I ate here 3 time prior and Saturday I stopped to eat with my wife and daughter. All the food they eat must be GLUTEN FREE and very little if any seasoning - absolutely No Pepper of any kind. Your so called vegetables had pepper in it and my wife cannot have mushrooms the menu did not say mushrooms. You took her plate back to the kitchen and removed the vegetables and you did not offer to replace the vegetable so 2 pieces of fish cost $12.99 with no other item you are not of a value nor are you professional, talk about NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - then you are the place. Our first visit was today and we were not disappointed. I had the grilled shrimp poboy and hubby had the blackened chicken poboy and we split a pound of New Orleans flavored crawfish. Everything was delicious.... we went with medium heat on the mud bugs which at first I thought they weren't spicy enough but after a bit my lips were on fire so I wouldn't want to order any hotter. Ate at The Catch on Thursday night with my wife and daughter. I ordered the Catch 22, which has Catfish, Whitefish, Shrimp & Oysters. The blackened catfish was good as was the blackened "whitefish". The shrimp was also good. Nothing special or particularly great about them, but they were good. The fried oysters were outstanding. My wife ordered the fried crawfish, fried catfish and shrimp & sausage gumbo. The gumbo is good, but not the best. The fried crawfish and fried catfish are worth crossing town for. They were well cooked, flavorful and are highly recommended. My wife also ordered the grits, which were awful. The Catch needs to re-learn how to cook and serve grits. Good grits should taste simple and fresh. My daughter ordered the fish tacos. They were well prepared and she really liked them. I would recommend The Catch as being a great spot for seafood in Atascocita, Texas. The prices are reasonable, the fried crawfish and catfish are very good and the oysters are great. I had heard that this place was good, so my dad and I try it. We get there and it is packed so we place our order to go. I dont mind taking it home to eat so what the heck right? Well we get the food back. I ordered blackened fish and shrimp, pops ordered shrimp remoulade salad. Here is where it goes downhill. The blackened fish and shrimp is not blackened with seasoning, it was burnt on the grill with zero seasoning. The shrimp remoulade salad was unpeeled shrimp with zero seasoning. To top it off, the remoulade sauce isnt even remoulade, it is just thousand island. The meal left us severely disappointed and still hungry. I dont think we will be going back there. read more

Very disappointed since under new management. The food was horrible. I have been several times but recently I've been disgusted by the service and the food. Took my family spent over 50 dollars and had to send most of our food back because it was cold and old. Seems like they had cooked it earlier that day. Once we sent the food back the waitress sends over the manager he was very rude offered no apology. He basically stated he would check to see what happened in the back. Wow!! So good! The batter used is really light. Shrimp are super fresh, fish was fried perfectly, and the grits were outstanding. Our 4 and 7 year olds were big fans as well. Happy to see something new in the area. We will definitely be back!!! read more

Terrible..Hey folks frying food is one of the easiest and quickest styles of cooking... Its so easy to get it right, and very hard to get it wrong. The correct way for frying shrimp and oysters is to maintain frying temp at 350 to 375 degrees for cooking time of 3 minutes. Its extremely important to allow the temperature of the grease to recover between batches (since the temp falls when each batch is dropped) ... I've been here 3 times. It was just ok the first two times. Pricey for what you get ? Yes. Its an order from the counter type of establishment with mundane, unfriendly servers that bring out the food .... This time the floors were sticky and gnats flying around the self serve drink station. The condiment bottles on the table were sticky. I ordered the fried shrimp and fried oysters combination. When my order came out it was luke warm at best. The breading on the shrimp was falling off and the oysters weren't fried at the proper temperature to begin with,,, then apparently sat around in the kitchen for several minutes with the shrimp before being sent out to our table. When the plate of food got to our table the oysters had a mushy texture inside and out and dripping with grease. The shrimp were just barely tolerable but I immediately took the oysters back to the counter in a napkin and pointed out the lousy quality to the girl at the register. I told her to have the kitchen fry them up fresh this time. After 3 minutes replacement oysters came out but were fried in the same below temperature grease as before....they were under cooked, and mushy, the beading was falling off and dripping with grease. No one should tolerate or pay for food that isn't fried to perfection. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for a restaurant to send out fried food that isn't fried to perfection and piping hot ! I would have griped to them again or asked for a refund for the price of the oysters but we didn't have time since we were running late for a meeting. I left the oysters for the trash...and will not be back. read more

We went on the second day of opening. From the moment we walked in we got a feeling that it was going to be good. Everything was fresh and tasty. Heaping portions too and the owners and staff were very friendly. We were given free samples to try and nothing disappointed. We plan to go back very soon! A really great restaurant! I was so excited when I first heard this was opening up. And then even more excited when I ate there. Great service and food! However, I was disappointed their fish tacos only come on flour tortillas. It's the first place I've been to that doesn't serve them on corn tortillas. When you are gluten free, only offering flour is problematic. If they had corn tortillas, this would've been a 5 star rating. Hopefully that changes in the near future! read more

