Dipping sauce or marinade is not needed. It is spicy enough on its own. The jumbo lump crabmeat is also a must. A huge bowl of huge chunks of tender chilled crabmeat. 4 of us split a wedge salad. I want to start by saying I've had wonderful experiences at other Capital Grille locations. I understand that it's Christmas Eve and very busy but for the price point this service was not acceptable. The lobby was so busy at this location we could barely enter the establishment. We did arrive a half hour early and did not expect to be seated early, however, after more than 15 minuets past our reservation time we decided to sit at the bar, since there were 2 empty seats, instead of waiting for the table. I ordered a lemon drop martini and my wife ordered a jack and Coke. Both drinks were good but we finished them before we could catch the attention of the bartender to put in apps. When we finally got their attention we ordered another round of drinks, the calamari and a butternut squash soup. The apps came out fairly fast. The calamari was ok, it did not come with any dipping sauce, it was pretty dry. The butternut squash soup was inedible, terrible texture, super grainy. When we got the bartenders attention we told her the soup was inedible, she acknowledge our concerns and cleared our plates. The bartender spent so long spending time at the other end of the bar talking to all the older patrons that my wife said we should just go to Applebees. When she finally got back to us we input our order, strip steak au poivre with courvoisier sauce (medium well), roasted chicken breast, spinach, and mashed potatoes. Again the food came out fairly fast. The steak was so over cooked that when I cut it the plate was moving all over the bar. The sauce was delicious and if cooked correctly the steak would have been amazing. The chicken was was cooked fine but tasted like the grill top it was cooked on. It was supposed to be served over risotto but the "risotto" was hard and sitting in a puddle of broth? I thought the spinach was too salty but my wife said it was good. The best thing of the night and savior of the whole meal was the mashed potatoes. Whoever made the mashed potatoes loves potatoes. They were great. When we got the check it came to almost $300 and they didn't even take that terrible soup off. Fine, we ordered it, we didn't like it, but after everything else, besides the mashed potatoes, including the service being below average the least they could have done was taken off the soup. Also for a restaurant with a posted dress code it was unacceptable to allow people to come in with pajamas. As always the food was delicious. Service was excellent. Atmosphere delightful and beautiful. My only complaint was that we had a reservation at 6pm (checked in minutes prior) and we stood in waiting area amongst many others for over 45 mins and still didn't get our table. It wasn't until I complained almost an hour later that we got seated. We were given a complimentary appetizer for the inconvenience and they did apologize and provide excellent service there on out. However my feet are still hurting the next day from standing in heels waiting for a reserved table an hour after my scheduled time. It was a special occasion and I understand a little bit over but not nearly an hour. Unacceptable. Just got home from taking my husband out for his birthday/Father's Day. Our server Tamara was awesome. Very friendly and helpful. We didn't know they only serve from their dinner menu on Sundays but she talked with the chef about making the lunch salad that I wanted. The lobster bisque there is always incredible and so full of lobster. My husband enjoyed his filet. We enjoyed our lunch. I would have told the manager but somehow he skipped coming to our tablez or maybe he just checked in with people he knows. Dining there is expensive but it's a treat that's worth it read more

Yes it's a chain but I find the capital grill to be one of the better steak houses around. Fabulous appetizers the calamari not pictured was soft and tendered perfectly cooked. The tuna was cold, fresh with just the amount of heat from the sauce. I'm a filet girl, it's so soft that you can cut it with a butter knife. I don't care what anyone says it is also very flavorful especially with the crisp grilled outside and medium rare inside. Add the truffle fries and I'm in my happy place. read more

Outstanding! I dined with my two daughters early on a Sunday evening after shopping at the mall. We enjoy Capital Grille for special occasions and have always had a good experience. Our visit this time was exceptional. We were seated promptly and our server, Mary, an absolute star, quickly greeted us and got us set up with water and bread. We ordered drinks- a dirty martini, a chocolate martini and an "in" fashion-all excellent. We decided to have various starters including the clam chowder, the blue cheese wedge and the beet salad, all very good. For mains we each had a filet, and we shared sides of au gratin potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms. The steaks were excellent and everything was on time and on temperature. But where the experience was elevated was in Mary's charming, attentive and fun service, but most importantly in her handling of my daughter's fish allergy. My daughter knows how to navigate a menu and to ask questions to make sure fish isn't used in certain dishes (you'd be amazed where fish sauce can sneak into a meal, for example in Worcestershire sauce, Caesar dressings, deep fryers, etc.), and she did so with Mary. Mary was great at listening and checking everything with the chef to make sure it was safe. My daughter did not ask to have a fish allergy, and she handles it well, but often at restaurants she can be made to feel that accommodating her is a big problem. But that was not the case here at all. Mary made my daughter feel special, and cared for, not an annoyance. The chef, unprompted by us, even went so far as to prepare a safe version of the bernaise sauce especially for my daughter. I much appreciated this level of care. We also had red wine and finished by sharing a coconut cream pie. All in all a delightful meal. Highest recommendation. read more

