Well, they do!The family owned dinrestaurant has a variety of menu items from seafood to hamburger steak,reasonable prices and the food is served hot.There is a wide variety of vegetables to choose from:green beans, baked potato, collards, slaw, creamed spinach, potato salad and more. You can order your seafood fried or grilled and at lunch they have " all you can eat" seafood specials. I haven't tried it at lunch but I will. The service is consistently friendly and attentive. Where the locals eat is their slogan and it is where I would eat often if I were a local! Really good homemade food in this small diner. The pork chops, potatoes & gravy, and green beans with hush puppies were amazing! Wifey had the Liver and onions, field peas, & boiled cabbage and her review was outstanding perfection as well! Excellent fried shrimp! Highly recommended. Surprised that free desserts come with all entrees even burgers. The banana pudding was delicious Their list of sides including home style vegetables is extensive. Will have to try their fried pickles next time. The Captains Table was a short walk from the Hampton Inn. It had good reviews and they were not wrong. The hush puppies were excellent as was our seafood combos. The coleslaw was also excellent. The only thing I would do differ is order something smaller as the portions were large. You must save room for the hit glazed donuts, which are only a dollar. My family & I had dinner on a. Sat .evening. First time since the new owners had taken over. We had all you can eat fried oysters, clam strips & shrimp with fried & Cole . Have been coming here to The Captain's Table for years. Their liver and onions were great and the hot donuts were always fresh with quick friendly service. I guess this has changed, maybe because it is off season and there aren't many tourists to impress. Don't know and don't care. We came in this Friday evening. There were few customers. The staff were behind the counter and didn't welcome us. We sat there 10 minutes with no water, no menu and no server. Instead they were still behind the counter gabbing and eating. Not too professional. Rather than interrupting their little party and insisting on service due a customer we got up and left. One was overheard saying "there they go" and as we left the server said "have a good night." I replied "you too and enjoy your food." Not a good experience from a normally good restaurant but then again I was not a tourist. Mark one more restaurant from the list of places to go. read more

Well let me say, most of the food was great however, the waitress gave poor service. I had the crab cakes, shrimp and scallops and they we all delicious. The only food that wasn't that great was the baked potato, it tasted like yesterday's leftover. This is a small restaurant (maybe 20 tables) It seemed to be just our waitress, the other waitress seemed to be on the ball with no complaints. Our waitress however, a different story. She was nice but just not paying attention much. She forgot some of our order, got the two orders that were seat after us wrong too. Our server Danielle was super sweet. The food was not at all. I ordered the Scallops and Shrimp combo. It was some of the worst callabash style seafood I've ever had. Our favorite MHC breakfast diner during our summer vacation to visit grandkids who live in area. We are from New England and rent a house on Atlantic Beach for quality family time. We always cross the causeway to eat breakfast here. We were a party of 3, we sat immediately with southern hospitality from our server. We ordered pancakes and bacon plate, eggs, bacon and home fries plate and eggs, ham, home fries and grits. The food was hot and tasty and prompt. Our plates were empty when our sever cleaned the table. All the food was delicious, perfectly cooked to each specification: over easy eggs, over medium eggs, crispy bacon. We went to this restaurant just this past Saturday night When I ordered the dinner of 2 crabcakes, waitress told me they only had one left, and forced me to order a seafood combo, and pay $1 more for the order, so i would have shrimp and the one crabcake. So, in essence, she was making me pay more because the restaurant ran uot of crabccakes, instead of giving the customer a break. After we got our meals, to me the crabcake didn't taste right and the owner didn't even come out to speak to me about a discount or refund or whatever. They also told the cakes were made 12 hours ago, so they were not fresh! But, they insisted we pay for the 2 seafood combo, and wouldn't cut us any slack for the poor tasting crabcake i think this is very poor customer relations and quite rude to do to any customer As I've never been treated like this rude in any other restaurant before. Always others make concessions if a customer is dissatisfied with a meal or the quality of the food, which was very poor. This place should be investigated!! Very poor attitudes there. The food was very good, seasoned well, better than the Sanitary. I enjoyed having a choice of sides and variety of vegetables. I had a combination of oysters and crab cakes. The crab cakes was very meaty and oysters scrumptious. One of my boys had all you can shrimp (grilled) he was satisfied. My other son had a burger , he was pleased with his burger (he eats burgers where ever we go ). My father had the all you can eat trout , it was beautiful to look at and said it tasted fresh and was well seasoned. Mom had the flounder. she enjoyed her food as well, she can be difficult to please but stated that she did enjoyed the food especially the hush puppies. Wait staff was wonderful and cheerful. Not a ton of options for (non fast food chain) breakfast spots in Atlantic Beach area. Did a little yelping, as usual, and landed here. Classic American diner look and feel here. Greeting by my grandmother (or someone just like her) and told to sit anywhere I liked. Grandma, who I love, came over and took my drink order..coffee...it's 630am..which btw is why I selected this place..open at 6. Coffee was as expected, diner-like...black and hot. Again, I'm a coffee snob and really look for independent coffee shops to get my fix but this will do for breakfast I suppose. Grandma came back to take my order of sausage and cheese omelette with grits. I just realized I order grits nearly everywhere I go...anyway, food came quickly. Grits were okay, not fantastic. Omelette was good although the sausage in it was a little over cooked. Prob cooked early and was sitting in a pan drying out. Was just a bit tough. Meal was about what I expected..good, not great but this place has a great old school feel and grandma waiting tables brings it up a notch. I eat at the Captains Table fairly regularly. It is a local place meaning down home cooking, little atmosphere but friendly staff who will tell you which veges are freshest. The seafood is lightly battered and consistently very good, The all-you-can-eat deal has been changed, I understand, to Thursday/Friday but is a good deal. Prices are very reasonable in general. I gave it neutral so it won't hurt them on Yelp. But if you are searching for the online menu, don't trust what Google shows you for this place. Their menu is basic fried food.
