windy turns. As you drive on, to a progressive higher altitude, the fresh air, the greenery, the view below, engulfs your senses. What a beautiful ride, till you arrive at TLC. I was there on a weekday (by design), to avoid the crowds and because parking is very limited, if you wish to be close to the establishment. Walking in, there is a small space of an ordering counter (with a display of some foods), some on the menu, some not. A few merch racks and some indoor tables. You can also sit outside, under umbrellas, for a more airy feel. Many come here for the tranquility, several of them with their laptops. While I was aware before arriving what the limited menu entailed, I was attracted, amongst other selections, by the optics of the Tomato Frittata and Cucumber Salad, in the food case. And that is what I ordered. Since the Frittata comes with a house salad, it was a reasonable $2 extra to substitute for the cucumber salad. The Tomato Frittata was warmed up and served to my outside table. It was fluffy, fresh, having distinct texture and tongue slide, to highlight the tastes of egg, cheese and tomato. Nice ingredient arrangement all around. Same for the cucumber salad. What I liked here was no overdose of citrus (as you so often taste in other places). A harmonious balance of simple nature ingredients, that take care of the flavor, and take you to a place to remember. The cucumber was well diced, colorful, bold, crunchy and nourishing, with every bite. Overall, a satisfying experience, and an impressive weekday brunch visit for me, in the stunning and magnetic hilltops of Topanga.

The coffee was good -- I'd say around a 4 out of 5 -- and the pastries were fresh and . The overall atmosphere was pleasant and felt more inviting. That said, there are still a few areas for improvement. The space is a bit limited, and there aren't many outdoor seating options, which would be nice given the location. The interior could also use some updates, as parts of it feel a bit worn. Overall, this location left a much better impression.
