Such a cool spot! My husband and I have wanted to go here for some time now after driving past it a few times, and we finally incorporated it into one of our recent date nights. We went around 8pm on a Friday because we wanted to grab a bite, a couple drinks, and check out their karaoke scene. We don't sing often (he NEVER sings, I do on occasion) but we love to watch others! Their setup here is pretty solid with a stage and lighting systems and everything! Plus a super large screen for everybody else to be able to read and sing along. Service here was awesome. Both staff members we encountered were super nice and we got all of our stuff quickly when ordered. They have a super solid lineup of drinks on tap and even some decent wines. My husband and I have learned that it's better for us to order one entree and one app, and we just split everything and we always end up decently full and don't waste much! We got an order of their mozzarella sticks and the Sandbar Burger (their take on a smash burger). Everything was delicious! We were pleasantly surprised by the burger - no frills, just simple and done well. I'm glad that we finally made it in and we'll definitely be back.

Awesome karaoke setup with smoke machine!

The Sandbar has the best karaoke in Tacoma. The stage, effects, and host are all top notch. I love taking my theatre gang here after shows at Centerstage. The food's ok, but the service is pretty great. We enjoy the banter they provide. I always thought this was going to be a divey trucker bar, but it walks a nice line. The aquatic decor gives it personality, and the strange layout allows you to feel fairly secluded even as you're sitting amongst a crowd.

Very tasty Pickle Pizza that we got from the SandBar!

I don't go over towards the tide flats, the Port of Tacoma or Brown's Point too often along Marine Drive I believe. I just don't have a whole lot of reasons to go over that way. But on my last jaunt over there which was recently I spotted The SandBar & Grill and looked into Yelp and saw that it had a decent score on their review average and decided to go there on the way back from Brown's Point. Probably what really sold me was their pizza selection. They had a pickle pizza which is not very easy to find but they are surprisingly good. The SandBar's version is very good and we ate it all. The waitress when we asked for it wasn't sure if they were doing pizza that day but thankfully they did. We had mocktails that they had on their drink menu which were good also! The location is pretty cool and we had no complaints. We will definitely be back for the pizza !

Terrific interior and very tempting menu.

Our friend Mel recently started working at the sandbar and recommended that we visit. The decor is very well done, and both the restaurant and bar are spotlessly clean. I like that. Prices are a bit high, but the food is high-quality and the drinks are well-made I understand that the sandbar also offers entertainment and the bar side is very popular for watching the Seahawks, the Mariners, and the Kraaken. You should visit and say hello to Mel. She will remember you and what you drink and she will be sure that you always feel welcome.

service is markedly better than the food, bummer about that. on the plus side there's supposed to be a new guy running back of the house and making changes but that doesn't really help me out today... :-( so it's cold and wet and blowy and I've got several hours until race time so how about lunch? sitting at the bar as a solo so the waitress hands me off and puts on a fresh pot for coffee. I decided on fish and chips after a quick look at the menu and write a couple postcards while I wait. being literally surrounded by water on all sides including up I really expected way more fish on my plate; seriously, between the rivers, lakes, and the ocean there's gotta be more fishes somewhere. also, the cross sectional area of a chip should be closer to a third of a square inch than 1/16 (that's totally a fry.) and please do something about the slaw...

First timers, sat at the bar, bartender was super friendly and accommodating! We came in around 11 on Sunday. We got crab cakes, prime rib dip, and a burger. Crab cakes were crispy on the outside and flakey with crab on the inside. Whatever the dipping sauce that came with it is, was chefs kiss delicious. Prime rib dip was juicy and the horseradish Mayo was a perfect compliment. Hubs dug in on his cheese burger. It was also perfectly cooked. Taps for draft are pretty cool looking and barstools were comfy. Bar is big and we love that we can bring kids in too. We are planning to come back and watch a game on the projector big screen.

Melinda was our server she's gorgeous and a sweet heart. And she was a great waitress. The Capresse pizza was not very good. It was overcooked and not flavorful. 10-19-24, the band wasn't good.

Stopped by for the first time since the new location opened and it was great! The hummus was delicious and the pizza was so good!! If you're stopping by, you definitely need to try any of their pizzas. It is a super fun space and our server was so kind! Will definitely be coming back.

To begin with, the burgers made by both joints are similar, but please don't go expecting an exact match. And that's a good thing. There are plenty of places in the Puget Sound region trying too hard to make a poor facsimile. Pick-Quick goes another direction. This is a plus in my book. The bun is just right. The meat patty griddled to perfection. The cheese is cheese, and the veggies are what you'd expect. But the onion is the game changer. No lettuce to give you crunch but little if anything else besides potential intestinal distress (looking at you, Taco Bell). It's a single, solid slice of sweet, mild onion, a flat ring that adds a solid crunch and a satisfying counterbalance to the rest of the burger. A change in perspective that is both welcome and delightful. And they've got a picnic area to enjoy instead of a dining room. So there's that. Their fries are great. The shakes are great. The service takes a while, but that's because they're actually back there, making your order and the orders of the forty people who got there before you. And the wait is a part of the charm. A rite of passage, a way to atone for whatever sins you've made against the cheeseburger gods, for which you will be greatly rewarded in half an hour. Suck it up and deal.

In fact, there's not a single Indian dish on the menu. Instead, it's like someone combined an upscale Denny's, a seafood restaurant, and a Chinese restaurant into one menu. I'm guessing that's because there aren't many food options inside the Emerald Queen Casino in Fife. It's basically this restaurant or the deli downstairs. (For what it's worth, I grabbed a brownie from the deli afterward, and it was delicious.) The deli menu seemed pretty limited, so maybe that's why Tatoosh Grill decided to offer a little bit of everything. The menu is all over the place--in the best and weirdest way possible. You can order breakfast, sandwiches, salads, soups, seafood, steaks...and then flip a page and order Chinese food. It's definitely an interesting concept. We decided to try the Chinese menu since it had pretty good reviews. I ordered one of the lunch specials that came with chow mein, fried rice, and breaded almond chicken. Everything tasted great. The chow mein was flavorful, the fried rice was good, and the chicken itself was delicious. My only complaint is the portion of protein. For a lunch special that was over $20, I expected a lot more chicken. Instead, I got what felt like one small piece, while the rest of the plate was mostly chow mein and fried rice. It definitely felt like I was paying restaurant prices for a plate that was heavy on the carbs. My husband ordered the General Tso's chicken, which came with jasmine rice, and honestly, I wish I had gone that route. His dish was a huge bowl packed with chicken, and if I'm remembering correctly, it was actually cheaper than my lunch special. There was so much food that he couldn't even finish it. If you're planning to order from the Chinese menu, I'd recommend skipping the lunch combinations and just ordering one of the entrée dishes. It seems like you'll get a lot more protein and a much better value. The couple sitting next to us couldn't stop talking about how good the breakfast was, so that's definitely something I'd be interested in trying next time. Overall, I'd come back. The food was good, the service was solid, and while the menu is one of the most random I've ever seen, somehow it works. My only real complaint is that my particular meal didn't feel like the best value for the price. Next time, I'll order differently, but I'll definitely be back.
