Owner has history of arrests for buying food from unlicensed vendors, risking poisoning to customers. (MCSO 2019) Ambience is a cheap knockoff of Cracker Barrel without the charm, more like crap found in yard sales and put up on walls. Extremely crowded, you are on top of others as they eat. Bathrooms gross, tiny and unsanitary. Service is just meh--mostly tired old women who don't seem to like their jobs. This restaurant is called the Parasite Pub for its shady clientele, its sociopathic owner, and its sketchy-sourced food. I've been sick both times after eating here and won't be back obviously. The food was overall good. Most importantly the fish. It was fresh and hot! Really enjoyed the Mahi! But the fries were so cold, it's been a long time since they've been in the oil. Besides that they were laying in the liquid from the fish so they were all mushy and soft. The cucumber salad was good and I wish they added more veggies to my plate. I ordered two times veggies as u can see on the picture. 23$ for coconut shrimp with a little side of veggies. And then we got a sprite with no flavor and they forgot to bring the new soda with flavor back until we mentioned it when the food came. On our way back from Marathon we found this casual place via yelp. Very nice and attentive waitresses. It is self seating and the waitress came over right away. They had live music inside which sounded great from what we heard when we went inside to go to bathroom. We sat outside and they had a good amount of seating outdoors. The menu had a lot of options we liked but we wanted fish sandwiches so we got mahi mahi sandwiches (Reuben and baked which came with one side) which we both enjoyed and would get again. We also got the sampler appetizer which came with coconut shrimp, conch fritters, calamari, fish spread with crackers and blackened mahi. Great portion size for all items and reasonably priced. Homemade chips were good. Also my husband enjoyed the old fashioned which is one of his favorite drinks and for $7 which was great. Some things we didn't like but it wouldn't deter us from coming back was that is that outside seating allows smoking and pets. I wouldn't mind the dogs but they were barking and begging for food while I was eating. Lastly One recommendation is to have some stout and Belgian beers. read more

My granddaughter did not eat her fish because she said it was swimming in butter. Appetizer platter again was so overcooked you could barely chew through the conch fritter. Just picked up an order for calamari and coconut shrimp. Calamari was extremely bland. No flavor. The coconut shrimp was unevenly cooked. Chalky and not flavorful. Horrible experience, and I have never written a negative review, ever. So sad because my husband and I are on vacation and wanted to enjoy some good drinks and food. It took over 30 minutes to get waters, longer for drinks, and they brought out the wrong meals for both of us. The waitress ignored us, wasn't apologetic, didn't check in and didn't offer to compensate for all the errors. What a great addition to Key Largo's restaurant scene! The Catch has a great, wide variety of offerings from various appetizers to full meals. I have had the baked camabert cheese plate and it is yummy and filling! The fish "sticks" are great as are the wings and conch fritters. The happy hour raw oysters are cold and tasty. Lots of locals here for happy hour. There is a small patio in the back with several tables that have umbrellas. If you have your four legged furry friend with you, you can sit here! The servers will even bring some water for them. Great, relaxed Keys restaurant. Looking forward to returning again and again. read more

Great seafood restaurant located in the upper Keys. I've dined here twice and can say that both of my experiences have been extremely satisfactory. It's kinda hard to pick what to eat because everything is so good you just want to order everything. I love the lobster crab cakes because they taste so fresh every time. The coconut crusted fish with the raisin curry sauce is by far my favorite entree on the menu. I choose Hogfish because of its juicy and tender profile and I ate every bite. Make sure you read the board before with the specials because they often have an enticing list. Their beer list isn't the craftiest but at least you can guarantee yourself a cold one. In the Keys, life is simpler, the food is fresher, and it's always casual behavior. read more

We went to The Catch based on the review. My wife ordered the Key Lime Chicken and asked to have it with out the cheese. I ordered Seafood Platter with Fries. My seafood was fried way too long it was really crispy and very dry inside. The fries were Luke warm at best. The chicken entree came with the cheese. The food came out about the place looked. We are local Key Largo residents, and this is one of our go to hangouts. It's very casual with good food and great service. The owners are very involved in the business and one of them is nearly always present. They recently updated their menu and have some nice new features. The shrimp bruschetta is delicious! Great appetizer for 2-3 or lunch for one. Soups are always good and they have a delicious prime rib on Friday night. Check it out! read more

