Patient of The Cat Doctor in Thousand Oaks, resting.

Fourth review over the last 8 years of taking my sweet cats to Dr. Cody. Every positive review formerly written about The Cat Doctor in Thousand Oaks, still remains true. My cat is so unbelievably comfortable with Dr. Cody, and I always feel very confident about his handling of my cat; it's impressive to watch. Dr. Cody's presence is calming. He is a truly skilled cat whisperer. His staff are friendly, gentle with the fur-babies, smile a lot and convey they're glad to be helpful. My family (SALLYcakes included, of course!), truly love Dr. Cody and his staff-family.

    Coco and I ...

If you want compassionate, reliable, affordable care for your cat, The Cat Doctor in Thousand Oaks is your place. They took such good care of my sweet, almost 20 year old cat Coco, and I, in the last year of her life. The wonderful Dr. Cody helped me manage her kidney disease and hyperthyroidism with medication and a prescription diet. It worked well for about 10 months but then her condition declined. We did an IV bag for a bit and took other measures but she stopped eating, not even her treats, lacked energy and was stumbling. So when it was time to make the hardest decision a pet's human companion has to make, they took care of us in the end too. On the day of, Drew (front desk person) was especially kind to share his decision to put his own 15 year old pet down, which was helpful because it's a huge responsibility to make this choice, albeit a humane one. They made it as pain-free as something so painful could be. I'm so grateful for this little country like office and for the kind people who work there (Thank you so much Dr. Cody, Christine, Drew, Amaya, Sarah, Theresa and others for the TLC). July 29, 2026

    Charlie in healthier days.

Dr. Cody is the quintessential cat doc. Most vets I have been to, while very competent, are more experienced with canines. Dr. Cody is a specialist in feline medicine and understands cats. The staff is engaged, empathetic, courteous and efficient. Charlie has been diabetic for nearly a dozen years. Now he is battling inflammatory bowel disease. I feel he is in good hands with Dr. Cody. I highly recommend him to anyone who loves their cat(s).

This will be my last review for a long while because our beloved Soft Kitty went to be with her sister Hard Kitty last week. Soft stopped eating and was struggling so we made an emergency visit to see Doctor Cody. After our detailed feedback, his examination and her age (18 1/2) he diagnosed her with kidney failure. Dr. Cody did not recommend additional testing but we requested some bloodwork just to confirm. We appreciated Dr. Cody not pushing costly tests on an already difficult situation. The tests confirmed his diagnosis and we made plans to bring her back in a couple of days to have her put to sleep. Right when we walked in Christine ushered us into the love room (that's what I call it) which we greatly appreciate. We loved Soft up and when it was time Dr Cody came into the room. He genuinely shared his condolences and sat on the ground next to Soft and petted her. He told us that it was a selfless thing to do and it was the right thing to do. Soft went peacefully and we are grateful for all of the warmth and kindness shown by Dr. Cody, Drew and Christine and the entire staff! RIP Soft Kitty

We were able to get a last-minute appointment with Dr. Cody for our 18-year-old cat who was vomiting and had other worrisome symptoms. We were going out of town for two weeks the very next day so we weren't sure what the outcome was going to be. After Dr. Cody recommended a few tests it turned out that Soft Kitty had pancreatitis and needed medication and hydration. We decided to leave Soft Kitty at The Cat Doctor for two weeks so that she could get the care that she needed. We called every couple of days to get an update from Christine and Drew and they were always very helpful. Although we live in Las Vegas and Simi Valley we choose to go to Thousand Oaks to The Cat Doctor because they specialize in cats and because of the great Yelp reviews. Don't hesitate.

I am so grateful for Dr. Cody and his team. For the decade that I've had my cat I had taken her somewhere else, I wish I had known about The Cat Doctor sooner. If you want a team of people who will love and care about your cat like you do, then I highly recommend going here. They take their time and even provide a full summary about your visit. Any time I call they are patient and go above and beyond to help answer my questions. My cat's comfort zone is her bed so the team even lets her stay in it while they treat her thanks for taking such great care of Olive!

Jon Doe waiting for his results at "The Cat Doctor"

2 hours ago I called my regular Vet/ER at 11am to see if I could bring in my cat. I also called two other emergency vet hospitals and a backup vet to see if I could bring my cat in for a possible UTI. The regular Vet/ER's were unable to to see any animals as they were without an emergency vet on duty. They gave me the name of another VET ER. Called them, they had an 8 hour backup of patients and referred me to the vet I had just called. Long story short, called "The Cat Doctor" on a chance. Christine answered, heard my problem, took my number and said I'll call u right back, I'll check with the Doctor and see if he can make a spot to see the cat. They were booked a week out. Christine made it happen, we got Jon Doe in, and they treated him with great care! Turns out he has become diabetic. So grateful to Doc Cody, Christine and the entire staff! They went above and beyond!

