A delightful little corner sandwich shop with gourmet soups and sides. I stopped here for a quick bite in Windsor with my family before we took the VIA train to Toronto. There are other businesses nearby, but street parking was free and relatively easy to come by. It's a fast-casual concept place, where you order at the counter then go sit. Not a large restaurant, but maybe room for 20ppl at about 5 tables. I ordered a half sandwich, half salad combo which also comes with a small side (soup or fries). This lunch combo was the most popular option amongst my party and made for a nice balanced meal with everything you could want to taste. The menu is a little heavy on the meat options with just a few select vegetarian items - but as the name Carvery indicades, this is a meat-centric place. Overall I'm giving the food a 10 out of 10. The sandwiches were well made and better than anything you could find at a chain fast-casual restaurant. The sweet potato soup was delicious and well presented. The arnold-palmer lemonade tea combo was great. The "hot bacon" dressing on my salad was indeed hot and made with real bacon. I shouldn't have been surprised - but I was. What a great twist on salad dressing. I'd definitely come back here to try more of the menu. It was all delicious. read more

When I arrived I thought the place had shut down. There was an open sign in the window but the white/cream coloured blinds from a distance looked like the windows were just papered over. After peering in and seeing people in there I realized that it was still open for business! The menu is entirely on the wall and you order and pay at the cash. Lots of combo options including whole or half sandwiches plus soup and/salad combos. Unfortunately all combos came with a drink and I would have preferred just tap water and maybe a slightly lower price. I got whole chicken sandwich plus garden salad and a Diet Pepsi for about $20. Feels a bit pricey for Windsor. Sandwich wasn't bad but a bit too much bread for me. I could have been fine with smaller surface area but piled up a tad thicker. Chicken was moist and sauce and the cheese and roasted peppers went well with it. Salad was fine except the balsamic was overpowering. Flavour was too strong or maybe there was just too much dressing. I wasn't floored but it was ok. I'd go back to try a different flavour. read more

Stopped here on our way to the Windsor airport, and I had the Beef Poutine. So good! The service was quick, ambiance was perfect for a chalkboard fast casual spot. Prices were a little high for the portion sizes, but overall happy we stopped here and would go back for a quick, delicious bite. read more