We have a vacation home here in Key Largo and have been here a few times. It seems to be hit or miss, but tonight was a one star and I thought it was time for a review. First off, the staff is fantastic. They're friendly and inviting, always super, but the food is in need of help. They did move from a chalk board only menu to an actual menu, nice.. but ordered a $15 cheese steak which was about 5 inches long? Really? The fries were seriously previously cooked and arrived shriveled up, hard and crunchy, just horrible. My wife is gluten free and the first plate arrived wrong and the waitress realized when she arrived at the table and turned around and went back to the kitchen. Ugh... we got a little nervous at that and my wife decided not to eat the cucumber with the dressing. Going to take it out of book of recommended places I think. read more

I've stopped in the Catch over a dozen times on the way out of the keys for late lunch and never been disappointed. I will admit I tend to get the mahi sandwich often but fresh fish and homemade meals like a real chicken pot pie how can you go wrong. Staff is insanely friendly and has a CHEERS BAR vibe as well like they all know each others name. I will continue stopping in here on the way out of the keys at least once a week. They have an outside patio but not much ambience out there, not really much ambience inside either. they have one vegetarian entrée which is a pasta Primavera with a garlic cream sauce. I ordered the fraDiavlo sauce instead which was very tasty and spicy except that my broccoli had gone bad apparently and ruined the whole meal. First thing you'll notice about this place is their friendly service! Everyone is in a great mood and thats what I like to see. The lunch menu is rather small with a few specials that they'll inform you on. The prices seem fair, of course it's Key Largo so they're slightly higher than the norm. I had the Hog Fish Platter w/fries $14.95 which I must admit was a bit fishy and I hate the aftertaste of fish. She had the Blackened Swordfish Tacos $14.95 very generous portion consisting of 3 tacos. Very good! Overall it wasn't bad, but I've had much better. The service was excellent!! I was dead tired after afternoon dives in stormy sea (we had 4-5' waves on the reef), so I wanted to get a quick bite and crash to bed. Catch was just across the road from my hotel and it turned out to be a nice surprise. The food was really tasty (I had ahi tuna poke and lobster/crab cakes appetizers plus house salad), the service was very friendly, and the portions are huge - I ended up packing half of my meal for next-day lunch. As an added bonus they had a band that plays there in Thursday nights. They play country music and the singer is really good. My father is from Luisiana and he plays country all the time, so I have a thing for country music :) The only thing is that the crowd there may be a bit weird, some drunk guy twice my age came to my table and asked whether I am a tourist from China and suggested to come with him, so he will show me around... Anyway, other than that, the place is a great value for money and I highly recommend it. read more

On a recent vacation my wife and 2 friends stopped in for dinner. I ordered the seafood platter. The serving size for the price was not proportionate. The food was dreadful. The scallops could not be cut with a knife. They had the consistency of rubber. I spoke with the server 2x and she was reluctant to do anything about it. When I pushed the issue, I felt to be embarrassed by her avoidance of handling the situation. Needles to say we will never go back there. Our food was not good, the service was terrible. First place we tried in the Keys I thought $13.99/dz raw oysters... let's give it a try! Not very appetizing. Lots of bits of shell in the meat from shucking. Almost all of them were sandy and they were all very small. There were 4 patrons in the whole place and we waited about 15 mins at the bar for our order. Not super slow but for as slow as they were it felt like forever. We were very hungry so take that with a grain of salt or two lol. Everybody else's food look very good and they were all complimenting the bartender on How good there food was. A lady next to me order wings. They looked and smelled amazing! I seriously wanted to order some but we were on a quest for fresh amazing seafood and were not going to compromise, so down the road we went I really wanted to give this place a better review but I couldn't. Had to be honest. In their defense I don't think raw oysters is their thing, even though they were available if you asked... read: weren't on the menu. I lived in Florida for 20 years and just came back on vacation to Key Largo. I stopped at "The Catch" for the first time and I have to say, I'm extremely impressed for 2 reasons. The first, our server, Lala was AMAZING! She was so accommodating, on point with what we needed and super friendly in that " real way "! She makes me want to come back! 2nd Reason: Lala recommended the wings and warned us that they are huge! We ordered 20 anyway and... ATE THEM ALL!
