Dr. Ricksgers and staff are great! Always taken good care of our girls and answered any questions or concerns we had. Never tried to push all kinds of unnecessary stuff and very honest about how they are doing and what we need to do for them. Our girls hate being in the car but I know they secretly ( haha ) love going to see everyone at the Cat Hospital. If you have a furry feline, definitely go to see them! read more

We brought our cat for a dental cleaning and Dr. Ricksgers was amazing, so knowledgeable and thorough. She took her time with the exam & answered my (many) questions patiently. Her vet techs are also first-rate: I really appreciated their extra care, making sure Bishop was comfortable before and after the cleaning. I always feel nervous when he has to have anesthetic, but I was able to relax when I left, knowing he was in good hands. Can't say enough good things about the Cat Hospital! read more

We moved to the area a few years ago, and our kitty transitioned from being an indoor city cat to a romp-through-the-yard country cat. We had to find a nice vet when she picked up a parasite (she's a good mouser/chipmunker, what can I say?), and heard nothing but great things about the Cat Hospital. They were all right. Absolutely the best vet experience I've ever had, and I've had pets my whole life. We walked in, Bear, the big black cat, came out and greeted Lula (who was not quite sure what to think of such a big friendly other animal). The staff was absolutely lovely, and Dr R is by far the most gentle, wonderful person. Explained everything very thoroughly, and was so kind with my little buddy. I'm SO happy we found these folks. I brought my kitties here for a check up and to get established with a vet as we are new to the area. The front office staff and the vet were all very nice, and the vet came out to my car to talk with me about my cats and her findings. While my kitties generally *hate* riding in the car or being in the carriers, they did not seem at all stressed when they were returned to me. Both were quiet on the way home and calm in the evening. While in the visit, it was discovered that one of my kitties had an ear infection and the vet gave me meds for it. The vet also read the records from my previous vet. I know that's probably expected but it was the first time a vet ever discussed my cats' history so thoroughly and with such attention to detail. I'm happy that we found them! read more

I can't say enough about Dr. Ricksgers and her staff. She was so great with our two cats and spent over an hour with them. She checked them out from head to toe and recommended ways to help them. Paragon needed dental surgery. Dr. R called during the procedure to update us and then we received another call after the surgery. We were given meds for pain and antibiotics. The next day one of the staff members called to check up on him. They truly do care for their patients and do everything possible to keep them comfortable. I am very pleased that we found Dr. R and cannot understand the negative reviews. Everyone in the office is very caring and attentive. Parker will have his teeth cleaned in December, and I am confident that he will receive the same great care that his brother did. read more

Great vet for cats! Dr. Ricksgers is very knowledgeable and compassionate. She takes the time to explain everything in detail that is going on with your pet. She personally calls and leaves messages with your test results, sometimes even when the office has closed. When I switched over here from another vet, I also found the prices to be better and really liked the consistency of always having the same vet. Sometimes at the other vet in town, the doctor would come in (clearly without looking at the chart at all) and introduce herself and I'd be thinking, "we've met twice.....and you've seen my cat once before for the same problem...." That led to many visits to take care of the same problems, which is why we switched. Here, Dr. Ricksgers really knows you and your cat's history. Definitely recommend. read more

I used the Cat Hospital for a while. The last time I went there, my cat was agitated and I got mildly scratched. No blood or marks at all but I mentioned to the receptionist that my cat was agitated. This idiot doctor reported to the animal officer that I was wounded by my cat and my cat had to be quarantined. Even the animal officer was amazed at this. Animal officer asked to see my wound and there was none whatsoever. Never ever went back. Beware. This behavior was patently absurd. read more

Reading Linda P.'s review reminded me that I should have reviewed this place. The lack of compassion and emotion from Dr. Ricksgers is astounding. I understand there has to be a certain degree of emotional distance, but this is something very very different. If you have emotions in regards to your cat, don't see Dr. Ricksgers. The last time I went in was months ago, and I was upset about the blatant lack of sensitivity and care for at least a week. Scarring. read more

I have taken my cats to The Cat Hospital since just after the practice opened. Although a small practice, Dr. R. and staff are attentive and compassionate about their clients, both feline and human. One of mine was a "problem" (re: Psycho Kitty) and was a dangerous handful to treat. Most vets would have gladly referred this animal to another practice, but Dr. R took it in stride, ensuring that he had his yearly vetting out and vaccinations. I cannot compliment this practice enough for all they have done over the years for my cats and recommend Dr R for her detailed knowledge of feline behavior and willingness to go the extra mile for her clients. read more

I took my cat here since I adopted him, for almost 2 years, normally every visit was pleasant enough. I was very disappointed the last time I took him, one of the doctors came into the waiting room with another cat's blood on them. What kind of procedure she had just performed-I'm not sure, but I believe the scent and her tone agitated my cat. She clearly was nervous around my cat and afraid of him, which I was surprised since they are a vet specializing in cats. I can't imagine they don't receive difficult cats, he isn't extremely difficult, he just doesn't find going to the vet pleasant like most cats. She ended up pricking him with a shot a couple times before being able to administer it and it was an overall unnecessary dramatic experience. So a couple months later, when he was having digestive issues I called to get an appointment and they suggested I go to a hospital down the street and they were busy. When we went to the other local vet, three staff members were waiting for him with gloves and they handled him just fine. They were not afraid of my 12 lb cat, and had the expertise and knowlege on how to handle him. I was upset to just receive a postcard in the mail reminding me of his annual shots from The Cat Hospital, with a note asking to give him a sedative before I bring him in. I also received a postcard from the other vet, who clearly is more capable of handling agitated cats, but they didn't put a note to give him a sedative. The Cat Hospital wasn't able to help me when my cat was having a serious digestive issue, but they are fine to ask me to give my cat a sedative so I can bring him in for a yearly checkup so they can collect their $150. This is extremely unprofessional, and I will not be recommending this vet to any one I know. read more