Came here today for a late Valentine's Day lunch date. I heard the place was small but busy so I was happy to find a few tables free! It's very straightforward as there's a ORDER HERE sign right in front of you when you walk in. On your left is a wall chalk menu. Our cashier was a guy with glasses and a beard who was friendly and patient! He answered any questions I had and it was just great customer service. My boyfriend and I both had the half sandwich plus two sides and a lemonade/iced tea combo. He had the half pulled pork sandwich with fries, yam chipotle cream soup, and iced tea. I had the half blackened fish sandwich (sauce on the side with fries, toss salad (no cheese and cashier recommended strawberry balsamic bc it was a popular pick and I was frazzled because they only had fancy sounding dressings I wasn't familiar with), and lemonade. My boyfriend enjoyed everything except the soup. He devoured his sandwich. He said the soup texture weirded him out as it was akin to baby food. Fries were basic. The iced tea is an apple iced tea and it was very tasty! Before I got my food, I didn't think half a sandwich was going to fill me up but when it arrived it looked like a full size sandwich I'd find at a diner. The blackened fish was tasty and I'm still trying to figure out if I like their lemon basil aioli. I don't like tartar sauce or cream based sauces but I didn't hate this one. See I'm just running in circles. The sandwich came with mixed greens, chopped tomatoes, and sliced red onions. The toss salad had mixed greens, sliced radish, carrots, chopped tomatoes, and corn. The strawberry balsamic was very good! I was surprised bc I had a bad experience with a strawberry/raspberry balsamic before. The fries were standard. The lemonade was great! Wow.....came here because it was on my list of places to try in Windsor and brought my sister along with me. I've followed this restaurant on Instagram for a while and their sandwiches always look so tasty. We were not disappointed! I had the half herb chicken which was excellent. The chicken was sliced just right and the basil aioli just added something extra to the sandwich. The French fries with their seasoning were also delicious! Totally surprised by how good this place is! I was in Windsor for 4 hours by accident and wanted to find a healthy and relaxing lunch spot. The music in the cafe is spot on and really sets the tone for the atmosphere. I got the plate deal: half sandwich + 2 sides + drink. The blackened fish sandwich was perfectly cooked. Fish was flakey, sauce was well balanced, and the bread is pillowy with a slightly crunchy exterior. The roasted tomato soup and spring salad were fresh and complemented the sandwich well. Cool little spot, we've gotten take-out twice. Gf and I are usually hungover when we get it, therefore a bit anti-social so the small dining room is not what we're after, but the great sandwiches are! I've had the rib-eye twice, and it's very tasty with greens and a horseradish sauce. Was a little heavy on the sauce second time around. Gf usually gets the pesto chicken, which is also very tasty! All the sammies on the menu look great really, will definitely be back! The Arnold Palmer lemonade and iced tea are also nice and refreshing! First of all I wish I could rate this restaurant more than 5 stars. It's a cute little place and the location is safe and friendly. I had the blacked fish sandwich with a side of yam chipotle soup that was absolutely delicious! And for drink I had the apple cold tea and it was very refreshing. Porchetta sandwich and fries. PMG I have never had a sandwich I have enjoyed more. My only regret is that this place is not located closer to the Toronto area. Almost worth the drive all on its own. He even asked me how I'd like my steak cooked for my steak sandwich, something that reinforced my confidence that the steak would be fresh and delicious. The fries were perfect, crisp and think cut. We finished most of them in the car on the way home as we couldn't wait to dig into them. The sandwiches were good, but we both agreed they were overdressed with sauce. This made them somewhat watery and messy to eat. This also meant that the flavor of the sauce seemed to overpower most other things in the sandwich. Today at 4:35pm Went today for the first time...wow. Was met with the expressionless face of what I found out was the owner. No, "Hi, how ya doing?" Or "Welcome to the Carvery!" Just a "what can I get ya..." We placed our order, sat down and was presented with our plates in a reasonable amount of time, about the only plus. The sandwiches were just OK...nothing that made me say WOW! But its what came after that turned my stomach. The owner proceeded to sit down at a table and was joined, by who I assume, was his wife. All was fine until she stood up, proceeded to step between his legs and start caressing his arms!!! If that wasn't bad enough, he goes on to do a full butt grab of her and place his face directly onto her chest...I was just waiting for the motorboat action to begin!! It was at that point I could take no more and had to leave. That was conduct unbecoming of a professional and totally unacceptable in public view of your customers. There was another table of guests in there besides myself and my guest, and no matter, it should NOT have happened. You have lost at least two customers because of your inability to keep your hands to yourselves. I would not want you making my food!!! read more

What a great little spot to eat! Went there just last evening and we had a blackened fish sandwich, a pulled pork and also a Porchetta. The flavour was great on all 3 - I sampled everything . The ciabatta buns were fresh. The soup was great - Yam Chipotle - and it had a little kick to it also which was great. The atmosphere was quaint and the service was quick and friendly. Price is great for what you get. My wife got a side salad and loved the warm bacon dressing - I mean really, can you go wrong with the words 'warm' and 'bacon' in the same title of a salad dressing. No, you just can't. I would recommend this little jewel on Wyandotte to anyone. Finally, the decor (someone likes planes) was fun and interesting to read also. A winner in my books. read more

I love sandwiches. Have recently moved to the Windsor area from Syracuse and one of things I miss the most about CNY is Darwins (anyone who has been there can appreciate what I'm talking about). Let me start off by telling you that I get the carvery once a week. This place is so cute, I love the owners, such a cool story of where they came from and the type of restaurant they used to own. I love seeing this place succeed in Windsor and hearing how much they love it here too. The food is ridiculously amazing for how cheap it is. Porketta should def be one of your first meals there, blackened fish, braised beef and grilled cheese are also some of my favourites. TOMATO SOUP!!! Ahhh! Love this so much, and how it's served with little nacho chips and sour cream. Get it in a combo (with fries cause they are also awesome) and grab a San pellegrino in the fridge, you will love it. read more