Reservations were made for Valentine's Day dinner, wait time upon arrival was about 15minutes and it was very busy as they began trying people away without reservations. All couples were provided a rose when seated (I unfortunately didn't receive this treatment). My date asked for a rose and then gave us rolls () so he decided to get up and grab one for me. The calamari was LIGHTY breaded and fried, a little too light for my liking. Some pieces weren't fired at all. What's dinner without the sides? We both ordered the Dry Age NT strip steak with the au gratin potatoes, lobster Mac n cheese , Brussel sprouts, and truffle fries . I would pass on the truffle fries but all other sides were delicious. On to the drinks, the mango royale packed a punch and the passion fruit mojito was tasty. Too full for dessert this go round. Back here for the first time in years, for my birthday dinner. On the drive home, the Misses says: "...that place is overrated." I was like, "I think they're overPRICED, not necessarily overrated," but then I thought about it: They are overpriced because they aren't worth what they are charging, so I guess she's right. There were some good things, some not so good things. Good: - It's still a swanky little affair. Beautiful setting, crisp professional service. - The steak is very good - The drinks are good, and reasonably priced - Nice variety of bread for the table - "Complimentary" valet is nice, as it's PACKED at the mall at all times. Not So Good: - It's damned expensive, but you knew that already. - Sides were more than a little disappointing. We got au gratin potatoes and creamed spinach, and both were underseasoned and underwhelming. - flourless chocolate cake is like a hockey puck of dark chocolate - Waiting for our table to be ready was annoying. There were people waiting everywhere, and there was no where to stand. We had to go to the hallway as the reception area was just PACKED with people milling about. I can't speak to the price, as it was my birthday dinner, and I was being treated, but I know my NY Strip, which WAS great by the way, was over $50 itself. Two sides at around $15 a piece, two drinks about the same, a $30 crab cake appetizer (that says it "feeds 2," which it does NOT), a cup of soup, a dessert plate, tax and tip.....I'd assume we were close to $200. It's not going to blow you away, but it's a nice little dinner if you've got some money to spend. read more

We ordered steaks, filet mignon and sliced filet with mushrooms and whipped potatoes and creamed corn for our sides. We have always been pleased with our experience here in the past. Went here this past Sunday to celebrate our nephew's birthday. I found the manager to be pompous. We were refused seating because we had one more person than was on the reservation in the dining room and led off to the lounge. Waitress wasn't informed that it was a birthday. I have never received such shotty treatment in a Capital Grille and I have been to many. I was seated on a barstool and at the age of 79 it hurt my back and hip. I give this manager a one in rating. I normally love the food and service here and have written good reviews before. However, I ordered a steak medium rare and it came it raw (entire center red and cool). I asked for it to be cooked just slightly longer to medium rare and it was returned as well done. I tried it and couldn't get past one bite. Flavorless. No apologies. I didn't want to cause any issue but the server just took it away and didn't say anything and I paid full steak price for the bread and butter. Guess I learned my lesson that I need to speak up (again) but I expected better from one of my favs. read more

This was our first time visiting Capital Grille and man did it live up to its reputation. The 2 lion statues outside reminded me of PF Changs. Great backdrop for pictures. We had an 8 pm reservation for Saturday, but there was about a 20-minute wait because it seemed like they were backed up and we were told everyone waiting had a reservation. We ventured over to the bar area which was beautifully formed with bar, lounge, and counter-type seating. For drinks, my girlfriend asked to recreate a Bourbon drink she had in NYC, and according to her, they nailed it. The bartender even sampled it (safely) herself and was impressed with it, even having another bartender try it. I loved the Bourbon Blackberry Sidecar, just a smooth and well-made drink. When we got seated I saw they met my request and decorated our table with roses. My girlfriend loved it. The bread platter was almost too good, we were worried it was going to ruin our dinner. Our waitress even gave us a box of all of them to take home. The bone-in ribeye might have been the best steak I've had in a while. The flavors and tenderness were exquisite within each bite. It cut like butter and that's not an exaggeration. My girlfriend wasn't too impressed with the veal tomahawk, as it wasn't as seasoned as my steak and a bit chewy. For sides, we had the lobster mac n cheese (10/10), and the soy glazed Brussel Sprouts with bacon (delicious). All in all, this is a place that is a must-go for any special occasion. read more

I coulda used maybe a pinch of more salt but it didn't mess up my meal. The lobster was delicious!! The fried lobster tails were literally an explosion in my mouth lol. The smoked salmon avocado toast had the perfect amount of smoked salmon although I was eyeing everyone's New England Clam chowder. The filet mignon melted in your mouth. We celebrated with banana coconut cream pie and a flourless chocolate espresso cake with delicious coffee. The NZ Sauvignon Blanc complemented the fish nicely. We had a beautiful table and every staff person including the runners and drink servers right From the minute we pulled in, the double valet and welcome from the manager right down to our server who was both warm and impeccable set the tone for one of the best Mother's Day brunch's on record. My husband turned 50 this May and to Celebrate, I wanted to Splurge for his Big Milestone birthday! We had reservations and met our lovely server, Kyara Johnson. Now..... for the yummmy stuff. The Lobster Mac N Cheese was Awesome and Delicious and perfect. Yes Please. We should've just ordered 2 Large portions of This. We made reserve rations while enroute and was immediately seated once inside. We had a great server who told us our specials and frequently checked on us.
