    Chicken tenders and fries

Got the chicken tenders and fries, and they give you a bunch of food!! The chicken tenders was pretty much just fried chicken, and much bigger pieces than I expected. The chicken was a bit bland so I did need some of the honey mustard sauce. Pretty crisp chicken but lacking in taste unfortunately. An overall okay experience.

What a great find! I'm on the road for work and always looking for local eats and treats... I wasn't disappointed! Great atmosphere! Outdoor seating is super chill and the staff is fun and friendly ! Food is tasty with huge portions! I didn't leave empty-handed or hungry ! Well done

The outside is very unassuming, it just looks like your neighborhood bar. Don't be fooled. There's patio seating but we sat inside. It is loud! Don't expect to carry on any meaningful conversation, but as parents we don't really mind much, it drowns out our kids being loud. They had me at 5 ciders on tap! I tried the draft Doc's sour cherry hard cider. Oh, how have I not known you in my life? Delicious! I'm already looking for places to buy this seasonal cider in bottles. We started with fried mozzarella for an appetizer. Crisp outside, fried perfectly, gooey inside, with a nice marinara sauce. I got the black bean quesadillas. Came with a side of corn chips with queso, sour cream and salsa. I'm a Texas girl, good luck impressing me with your queso but this was quite good. The quesadillas were grilled nicely. One of my sons got the Mac and cheese without bacon. It came in a skillet, good flavor and creamy. My husband got buffalo chicken nachos and didn't seem too impressed but he tried my other son's cojo chicken quesadillas and said they were very good. 4 of us with app and 4 extra drinks(1 alcoholic) and tip was about $85. But 3 of us had enough food left over for another meal. Solidly good food and a staggeringly large selection of adult beverages, with good, friendly service as well.

I dig this place for its relaxed atmosphere, and the great service... I ordered the Garlic Parmesan and Cojo wings. LOVED the Cojo wings!!! It had a great kick to them. My hubby ordered the Steakhouse Burger (all burgers are made with FRESH ground chuck and a short rib blend) which was very good...I ordered the Limbtwister which had bacon, sautéed jalapeños, and a SLAB of cream cheese (does that rock or what?!!) both came with a side of their Awesome hand cut fries. I ordered the Mac and Cheese for our daughter, the serving was generous, but lacking taste...needed more seasonings. But overall, cool place to wind down, enjoy some savory food, and have a drink or two.

A delightfully charming and stylish gastropub offering a rich menu of food and drink with both an indoor bar and an outdoor beer garden. Loved the Rasher Chop Salad with grilled Cajun chicken, washed down with local favorite Sloop Juice Bomb IPA.

"We don't have a cocktail menu, but we can make anything you'd like."…read more That was one of the first things our server told us, and honestly, it was refreshing. These days, it feels like every bar has a cocktail menu full of creatively named drinks that require reading a list of ingredients just to figure out what you're ordering. At Governor's Tavern, if you want a gin and tonic, you simply ask for a gin and tonic. The only decision you need to make is which gin you'd like. I'm not much of a cocktail person, but I appreciate that not every place feels the need to reinvent the wheel. The place was packed at lunchtime, but we got lucky and grabbed a pair of seats across from the bar. The server who I quoted was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Guinness, but unfortunately the keg had just kicked. She recommended the Samuel Smith chocolate stout instead and even brought me a sample before I committed to taste since I never heard of it, which was a nice touch. For food, we ordered the State Grill burger and the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. Both were excellent, and each came with Belgian-style hand-cut fries. If you're spending the day browsing the boutiques and antique shops along Warren Street and want a drink, a good meal, and a lively mix of locals and tourists, Governor's Tavern is worth a stop.

The menu is not huge, but we enjoyed our choices. Two of us had the OG chicken sandwiches, one got a caprese chicken sandwich and my nephew got chicken strips. They all came with fantastic fries. Service was friendly, but a bit harried. I think the server was the only one working, so it was understandable. Prices were good. Street parking.

Beautiful architecture, dating back hundreds of years. We were impressed by the People's Pub. Pool and darts on the second floor, and bar and dining area on the first. We spent a good amount of time admiring the wood work around the bar and restaurant, as well as the tin ceilings. We ordered more food that we probably should have, but it all sounded so good, that with the winter menu coming to a close, we knew we would likely not have a chance to order it again. We chose to sit at the bar, and enjoyed a whiskey and pisco sours, made with actual eggs. The open kitchen is a nice touch, and it was nice to see the well staffed restaurant handle the Friday night dinner crowd. Portions for most dishes were a generous size, and we enjoyed the variety of choices. We can't wait to come back to try the spring menu, or to come on one of the special nights, such as the live Irish music.

There is a huge parking lot located behind the brewery/restaurant with ample parking. We were seated immediately on a Saturday evening and brought menus and drinks. We ordered a few appetizers to start and if we were still hungry we were planning to order more. The chicken wings here are an absolute must. The chicken is tender and moist with a crisp exterior. The Cajun sauce was similar to buffalo but packed a better kick. We also ordered the Bavarian soft pretzels and garlic knots. The garlic knots were so light and fluffy and the marinara sauce was well seasoned and extra garlicky in flavor which we both enjoyed. The Bavarian pretzels were so good on their own they didn't even need the beer cheese or mustard dipping sauce. We were stuffed and did not have room for any more food. Can't wait to come back and check out the rest of the menu. Pricing is extremely reasonable as well.