Been here twice. Both times the food had issues. The last time the fried crawfish were overcooked and when brought to the attention of the manager, he offered to have them replaced. Cool. But, the batch that came out next smelled bad--as though they were spoiled. When brought to his attention this time, the manager said he talked with his Chef who said it was because the oil needed changing! What?! Ridiculous. My daughter and I decided to check this place out during the week and let me say for a weekday it was packed. A full parking lot is always a good sign, we walked in asking for a table but at this place you must order your food first then you get seated. I had the garlic crawfish and she ordered the grilled fish with veggies. our food was really good only complaint is that the crawfish were a bit on the small side but the taste was awesome. Ate there today they got my order wrong to start with. I got the clam chowder it was full of butter and very greasy. My friend got the catfish it was full of salt. My son and I tried this place tonight, cute place & I was offered a free beer or Margarita when we were in line to order. We ordered at 6:20 PM and at 6:50 I noticed that everyone that had ordered after us received their food before us. I go up and ask a lady that was cleaning tables to check on our order. They said that the Kitchen never got our order. The order came out a few minutes later but no apology or a manager to come see how everything was after the food came out. And there was not anyone asking you if you needed anything after your food came out, if you needed anything you had to go to the front where you place your order. As for the food it was okay, nothing special. I had the fried Catfish and it had no taste to it and my son had fried crawfish tails they were awful. I'm not sure I would go back. read more

Not sure how this restaurant is only getting 3.5 out 5 stars. I absolutely love it!! Brought my family. We all loved it!! Came back 2 days later. Just as good as the first time. Great food!! Great friendly service!! Has a fast food feel when you first walk in which was deceiving to me because when the food came to our table, it was definitely not fast food but like I was at my old Auntie's house, who's known for her amazing cooking, and getting a plate of delicious home cooked food that you typically can't get in any restaurant... you have to go to Auntie's to get that kind of food. Some of you know what I'm talking about. Definitely 5 out of 5. My wife said the same just a little cold in the restaurant for her so she brought her sweater next time. I was fine. She's the one who said let's go back. I'm sure this place will be a new routine for us and we'll bring friends and family when they come visit us. Today is my second time coming to this establishment . The first time was with my husband for date night we wanted to try somewhere new in the area where they sell crawfish. And they were ok, their fried green tomatoes were to pretty good too. Today I bring the whole family pay 85 dollars for a family of 4 which I don't mind at all when the service and food is good, or so I thought based upon our first experience. This time husband order a whole pound of boiled shrimp for 16.99, he added corn and potatoes for 1.99 extra and also the smoked sausage for 3.99. Still fine, he receives the order and its 5 shrimp in the bag. Did they weigh them frozen or am I just being ripped off. I went to the front and spoke with Katelyn and told her what transpired and she was very snippy, sassy and not at all professional she exclaimed that the aforementioned was a total of 1 pound. Which I explained the shrimp should be 1 pound alone as we paid extra for the other items. She says he weighs them every day he knows what it is, which I assume she was speaking of the cook. She handed me another bag of shrimp and said he weighed them correctly but here is another bag. As if she did me a favor. Not even having a chance to began eating my shrimp and grits yet, I sit down to eat and try to enjoy the evening with my family and the grits taste like 5 day old oatmeal. How that's possible I don't know. And you know I probably would have tolerated it but the service from Katelyn was so horrible I took it back. I will never ever return to this establishment again for 20 dollars more we could have enjoy led a quiet clean atmosphere at Pappadueax's as usual. That's what we get for trying something new. The food is excellent bu management suck. I was hired for the new store that is opening up on 1960, the GM is practically an uneducated kid in her mid 20's, obviously she has never had a management position prior, prior to opening she asked everyone to come clean. Ok, two shifts she had a group of around twenty kids show up and clean, clean and clean from 10-3, second team comes along including myself 3-8 clean, clean and clean, mind u at this time we are looking for stuff to do, the restaurant is not very big, I mean how much cleaning can you do, my arms were sore from scrubbing the walls. Oh don't let her catch you introducing yourself to your co-workers she gets upset, anyway, I finished cleaning the restroom she walks in behind and saids the floor is not clean, well, we swept mopped not only I but several people would re-cLEAN, she then saids see that dry paint on the floor clean it up scrub it with your nail. I asked for a butter knife and she tells me to clock out, then she calls and saids she did not like the way I work and let me go. Fine, who wants to work for a freak like that. I am not a slave, I have worked in many restaurants, and had never been asked to scrub floors with my nails.....DO NOT WORK AT THE CATCH ON 1960 THE GM IS A LITTLE GIRL WHO OBVIOUS WANTS TO FEEL POWERFUL BY TREATING EMPLOYEES LIKE SHIT!!! read more

went there on Saturday 12/3/2016 around 4 pm, and will problably not go back, first cold fries and staled, cold white rice and no taste, New England Clam chowder tasted like can soup and not new england style at all., nothing to the fried shrimps, just sitting on rice no seasoning, i see all 5 stars reviews looks like bad rating are being removed because sub-division i live in has told me they posted 1-2 star reviews and i dont see them..shame on you if you are doing this practice. i will come back on yelp to see if its still on post read more