Dr Cody & his staff are very kind & have great bedside manners! My cat does not like dogs & used to have anxiety when it came to her yearly physical exam but after doing research on the nearest cat only doctor she no longer has as much anxiety as before. Both her & I have a great experience going to the vet! The prices in my opinion are very reasonable.

If you're looking for a place where your dog will be loved like family, look no further than Dog…read moresitting by Ally I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ally and the care she gives to every dog. From the moment I met her, I could tell this wasn't just a business--it is truly her passion. She has such a kind heart, an incredible work ethic, and a genuine love for animals that you can feel immediately. My standard poodle, Chewy, goes to daycare with Ally , and when we went to Hawaii for nine days, I never once worried about him. Instead of being kept in kennels, the dogs get to live together in a comfortable home environment. They can relax on dog beds, sleep on furniture, play together, and simply be dogs. It's such a refreshing and loving alternative to traditional boarding. One thing that meant the world to me was how often Ally kept me updated. Every morning and every evening she sent me photos and updates of Chewy having fun, relaxing, and making friends. Seeing those pictures while I was away gave me complete peace of mind and allowed me to truly enjoy my vacation, knowing he was happy, safe, and loved. I also love seeing how much thought she puts into making the dogs' days special. During the hot weather, she even sets up fun water play for them, and it's obvious from every picture that the dogs are having the time of their lives. Although I've only known Ally for a short time, I genuinely admire her. She is young, hardworking, compassionate, and has built something truly special. It's rare to find someone who cares this deeply about every dog in her care. Chewy absolutely loves going there, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to leave him with Allie again. I recommend Ally's Boarding & Daycare wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a safe, loving, and happy place for their dog. Your pup will be treated like family, and that's something you simply can't put a price on. Thank you, Ally for taking such incredible care of Chewy. We are so grateful to have found you!

Lately, I've seen so many heartbreaking stories about doggy daycares: dogs getting hurt, neglected, escaping, or simply not being treated with the love they deserve. Every time I read one, my first thought is the same: thank God Nova has Ally and Travis. Nova has been coming here since he was just 6 months old. He's now about to turn 5, which means they've been part of nearly his entire life. They've watched him grow from a timid, reactive puppy into the confident, happy dog he is today. They know his quirks, his routines, what makes him nervous, what makes him excited, and they have loved every version of him along the way. As dog owners, we all know there are very few people we'd trust with our entire heart. That's what our dogs are. They're not just pets, they're family. And somehow Ally and Travis have earned a level of trust that I didn't even know was possible. I've left Nova with them for the longest periods I've ever left him with anyone, and I've never once laid awake wondering if he was okay. There has never been a moment where I questioned whether he was safe, loved, exercised, or cared for. That kind of peace is priceless, and if you're a dog parent, you know exactly what I mean. What means the most to me is that Nova makes the choice himself every single time. The second he realizes where we're going, he's beside himself with excitement. If he doesn't get to see Ally or Travis, he cries. When he does, he runs to them without looking back. As someone whose dog was once fearful of people, seeing him love someone that deeply tells me everything I need to know. Dogs don't fake trust. They don't pretend to feel safe. They either do, or they don't. Nova has never questioned whether Ally and Travis are his people. Over the years, they've been there through my work schedule, my vacations, family emergencies, and every moment in between. They have given me something I can never truly repay: the ability to go through life knowing that the biggest piece of my heart is safe. That feeling is something every dog parent hopes to find, and so few actually do. Even if life takes me somewhere else one day, if I'm ever back in town and need someone to watch Nova, there is no question where he's going. I would drive hours just to leave him with Ally and Travis because trust like this isn't replaceable. They're not just our daycare: they're part of Nova's family. If you're scrolling through reviews wondering whether this is the right place for your dog, I hope this helps. Five years later, after hundreds of drop-offs and pickups, I can say with complete confidence that choosing Ally and Travis was one of the best decisions I've ever made for Nova. They have loved him like he was their own, and I will spend the rest of his life being grateful for that.

I also left a handwritten note by the glasses of Water saying please do two fresh glasses each time of fridge water. I would not have stayed an extra day if I ever thought for a second the note wouldn't have been read or the notes online that say use two fresh glasses that are in a pile of fresh clean glasses right by the fridge. even if I did not leave the note, why would anyone ever think cats would drink slimy bacteria infested water they would choose toilet water over a dirty bowl of water. You should always change the dry food bowls before we're feeling and the dishes of water rinsing is not even good enough, but everyone that knows Cats knows this. You're a bad caretaker for cats. If you give them water in any dirty dish, that's disgusting and rude.
